Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
EmFlat · 27/02/2014 17:10

Hm, that gibberish was supposed to be a sad-face emoticon Confused

Fender1 · 27/02/2014 17:33

MrsMugoo, i can sympathise totally - You're following exactly same path as I did first time round, but rest assured the hypno birthing WILL still come in handy and it's nothing like going to the dentist Wink
In a couple of months time no one will even mention how mini mugoo came into the world and the newborn-ness will be so much more important.
At the end of the day you get to meet your baby in a safe way, and you are in a great position to VBAC next time round.

OwlinaTree · 27/02/2014 19:19

Sorry it didn't work out mrsm. Look forward to the section tho, at least, like imeg and others have said, it's a set date to be ready for.

em tricky one with thewedding. Crickey, imagine if your waters break during the vows! Shock

IceNoSlice · 28/02/2014 03:25

Em I gave a reading at my BFF's wedding when I was 38 weeks preggo last time. There is nowt you can do to determine exactly when LO will appear - just have a plan for every possibility. We live in the Midlands and my friend was getting married in Kent so we had hospital bag eye in the car and DH had printed details of local hospitals, telephone numbers etc. And DH was tee total for that one, obv!

I hope you make it and enjoy the day Smile

EmFlat · 28/02/2014 08:33

Thanks, Ice... I think that's what we're planning Smile It's only an hour away, so if anything crazy does happen, everything will be in the boot of the car!

Although... not sure if I've been having one of the earlier warning-signs that something could happen soon! Typical. Meh, will just press ahead as normal and see if we get there!

How's everyone this morning? Hoping you're all ok Grin

EmFlat · 28/02/2014 08:34

Forgot to say, Owlina... GrinGrinGrin exactly! I'll ask to sit nearest the exit Wink

mrsmugoo · 28/02/2014 08:55

Feeling a bit battered and bruised today after yesterday. It's my official last day at work today although I'm basically off sick anyway, but it's a milestone anyway!

Making a list of things to finish off the hospital bag today, knowing my exact date and that it's definitely a section does help somewhat with the packing and pre-planning.

commsgirl · 28/02/2014 10:04

I had lots of cramps and twinges last night after the longest supermarket shop ever. Predictably didn't turn into anything but at least things are happening down there! I'm just trying to carry on as normal for now but I think if I go past my due date it will turn into a bit of a waiting game.

Mrs congrats on your last day and sorry to hear you're feeling sore. Put your feet up!

Has anyone tried any natural ways to bring labour on yet?

OwlinaTree · 28/02/2014 10:32

That's great mrsm, nearly on maternity! There's loads you don't need to pack for a section too, cos you are not doing labour! Main extra seems to be the enormous Granny pants to prevent rubbing on the wound.

You sound quite prepared em, and an hour away isn't too far I guess. My friend went to an Xmas party and went into labour 3 weeks early. She had nothing with her! Sounds like you are far more prepared.

dizhin79 · 28/02/2014 10:48

Don't forget baby car seat if you do go to the wedding and bag for your other half too!

I'm on my last day at work today. it's been a long old slog, 38+5 today, phew!! cannot wait to switch my works laptop off at 4pm!

PainAuxRaisins · 28/02/2014 13:15

Hooray to diz and mrs for joining me in the "downing tools today" club. So nice to finally finish work. Mrs I can see you're disappointed but the only thing that really matters in the end is the healthy baby (and mum) at the end of all this - too many people bang on about having an ideal birth but you honestly won't care a jot within a day or two of holding your new baby. Far better to prepare yourself for BF than for labour in my opinion. Labour is something that only lasts for hours/couple of days at most whereas BF goes on for weeks and months!
Em make sure you get an aisle seat at the wedding Smile

mrsmugoo · 28/02/2014 13:27

Congrats to all the other work finishers today!

I've been feet up all day watching crap day time TV and drinking cups of tea.

I've downloaded the Natal Hypnotherapy for preparing for a C Section too. But honestly, I'm cool with the ELCS now and great advice painauxraisins about preparing for BF instead of labour.

Hope everyone is feeling good and getting excited now!!

DitaVonCreamTeas · 28/02/2014 14:44

Congrats to everyone who's having their last day before maternity leave, for me the best thing about it is when I have a crappy nights sleep it doesn't matter (so much) so I've stopped worrying about worrying I wasn't sleeping.

Making a chicken and lentil curry for tea, and went for a reasonably long waddle today, interesting to see if either has any effect. bet it bloody doesn't

OwlinaTree · 28/02/2014 15:02

Congrats all maternity leave starters!!

Flumpinblues · 28/02/2014 22:10

Congrats to all fellow maternity leave starters, hurrah we made it!! 38 weeks exactly here. REALLY looking forward to some R&R next week.

MrsM I am ELCS too week after next (not breech but medical need). Booked in for Wens 12th March :)

Happy weekend too all Martians

liberuna · 01/03/2014 08:44

Finally we're officially in March!

Congratulations on all those on mat leave make sure you get some much needed rest. You now have naps and constant grazing to look forward to :)

em hope you enjoyed the wedding let us know if you upstaged the bride. lol

BSpice · 01/03/2014 08:49

Wahoo! So happy to be joining diz mrs m flumpin & pain on the start of mat leave! I celebrated by spending the entire evening asleep on MIL's sofa! Clearly it's been a long time coming!

mrs m I'm planning on starting to listen to the natal hynoptherapy cd a bit more often too, as the very few occasions I have resulted in me falling asleep within minutes!

Not started natural ways to induce labour yet comms as want to enjoy a few days mat leave first but like I would love to hear ideas (apart from having sex, which everyone keeps telling me is the one!)

Fender1 · 01/03/2014 11:59

Congratulations to everyone who has finished work (at last !)
Is it just me that woke at 5am this morning thinking 'bloody hell, I'm gonna have a baby THIS MONTH' !!!

OwlinaTree · 01/03/2014 16:10

Long trek round town today to buy birthday cards and presents for all the upcoming birthdays etc, plus all the necessary for DH to complete DIY jobs tomorrow. Trying to organise and plan as much as possible, so I can at least feel some sense of readiness for the baby!!

Worn out now tho, evening of sofa and telly I think. Any good film suggestions?

DitaVonCreamTeas · 01/03/2014 18:49

Definitely agree with everyone who's thinking 'it's March, it's THE month, it's actually going to happen!' It feels like it's been a loooooong time getting here, 11 days 'till my EDD - I can't believe it.

Happy weekend everyone. Smile

liberuna · 01/03/2014 20:55

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday I have cleaning the fridge and more washing in my horizon!

OwlinaTree · 02/03/2014 06:28

Terrible night's sleep, kept getting up to pee then thought I was having contractions ( maybe BH?).

Baby wriggling like crazy... Roll on ELCS!

FrankelInFoal · 02/03/2014 07:40

Morning all, I'm definitely with you in the "Bloody hell it's Match!" thoughts. In many ways it's taken so long to get here, but in others it feels like it has gone so fast Confused

I thought things might kick off on Friday as I had what I think was my first contraction, but sadly it never amounted to anything. I've been going for waddles around the village, sitting on my ball and even ate a curry on Friday night to see if that got things shifting, but to no avail. I've also been on Raspberry Leaf tea capsules for a few weeks, so hopefully they'll help.

Only 2 days till EDD Shock
