Feeling pretty sicky and useless today. House is a tip but it's not going to be tidied. Ugh.

elliejjtiny · 24/12/2013 10:20

Morning everyone. Zing I'm definitely with you on the last baby front. DH has a vasectomy appointment booked from before we found out and I'm hoping they will still do it.

Plate I find consultants can be like that, as if they want to rush the people with boring problems through so they can spend time with the more interesting cases. I had 2 consultants last time, one for me (high bmi, asthma) and one for DS4 (cleft lip and palate). DS4's consultant spent loads of time with me and saw me herself with a couple of students in tow every time. My consultant mostly left me to her equally bored registrar.

Sickness not too bad now the lurgy is gone, just 5 times a day now roughly. The list of food I can't stand eating or cooking has increased though, including roast parsnips Sad and Chinese takeaway Sad Sad. I've also gone nearly veggie apart from beef for some reason.

Has anyone with a larger family noticed a lack of attention compared with previous pregnancies? I remember with DS1 DH went out to the shops on his bike to get me whatever I was craving. This time I tell him that the only meat I can eat is beef so he buys pork because it's on offer and then moans at me because even looking at it makes me puke. Doesn't help that SIL is expecting her first so she just says "I need doughnuts" and he rushes off to get her some. Maybe I should just ask BIL to do the weekly shop Grin.

fifi669 · 24/12/2013 10:20

Anyone got a Doppler? I've got one from when I had DS. Loved listening to his heartbeat, though I think I bought it when I was 16 weeks or so. Finding this baby more difficult to find. I'm not panicking or anything as I'm pretty sure I got it for a few seconds before baby objected!

elliejjtiny · 24/12/2013 10:22

That should be BIL rushes out to get her some. If DH was pandering to SIL's pregnancy whims and not mine he'd be in even more trouble!

ismarah · 24/12/2013 10:27

Great news on scans from everyone!

Is anyone having (or has had experience of) round ligament pain already? Kept having these weird pains last night in bed and Dr Google suggests that's what it might be but just wanted first-hand info x

Mrsc020987 · 24/12/2013 10:40

Hi quick update, had scan yesterday and due date 28th June, can i please stay here?? Baby was a wriggler but got some brilliant pictures! So excited and relieved everything is ok, wishing you all a lovely Christmas and hoping for less vomit and nausea over dinner (13 weeks and in still vomiting and not appreciating the waft of honey roast ham in the oven..which is my favourite!!!) Anyway off to track Santa and get even more excited as this is his first visit to our house!! ??

HomeIsWhereTheGinIs · 24/12/2013 11:11

Thank you casmama and theborrower! I shall go and hunt around for things that don't look too silly on me now then and hope that they stretch with me!

AuntieMaggie · 24/12/2013 11:24

ellie I've gone off meat too except bacon and hot dogs... doesn't help I've gone off veg too!

plate my consultant wasn't interested once she knew I couldn't pass my condition to the baby and didn't seem to care that it could be serious for me though...

ismarah do you mean in your stomach? yes I've had odd twinges of pain but all was ok yesterday

MrsA2 · 24/12/2013 11:38

Ismarah - yes I think I have. If I stand up too quickly I get a fairly sharp pain around the top of my right hip/pelvis. It's been happening for about two weeks (I'm 13 wks today).

ismarah · 24/12/2013 11:53

I've been having sciatica too but that's at the back, mostly when I've been driving lots. This is very much stomach / lower part related and is a bit stabby. Dr Google suggested it would be worst on doing things like standing up and changing position. That's not how it presented for me - I was on my side in bed. Worse on my left side than my right but it kind of lasted a while, not just a quick twinge and gone.

I just wondered because it seemed early - I'm not really showing anything other than bloat. 12+3 today. Second trimester on Saturday!

Thanks for reassurance ladies x

AuntieMaggie · 24/12/2013 12:23

ismarah do you have a tilted uterus by any chance?

BlueC2 · 24/12/2013 13:55

Sneaking in a quick lie down while DS asleep. DM and DSD arrived which is great, DBro SIL and kids here for the day tomorrow. Think I've got the food all planned now and my nausea seems to have lifted a bit - 11 weeks today-scan next Friday!

Re mat clothes I found a staple pair of black work trousers and jeans priceless. Personally I always got on better with under bumP styles but found those with wide elastic band type tops dug in. I also found sizing in JoJo came up big. And would second eBay for mat clothes-loads on there. Also try H+M they do a good range.

On the pain thing any chance it could be trapped wind? I was in agony when pregnant with DS and that's what it turned out to be Blush but lactulose is amazing!

Right might try and get some shut eye!

ismarah · 24/12/2013 14:44

Maggie I have no idea! Having my scan on Friday - is it something that would show in that? First bean, y'see..

AuntieMaggie · 24/12/2013 15:01

yes it showed up on mine yesterday - I knew I had it but forgot until the sonographer said. I looked it up last night and it can cause some pain in the first trimester.

ismarah · 24/12/2013 19:24

Just had to make myself a snack so I could then make dinner. This babymaking thing is wondrous

Although I wonder how I will cope tomorrow at in-laws without free rein in their kitchen for all my snack-making needs, having not told them about bean yet..

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 25/12/2013 03:07

We told the boys last night - they were happy, DS2 was very excited and kissed my tummy!Smile

we told them it's a secret till we have the scan - I wonder who will blab first!Grin

I managed to keep all my dinner down and had a sudden burst of energy to tidy kitchen - I'm really hoping this means MS is going.

hope scans went well and everyone can enjoy the celebrations without problems.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all!

BlueC2 · 25/12/2013 07:44

Fab news zing

Wishing everyone a wonderful christmas free from nausea and extreme tiredness!

I thankfully slept pretty well despite being on the futon as my parents have our room. Still woke up early though so cracking on with veg prep. Now how many sprouts to do for 6 adults and 3 kids Hmm :)

Have a lovely day all!

MrsB2013 · 25/12/2013 08:45

Merry Christmas everyone c

Blue - two? Two sprouts.

AuntieMaggie · 25/12/2013 10:19

Merry Christmas you lovely bunch of ladies xxx

getagoldtoof · 25/12/2013 11:42

Merry Christmas ladies. We had a great scan and we're having the perfect Christmas day with family, who are all delighted about baby nunber two, in an extremely understated way.

I am feeling rather unwell but am putting that down to half a box of thorntons before breakfast.

Have a great day!

MrsA2 · 25/12/2013 11:49

Merry Christmas everyone.

Feeling a bit ropey this morning but working my way through a box of biscuits is helping! Hope the nausea stays away for everyone to enjoy Christmas dinner.

Plateofcrumbs · 25/12/2013 15:16

Merry Christmas one and all!

I'm sat with feet up on sofa whilst family prepares Christmas dinner. Everyone is very happy about the news - I think most people had written us off ever having kids (have been together over 10 years) so much surprise and delight.

Xmas Smile
BlueC2 · 25/12/2013 19:52

Well I have survived the day without an afternoon nap and managed to cook all of the meal (I allowed 5 sprouts per person in the end and not many left over!). Not felt nauseous just draggingly tired and a headache all afternoon (probably tiredness). Hope you have all had a lovely day Xmas Smile

lemonpoppyseed · 25/12/2013 19:57

Merry Christmas, all! Currently having a 'nap' while the in-laws entertain DS. Have been feeling hungover all day (without the fun part, obviously), and am looking forward to the end of MS (or afternoon sickness, as it is for me). Told the family today, all very pleased! Grin
