MrsA2 - Cos don't have a maternity range but they have loads of tunic style tops and dresses which I hope will be great for the inbetweeny stage and for post-preg when body doesn't snap back. I'm still in hiding at work so have picked up a couple of dresses which I can start wearing now to conceal the bump but should still be wearable for a while yet.

Howly · 12/01/2014 12:22

I didn't realise these 'baby on board' badges were real!! I thought you were just talking metaphorically!! He he I'm silly! I don't really need one as my commute is 10 mins in my car but I nearly got squashed by yr10 boys in a packed corridor on Friday!

IHatePopUpTents · 12/01/2014 12:22

Wow, excited at the idea il be showing in a few weeks! Last time I didn't show until 18 weeks and just looked super fat!!

I bought some maternity stuff in the sale at Christmas, but three tshirt sand a pair of leggings isn't going to cut it when I have a 1yo slobbering all over me!!

Sorry to hear about those who are still ill, I had hyperemesis last time so I feel your pain!

AuntieMaggie · 12/01/2014 14:35

So the main next stores in Bristol don't stock the maternity range... wtf is that about? Anyway the dresses went straight back!

NancyinCali · 12/01/2014 15:00

popup yes I'm showing and I'm only 12 weeks but this is my 2nd. It's bigger in the evenings! Have got all my maternity stuff out already. Can still wear plenty of normal stuff too for now.

ismarah there's an old navy near me, might pop in when DD is in nursery on Tuesday. I'm definitely not fancy Grin

jaykay987 · 12/01/2014 15:15

auntie unfortunately this is the same in London. I've yet to find maternity in any store. Everything has been moved to online unless you go into a jojo mama bebe!

theborrower · 12/01/2014 15:23

auntiemaggie jaykay it's the same in Edinburgh but you can order at the till and they'll deliver to the store (and home, I think) and can return what doesn't fit etc. I had to do this but it was fine. If you order through the website you have to open a credit account with them, which is ridiculous

Plateofcrumbs · 12/01/2014 16:33

jaykay in London, Topshop Oxford Circus and H&M on Regent St both have maternity ranges in store - I've not found any others yet.

Plateofcrumbs · 12/01/2014 16:34

Oh sorry I think you were just talking about Next - ignore me!

talulahbelle · 12/01/2014 16:55

My local New Look has maternity wear in store. So far I have one pair of maternity trousers and a maternity top, courtesy of freecycle. Neither needed yet as I am in tunics and leggings at home and my work trousers were bought when I was a little larger. I'm hoping that June/July we get some nice weather and I can just wear my existing maxi dresses.

Has anyone started to think about mat leave? I want to take the full year off, which means cutting our expenses to the minimum. I'm hoping to work until the end of term, which is 37+6, and start my leave on my due date. Luckily summer term as a secondary school teacher with exam classes is always easier.

ismarah · 12/01/2014 18:46

Nancy I'm not sure how much they have in store tbh, but online has a bunch of stuff. I quite like their jeans because they cater for shortarses like myself as standard while it seems to be an afterthought in the UK sometimes.

No idea how / where I'm going to get mat wear in the UK that won't require my resorting to the scissors!

BlueC2 · 12/01/2014 20:13

ismarah Next do short leg length mat stuff though it sells out quickly! I have the same problem as you! Think I also saw some 28inch leg jeans on New Look website.

Anyone else still breastfeeding? I am DS and thought my milk supply would start to drop but seems to have increased (which suits DS a bit too well as he's a proper guzzlepants and loves his milk from mummy!) my nipples are also getting quite sore though-wondered if anyone else had/having similar?

theborrower · 12/01/2014 22:16

ismarah blueC2 I found some short length jeans from New Look on EBay, they fit brilliantly. Got two pairs for £2 plus postage. Bargain! But otherwise I've had to get trousers taken up.

turnwest · 12/01/2014 23:46

Anyone whose interested seraphine does good mat wear, comfy and well sized but it can be a bit pricey. Bought some black pants and summer dresses that fitted right to the end with my last pregnancy, definitely got my money's worth. I like asos too. Not too keen on next as I find the sizes enormous.

Anyone with two children who has used a double pram, what would you recommend. I m using an icandy strawberry at the moment for DS but I m a bit flummoxed by double prams, don't really like the look of any I ve seen yet.

NancyinCali · 13/01/2014 03:46

Oh I'd forgotten about ASOS maternity, just ordered a couple of pairs of jeans to try.

turn I don't know what to do for a double pram yet either. I think I prefer in-line ones rather than side-by-side. I'm going to wait until much nearer the time though and see how often we're actually using a buggy for DD1 by then.

rainbowweaver · 13/01/2014 04:02

blue am also still bf. Nipples also sore and I think milk supply has increased too. On the plus side, breasts don't hurt or feel swollen!

BlueC2 · 13/01/2014 07:25

rainbow sounds v similar then! Still wondering if DS1 will self wean (looking unlikely and he's nearly 20Mo!) so I may be heading for tandem feeding fun once baby arrives. Plus side is I will hopefully avoid mastitis this time as had it 3 times in first 6m with DS!

Re double pushchairs turn/Nancy I'm hoping to get a buggy board for DS as he'll be nearly 26m by then and already a good walker now. However I think my SIL has decided she's giving us her barely Phil and Teds double-im not keen on them as find them v heavy and clunky but I guess could come in handy (don't know why she doesn't sell in eBay-more money than sense!) maybe I'm just being ungrateful but we haven't got endless storage space! When I was looking myself I quite liked look of the icandy pear or peach-think they're the double ones though think all inline doubles bit of a faff to erect/dismantle in and out of the car!

Woken up with a headache and grouchy DS today-so glad he's going to childminder but I really need to get some work as none since end of Nov-starting to get scary with no pay coming in! Headache likely stress just thinking about it!

Happy Monday all!

BlueC2 · 13/01/2014 07:27

That should be barely used Phil and Teds - d'oh!

BlueC2 · 13/01/2014 08:22

14+2 today and just been sick again :( seems to be every 3 days Hmm which is a bit odd! Would like the 2nd trimester glow+energy to start now please :)

IHatePopUpTents · 13/01/2014 09:11

We have decided on the oyster max for our double, it's £££ but my dd will be 18 months so I can only imagine it will get its use!!

It's my scan today.. Handholding? I'm so so nervous I just keep bursting into tears, no idea why :(

BlueC2 · 13/01/2014 09:56

tents hang in there. Thinking of you today!

IHatePopUpTents · 13/01/2014 10:07

Thanks blue I think when we find out all is well positive thoughts.. we are going to buy a little baby grow or something, hoping it will make it feel more real!!

ismarah · 13/01/2014 10:34

I heard a lovely story from my sister. Someone she knee had their 20w scan just before christmas and the sonographer could tell the gender.

Instead of telling them, wrote it down on a piece of paper. Without looking at it, they took the paper to the nearest children's clothes shop and picked out one blue pair of shoes and one red pair of shoes, then went to the till with shoes and note.

They handed everything to the staff member and explained. Staff then looked at the paper and wrapped in gift wrap the corresponding colour shoes, which they then opened on Christmas!

Basically, Tents, I'm sure you will be fine.

talulahbelle · 13/01/2014 10:55

tents Hope it all went well. I cried before mine this morning too, it's the stress.

LaDay · 13/01/2014 11:55

Hello all, sorry for radio silence, I have been panicking quietly since my scan as had horrible nightmares since Christmas that someth
