good luck yogi hope it goes without a hitch and speedily!

commsgirl · 06/02/2014 02:17

I thought it was a good idea to have a nap after work. I can confirm that it most definitely wasn't :(.

Lottie345 · 06/02/2014 04:49

Best of luck yogi

FrankelInFoal · 06/02/2014 07:33

Hope all is well Yogi

Is anyone else a one- woman central heating system at the moment? I seem to be roasting hot all. The. Time! I'm sleeping in just a t-shirt under a thin summer duvet and had to throw it off in the middle of the night as I was so warm Hmm

I also seem to be peeing every time I have a drink now, I've only been up an hour and I've already been 3 times!

36 week appointment tomorrow and getting our tour of the birthing unit Grin

PainAuxRaisins · 06/02/2014 09:32

Good luck yogi - keep us posted!

commsgirl · 06/02/2014 09:34

Yes Frank. DP had the heating on really late last night as he was working and his office is freezing. Felt like I was trying to get to sleep in a sauna!

FoxMulder · 06/02/2014 10:02

I'm really hot at work and yoga last night was like being in a sauna! But my house is cold. I'm glad baby isn't due for a few weeks because at the moment we would have to have the heating on 24/7. When I got in last night it was 9 degrees!

Why was having a nap after work such a bad idea comms?

commsgirl · 06/02/2014 10:27

Because it meant I didn't get to sleep until 4am. Naps always really mess my sleep up :(. Now sitting at work feeling absolutely terrible, I think I'm going to have to go home.

FoxMulder · 06/02/2014 10:43

Oh no, 4am?! Bloody hell, maybe you should go home then.

mrsmugoo · 06/02/2014 11:05

I struggle with napping too - unless I'm really strict and only have a power hour it messes up my sleep at night.

Flumpinblues · 06/02/2014 15:57

Hi all, newbie here. Sorry to join the party so late, have been lurking on and off for months. 35 weeks this week with EDD 19th March. I am still officially working full time but due to a rotten cold am at home trying desperately to feel normal and failing! So apologies that my first ever post on your thread is a whinge - I am not like this normally!!

Been reading the thread and boy, do you lot talk, lovely to have read that I am not alone, silly but especially with work I don't know anyone in RL who is this pregnant. I have ICP in Pregnancy which makes me itch like mad...probably having an ELCS at 38/39 weeks as a result. I have been poorly for 2 weeks with a cold which honey and lemon won't touch. Haven't been outside for days. I've been strict with naps too had my power nap for today so now holded up on the sofa!!

IceNoSlice · 06/02/2014 16:18

Welcome flump

That sucks comms Sad

Any news yogi??? Hope you're ok.

Last day of work tomorrow! Scary that I am now Full Term!

commsgirl · 06/02/2014 17:17

Welcome flump!

Hope everything's okay yogi.

Congrats on making it to mat leave Ice! Exciting that you're full term too! Not long to go now :)

We're going to look round the MLU tonight, excited!

dizhin79 · 06/02/2014 18:56

Yes to being hot I wake up soaking wet thinking Boob leakage then realise I'm just really sweaty! nice lol! my oh is a cold person and uses me as a hot water bottle which makes me worse!

MTBMummy · 06/02/2014 19:10

Anyone heard from yogi? Could this be #3?

Welcome flump

Desperately trying to get bump to move, really don't want to be heading off to MAU at this time of night and having to call neighbours to baby sit DD

Flumpinblues · 06/02/2014 19:22

Thanks for welcome. I've given up on sleeping with my OH who is like a radiator at the best of times. Have decamped to to half decorated spare room lol!!

Likewise I hope Yogi is OK. Would baby Yogi be the first Martian arrival?

commsgirl · 06/02/2014 19:47

Third Martian baby! I hope everything's going well for her.

MTB cold water, sugar, lie on your left side, give it a good prod. I'm sure you've done all this already and I'm sure everything's fine, best to get checked if you're worried though.

I'm so happy with the MLU, it's definitely choice number one if everything keeps going smoothly. Doesn't even feel like you're in a hospital.

dizhin79 · 06/02/2014 20:14

some cold ice cream or frozen yoghurt may get MTBbaby shifting, i've just ate some and am now getting booted!

puggywug81 · 06/02/2014 20:54

Is anyone else's OH a terrible horder? I'm really starting to panic, I'm 33 weeks now and he still won't declutter his collections (crap) both the living room and his side of the bedroom are an abomination, we even have 3 massive home brew jars of nasty wine which we will never drink bit he won't part with them! If all this stuff is still in the house when baby comes I will melt down!

Yogibear72 · 06/02/2014 23:26

Well I went back in for more monitoring today as I was still having contractions although they hadn't progressed to anything. And another internal exam confirmed that I wasn't dilating. However when they did a wee test there was traces of blood in my urine this time which suggests a urine infection. So the upshot of all this that I was given antibiotics and sent home with the contractions being blamed on an irritated uterus caused by the infection.
So sorry, but a false start for me folks Blush

All seems a bit odd to me that a urine infection can caused contractions Confused

puggywug81 · 07/02/2014 02:20

Aww yogi that sounds really stressful, I hope you are ok.Thanks

TotalShock · 07/02/2014 07:43

Hi everyone, haven't managed to get in for a couple of days. My nursery furniture arrived yesterday which seems surreal looking at it! ice I got the list, thank you so much, they are comprehensive!! Must print it off and tick off as much as poss!

yogi I hope you're doing ok xx

Welcome flump!

I'm no good at napping comms. I have tried but struggle to drop off but if I did nap I would be even worse at sleeping than I am now! Been up since about 4 today...

commsgirl · 07/02/2014 09:44

How stressful yogi. Look after yourself xx

Total I'm the same. Generally I just try and avoid naps completely. I'm sure I'll change my mind when baby's here though!

How are things MTB?

FrankelInFoal · 07/02/2014 15:46

Agree with the others Yogi, take things easy.

Had my 36 week check up today and all well - baby is head down and "a bit" engaged. Eek!

We also had a tour of the MLU which was lovely, I just hope I get to use it Grin

Yogibear72 · 07/02/2014 19:25

Welcome Flump

Naps are great. I've never been able to manage to sleep during the day but have had a couple of days this week where I've had a proper sleep for 20/30 mins or so on the sofa in front of the telly. It felt really good. Any longer and I probably would have been groggy. I think those of you that are having trouble sleeping at night and on maternity leave should give it another go Smile
