Omigosh Lib, that's so beautiful! she'll definitely suit it Smile

commsgirl · 15/02/2014 13:40

Lib I met a lovely little girl called Lorelai at work the other day. Was photographing her for a project and she was absolutely adorable and behaved beautifully. Good choice!

pixiebell79 · 15/02/2014 16:04

Lorelai is lovely - reminds me of the Gilmore Girls as it's the only time I've come across it. We've picked out Henry for our blue bundle, likewise hoping he suits it when he finally emerges!

LyraSilvertongue · 15/02/2014 16:19

Martian baby number 3 was born last night, 2.5 weeks early. We've named him Adem (Turkish spelling because his father is Turkish). Weight 6lb 14, or 3.125kg.

Yogibear72 · 15/02/2014 16:25

Congratulations Lyra Thanks Thanks so pleased for you!
I think we were about the same due date - 3rd March?
Hope you are all well.

commsgirl · 15/02/2014 17:27

Congratulations Lyra. Lovely name! Hope you're both doing well Thanks

Imeg · 15/02/2014 18:03

Congratulations Lyra!

puggywug81 · 15/02/2014 18:24

Thanks congratulations Lyra Thanks

IceNoSlice · 15/02/2014 18:38

Flowers for Lyra

Lorelai is pretty. Also a character in The Mentalist. Mmm Simon Baker... Gone off the actual show, mind.

Flumpinblues · 15/02/2014 19:07

Wow congratulations Lyra!! Hope you are enjoying newborn cuddles!

Owlina well done on reaching the end. I have 10 days to go :)

Lib, I am feeling better on the flu front thank you. Antibiotics are doing the trick, wish I had asked for them them sooner. Done too much today though - SPD kicked in big style. So an on the sofa already. I love your chosen name btw, Lorelai is beautiful.

Em flat I love both names too but would err towards Ben I think. Pink bump here, current top 3 on shortlist are Alexandra (Alexa for short), Olivia (Liv or Ollie), or Sophia. We have a family middle name already. Hope that doesn't out me!!!

Bump has dropped a lot here, and I've been in the ladies a lot, not sure if that is a sign. Am only 35 + 3 weeks though, EDD 19th, I think so seems quite early. Was induced at 37 weeks with DC1 so haven't experienced this before!

Hope everyone is OK

FrankelInFoal · 15/02/2014 19:11

Well done Lyra Grin

OwlinaTree · 15/02/2014 20:02

Congratulations Lyra what a lovely name.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 15/02/2014 21:09

Congratulations Lyra!

EmFlat · 15/02/2014 22:54

Thanks Congratulations Lyra! Smile

Flump I'm starting to prefer Ben, too - poor kid's always gonna have to spell his surname, so maybe we ought to cut him a break and let him have an easy first name Wink

But then, Cian's lovely and different and no-one we know has it as a name... oof, overthinking this now Confused Sod it, gonna stop trying to decide and just wait until he's here.

mrsmugoo · 16/02/2014 07:49

Congratulations Lyra! ????

DitaVonCreamTeas · 16/02/2014 09:39

Congratulations Lyra Thanks lovely news.

I've noticed over that last few days I'm occasionally getting very mild period type pains that for a few seconds then go - is this Braxton Hicks? I had one big, definite BH just after Christmas with a strong contraction and my bump went hard before relaxing again.

My bump is really high still; I went for a nursing bra fitting at John Lewis and the very nice fitter told me to come back when he's dropped.

Hope everyone's having a relaxing weekend. Smile

commsgirl · 16/02/2014 10:39

My bump's definitely dropped over the last few days (I'm 36+2). My horrible rib pain has gone and I'm getting a lot more twinges low down. Baby was 4/5 at my last midwife appt so hopefully she's engaged a bit more when I go back on Tuesday.

We're having such a busy weekend and I'm not sleeping so today will be spent in bed before going to my sister's birthday dinner later.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend! :)

PainAuxRaisins · 16/02/2014 14:08

Congratulations Lyra! Hope everyone is having a restful weekend and enjoying some respite from the rain. Good luck to all of you who are already getting twinges. I have my 34wk appt tomorrow so hoping everything stays put for at least 3 more weeks.

liberuna · 16/02/2014 15:18

Congrats lyra

And thanks guys for liking the name. Im not risking going on the name thread now. Grin

I'm getting jealous of all these babies coming. I'm 37 today and bump still high.

IceNoSlice · 16/02/2014 15:32

BadlyWrittenPoem you've been quiet recently - is everything ok? Your words of wisdom are missed.

Dita that sounds very much like BH to me. Jealous! I've never had one.

My bump is still very high. Looking forward to this 'dropping' y'all keep talking about. I'm 38+4 though so it is waiting pretty late! Maybe it won't drop? I measured my boobs for a nursing bra the other day and it was ridiculous - came out at something like 44A. I think it should be 38D or DD. I ended up buying some cheapie stretchy ones and hoping they'll do until my shape settles down a bit.

FrankelInFoal · 16/02/2014 21:37

My best friend came over today to drop off a pressie and said she thought I've got a few weeks to go yet. Her reasoning being baby is still wriggling/stretching a lot so isn't feeling the pressure to leave Grin we'll see I guess!

BSpice · 16/02/2014 22:21

Congratulations Lyra would love to hear ur birth story! Hope ur enjoying start of mat leave owl, I'm gonna make the most of it, as going back for 4.5 days after half term to finish things off! Visited birth centre yesterday & really hope we get water birth but not banking on it as the unit only has 2/3 women labour at 1 time. So I guess it will be pot luck! Did a quick Primarni shop today for Bridget jones pants, pjs, vests and flip flops so I can finish packing the hospital bag. Then had a surprise baby shower which was lovely as that has now started off my bag for bubba, which I had yet to organise! Especially as MIL has washed outfits she bought inc. a lovely knitted blanket. We played a game which has generated lots of baby names- good job as we hadn't started thinking of them! Not sure what we r having but finding boys names harder to think of!
Not sure whether my bump is high, low or engaged! Everyone has such diff opinions- but will find out tmrw at 36 week appt I guess!

dizhin79 · 17/02/2014 20:49

9 days left till mat leave definitely in count down, though this time next week it'll be even nicer.

Got the home birth kit dropped off last week, got last few bits and bobs for birth prep (mainly consisting of biscuits for the midwives). Also took advantage of boots 3 for 2 on baby stuff getting nappies, bed pads, and some nice calendula cream as the Freeby, also picked up the changing bag! Not sure what I'll do when I actually do finish work lol!

EmFlat · 17/02/2014 20:57

Believe me, Diz, once you factor in a lie-in, taking your time over breakfast, watching a few episodes of a boxset, having an afternoon nap, and then doing one or two small jobs a day... maternity leave days go surprisingly quickly! Wink

IceNoSlice · 17/02/2014 21:17

Diz - here's a job to add to your list. Replacing the biscuits you've bought for the midwives! They will look soooo tempting with that mid morning cuppa when your mat leave starts! Wink
