OwlinaTree · 04/02/2014 22:10

Come on baby mugoo TURN!!

TotalShock · 04/02/2014 22:27

Thanks ice. Any advice is great and that list would be fab if you could email it please. I would be the type to miss something really important or obvious!!

glitterhoops · 04/02/2014 23:18

I hunted for button throughout cotton nighties everywhere - found them in Matalan for £6 - though that was quite good, although last time was in a hospital gown.

total I have packed a tummy tubey grip for post csection - hospital should give you a bit and big knickers (£2.50 Primarni). Now searching for high waisted yoga pants.

Lottie345 · 05/02/2014 05:19

George at asda do some really comfy big pants (think £4 for 4 or 5). Got them in super huge size and when I tried them on at home I thought there's no going back!!

I've just been reading the jan 2014 thread for a bit of birth news excitement (darn insomnia) but ended up thinking aaaaaaarghhhhhhh what have we let ourselves in for!!!

glitterhoops · 05/02/2014 07:26

imeg I just borrowed a tens machine from free cycle, you have to buy electrodes still. I have to say, it was brilliant first time round!

glitterhoops · 05/02/2014 07:34

Eye mask and earplugs - that's what I really wished I'd packed. Post labour ward is bright, hot and full if screaming babies.

IceNoSlice · 05/02/2014 08:06

Total pm me your email address and I'll send you the list.

mrsmugoo · 05/02/2014 09:03

Matalan and ASOS both do good maternity yoga pants. I have a pair from each and have been using them as my PJ bottoms.

mrsmugoo · 05/02/2014 15:57

Quiet on here today - how is everyone doing?

Absolutely disgusting weather here today! Roll on end of day - DH is going to the cinema tonight so a nice quiet night home alone and probably asleep by 9.

Booked train tickets today for our last weekend away ever as just a twosome this weekend and then it's lock-down when we get back - pack hospital bag and no more long travels.

EmFlat · 05/02/2014 18:02

Aw, Mrs Wink Hope you have a gorgeous weekend!

I'm in trying-not-to-be-a-hypochondriac-and/or-panic mode... BP was 130/90 at Tues MW appt, have to go in again 2moz am for another check... no blurred vision/flashes or headache, and only feet are swollen. Oh, and zero protein. Struggling not to worry, can obvs only do what they recommend, but is hard not to think 'shitshitshitshit'. Really wanted natural start and labour/birth, absolutely despise the thought of induction ('THAT drip' - I've yet to hear a positive story about it!).
Sooo... . Pants, although no more than anyone on here has to deal with!
Can this be over now, please? Wink

Imeg · 05/02/2014 18:21

I thought we had more or less bought or been given/lent all the essentials, but have just looked at the gro-bag and it can't be used until 4kg, so unless I have a much larger baby than anyone seems to be expecting, will need to do some speedy shopping for bedding as currently only have one top sheet... Now I'm wondering what else I haven't got!!

IceNoSlice · 05/02/2014 18:56

Imeg have you any cellular blankets? That's what we used when DS was wee. Planning to use them again.

Yogibear72 · 05/02/2014 19:15

Things seems to be progressing for me. I was monitored at the hospital today and they see signs of early labour. Midwife who did an internal exam said she was surprised I was still walking as the head is about as far engaged as it could be. They wanted to keep me in for 24 hours but that's only because I'm not yet 37 weeks (36+2). I came home because my OH isn't due back from his business trip till this evening and I'm determined that he is with me.
Having said all of that they still can't say whether it will be hours, days or weeks.
However on the basis of what I've been told today, I've had to tell work to invoke maternity leave. I hope it's not weeks Confused

Imeg · 05/02/2014 19:30

Good luck Yogi - looks like you might beat me to it despite the same due date!

I do have some handknitted blankets which should be suitable, but would I need a sheet in between baby and blanket?

Yogibear72 · 05/02/2014 19:42

Thanks Imeg

I'm doing both flat sheet and blanket - the cotton cellular ones for cover. I'm glad I wash them all last Friday Wink used non-bio and white vinegar which is supposed to help with removing any lint from new fabrics.

mrsmugoo · 05/02/2014 19:58

Met my friend's 6 week old little girl this afternoon - am soooooo broody! Is broody even a "thing" when you're 34 weeks pregnant?

Yogibear72 · 05/02/2014 20:33

Any second/third/fourth etc timers on here with advise. Am absolutely bricking it. I'm not prepared for labour.

DitaVonCreamTeas · 05/02/2014 20:54

Evil weather here today in the Wild Wild South West, feeling tired and blah and bored with the burping and the aches and everything else. Oh woe is me. DC spent the whole time while I was at work today kicking and punching me really hard, made me gasp a few times. Now I'm relaxing on the sofa he's tired himself out and is only gently rumbling around.

Fingers crossed for you Yogi and Em Is everyone else finding these last few weeks as exhausting and nerve racking as the first few weeks?

EmFlat · 05/02/2014 21:30

Thanks Dita, but especially to Yogi!
Quite how much these last few weeks suck has taken me by surprise, but am sending loads of love to all the ladies on here... home straight! And we've all still got senses-of-humour intact (mostly), so everyone's doing great Grin xxx.

EmFlat · 05/02/2014 21:31

I meant 'fingers crossed especially for Yogi... not sure I wrote that in very good English Wink dur.

liberuna · 05/02/2014 21:43

mrs whst is Moxibustion?
Hope you have a lovely trip

Oh my goodness yogi ! Please keep us posted.

owl don't you dare. We have the same due date!

mrsmugoo · 05/02/2014 21:48

Moxibustion is a type of Chinese acupuncture where they don't actually use needles they burn a herb called moxa by one of your pressure points. Soundalike absolute hocus pocus but it has a surprisingly high success rate!

OwlinaTree · 05/02/2014 22:14

Oh yogi hope all is well. Thinking of you.

puggywug81 · 05/02/2014 22:54

Good luck yogi!!

commsgirl · 06/02/2014 00:04

Thinking of you yogi!
