IceNoSlice · 02/03/2014 18:27

Congratulations Baldrick!

Mummytobe2014 if you want some glucose tablets you could try sports or running shops?

Charingcrossbun · 02/03/2014 18:33

Hi ladies,
Feel a bit like a goal hanger coming in at the last min as I know you've all been going for 15threads but I'm 38+4 and really feeling it! Very exciting to hear there a babies already though - gives me hope that this is all going in the right direction!

DitaVonCreamTeas · 02/03/2014 18:53

Charingcrossbun is your EDD the 12th? If so, race ya! Grin

Charingcrossbun · 02/03/2014 18:57

13th so v close! All v exciting and real!

JustCallMeBaldrick · 02/03/2014 18:58

For those who asked - I was induced due to DD being an unstable lie.
She was transverse at 36 weeks, so I was scanned every other day for a fortnight till it looked like she had settled head down. She stayed that way until the Thursday morning, but when my waters went just after midnight and I went in to be checked, she was oblique ( her head was by my right hip, rather than cephalic.
There was talk of a c-section, but they had a go at turning her first, which worked, but was excruciating!
After they'd got her the right way round they wanted to stabilise her position by inducing contractions to keep her in place.
I still nearly ended up with a section, as her heart rate was dipping a lot during contractions before she arrived, but by the time they were going to do a blood test on her age was nearly out, so that became a non- issue Smile

Imeg · 02/03/2014 18:58

Have been uncomfortable and achey all day but not in an interesting way I think! 40 weeks tomorrow... Really hope it doesn't keep me waiting until 42 weeks.

Imeg · 02/03/2014 18:59

PS Congratulations Baldrick :)

Magpieblue · 02/03/2014 20:21

Congratulations Baldrick, Lyra, Ice, Grey! - and sorry to everyone else I've forgotten.

I'm another one who can't believe it's all finally happening. I still don't feel ready - would really like another couple of months and I know I'm v lucky to have had it so easy (so far) but I've really enjoyed being pregnant.

Mainly hope the baby stays put - my DP is away until 9 days before the EDD. Pretty worried, but hoping that as it's my first it won't be an issue if anyone tells me their first was several weeks early I will use my natal hypnotherapy superpowers to send you extra painful contractions

What's happened to BWP and ???-formerly-known-as-pram? Miss them, hope all is ok. Oh, and hi to mummy and charingcrossbun (I'm only an intermittent poster)

Magpieblue · 02/03/2014 20:27

Wow, can't believe there's a November thread. It doesn't feel that long ago since that was us.

Fender1 · 02/03/2014 20:29

That sounds like a bit of a roller coaster Baldrick, I'm so glad little one arrived safe and sound.
Hi ((waves)) to Charing, better later than never eh?! X

PainAuxRaisins · 02/03/2014 21:15

Well done Baldrick and hello to all the newbies. Magpie not sure what's happened to BWP but Pram is ok. I'm feeling a tad urgh today after yesterday's whooping cough jab (completely painless at the time but after about 4 hours my arm started to ache and hasn't stopped). Had a few accidental prods from the kids which didn't help. Bump is starting to resemble the one on OBEM this week (the Chinese lady) so I really don't want to go another 3/4 weeks - even my maternity coat is now too tight to zip up Sad. Can't believe there have been 11 babies already and it's only March 2nd!

liberuna · 02/03/2014 23:26

Welcome one welcome all newbies! Where have you been?

EDD is 9th and bump is high, definitely not engaged so don't think anything is going to happen soon. currently pottering about the house cleaning (what is this obsession with clean fridges? me & 4 others have done this)

Cats have just puked in the spare bedroom so have to deal with that Urgh! Why now? They never do stuff like that!

Anyone have interesting plans this week I can live vicariously through?

pain sorry the jab is still causing you jip. Rest up

DitaVonCreamTeas · 03/03/2014 11:26

Woke up last night after dreaming that DH was a giant lizard/dinosaur man and was so convinced that I had to prod him to make sure he was his normal soft non-lizard/dinosaur self. What the actual fuck was that about!? Confused

Anyone else having freakish dreams?

mrsmugoo · 03/03/2014 15:47

Flumpin We are C Section twins! Just got my date through - next Wednesday!

Charingcrossbun · 03/03/2014 18:12

Dita - I had a dream last night that I had a litter of puppies and not a baby!!!! Worse thing was I was really happy about it! Wink

Flumpinblues · 03/03/2014 18:28

Whey MrsMagoo, lovely to have a section twin! I had final
consultant appointment today, swabs and have been given pre-op pills. Got to go back for more bloods on Thursdsy this week. All a bit real now. Have you packed already?

Am 38 weeks tomorrow. Just informed OH that I am going to bed (earlier than the toddler but actually to avoid bedtime and mumsnet, ha ha! )

mrsmugoo · 03/03/2014 18:54

Yeah I'm all packed now - bought another pack of extra big pants and some peppermint oil pills today and have taken out my "labour" clothes from the bag. Also taken out the baby clothes in teeny size as pretty confident the LO will fit newborn based on estimated size from the scan I had last week.

Have all my 'beautification" appointments this week - hair, waxing, pedicure etc... really excited now and super emotional because I know it's just 9 days to wait to meet this little wriggler.

Flumpinblues · 03/03/2014 19:12

On tell me about Peppermint Oil? Do I need it?

Had my hair done last week, will be booking pedi and wax tomorrow :) Am also batch cooking from tomorrow for the freezer. Still can't decide on name. Do you know if little wriggler is pink or blue?

mrsmugoo · 03/03/2014 19:57

Well I've heard you can suffer with trapped wind post c-section and that peppermint can ease it - either peppermint tea or go for oil in the capsules you can just take with water.

I had good intentions of batch cooking but I can't see it happening - going to try to stock up the freezer with a big sainsbury's shop though before I go in though.

Little wriggler is as yet unknown! We have a boy name and a girl name all decided though - I can't wait for my DH to be the one to tell me what we've got! Is yours pink or blue?

BSpice · 04/03/2014 07:39

Congrats baldrick on ur speedy birth! Welcome newbies! Mat leave plans are in full effect, hair done at weekend, lunch with friend yesterday and Pilates this morning (as well as madly popping into work this aft as one pile of work not finished-when is it ever done? But this will have to be it- babies head feels well down perfecting my waddle & walking at snail's pace!)

Rest of week seeing more friends, re packing bag (about 10th time!) & hoping not to venture too far! Then mission get this baby out!

BSpice · 04/03/2014 07:40

Been told to try clary sage oil in bath & massage, so gonna give it a whirl!

FrankelInFoal · 04/03/2014 07:42

Well Due Date is here, and no sign of anything moving! I feel a day rotating on my birthing ball ahead of me Hmm

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Flumpinblues · 04/03/2014 09:07

Morning Mrsm and everyone. Wriggler pink here. At least I hope the sonographer was right - everything we have is pink from DD1!

Had a blissful 12 hours sleep in our spare bed. Feel almost normal today. Sorting cooking ironing small clothes and nesting on the agenda. Have a great day everyone. Enjoy time before little people invade our headspace :)

Mummytobe2014 · 04/03/2014 09:23

Morning all, my lo is still sitting so high Sad with a week till edd i know there is time to drop but it feels luke he is in here for the long haul!
Keeping positive thoughts for those who are on due dates or after x

DitaVonCreamTeas · 04/03/2014 10:46

Had semi-convinced myself last night that I was starting labour, but seems to have only been the BH cranking up a level - which is a good thing.

Feeling glad that yesterday wasn't D Day; it was rubbish ex-partner's birthday, and since I got pregnant I've been hoping my wee boy wouldn't arrive then.

mrsmugoo I'd also had a vision of myself batch cooking for the freezer; nope, it ain't gonna happen, we'll live on ready meals and anything our families and friends want to put our way.
