Hello and congratulations to everyone joining us!!

MrsA thanks for the info on sizing!

Great news on the results Auntie, theborrower, osinachi and Dolly - wow 59000 is excellent!!

Brushing my teeth in the morning makes me gag, not sure if its the taste of the toothpaste or the actual brushing Confused

Good luck with the househunting/buying! Would love a bigger house, we have 2 bedrooms so will be fine for now, maybe in a few years we will be able to move!

OP posts:
NancyinCali · 12/01/2014 03:31

Good luck to everyone trying to move! We moved out here when I was 5 months pregnant with DD - the first half of my pregnancy was a blur as I was so busy. We're trying to work out when we might move back to the UK - whenever we decide it will be hard with two kids to wrangle this time.

Welcome to the new joiners!

I pulled out my maternity jeans today but they're too big still. May need to get a size smaller as I can't fit in my non-pregnancy jeans much longer. Haven't a clue where to go to get some. Was just looking at BodenUSA but I don't think I can bear to spend that much.

Plateofcrumbs · 12/01/2014 06:05

I think I might finally be starting to get my head round this whole pregnancy thing.

Y'know that point in a Spider-Man movie where Peter Parker stops being freaked out by his new-found superpowers and starts swinging from skyscrapers? Sort of like that. Only growing a baby is much awesome than shooting webs and climbing walls.

Had a lovely day maternity shopping (top tip: Cos is very good for clothes to conceal a growing bump) and then dinner out with DH. Still threw up on the way home and collapsed into bed in an exhausted heap before 9pm. But that's the price of having a superpower Wink

NancyinCali · 12/01/2014 06:10

I'm supposed to be having an early night (10.10pm now, past my bedtime) but just read your post plate and it made me laugh. Yay we're all superheroes Grin. Night all!

IHatePopUpTents · 12/01/2014 07:22

nancy are you showing already?!?! Is this your first? Second?
I want to be showing now [stroppy face]

I'm still in all of my old clothes :(

although my Sil who is 7 weeks pregnant is claiming to be showing so much she can't do up her jeans..... Anyone else think Christmas chocolate may be playing a part? Hmm Wink

MrsA2 · 12/01/2014 08:19

PopUp I'm definitely showing now - 15w5days for me. If I want to not show then only baggy sweatshirts will pull that off now and I still look like I've out on weight then! I was showing from about 12 weeks, though some of that was definitely bloat.

My jeans are out now. Luckily I have an older pair from pre-wedding diet (I was a stone heavier about two yrs ago) that still work but I'm on the hunt for decent maternity jeans.

I'm tempted by Seraphine as everything seems to rate them, but they are ££. If they last all the way through though then I guess they are a decent investment. Hmm...

AuntieMaggie · 12/01/2014 09:20

plate what is cos? I like the superhero thing :)

ismarah · 12/01/2014 09:31

Nancy If you're not too fancy, Old Navy do mat wear including jeans in short, reg and long. As does GAP, and as they are sister brands if you order from both it'll arrive in one parcel. Then return to store if needed.

ismarah · 12/01/2014 09:37

PopUp In weeks 6-8 my jeans were not fitting me. All just bloat. Week 10 they were fine. Week 15 now and there's a definite bump, although it's more prominent in the evenings..
I am 5'3" though so am told will show early / more as there just isn't much room for shifting organs.

Was quite happy in the supermarket yesterday as I felt like I looked more pregnant than fat, finally. Just in case anyone called me on my fatness, I guess. Weirdo.

Am I the only one counting the number of babies whose mind boggles at all that s e x we were all clearly having? No? I'll get me coat...

Plateofcrumbs · 12/01/2014 10:10

AuntMaggie - Cos is a clothes store - I guess their style is sort of 'minimalist contemporary' or something. Basically if you're looking for a smock dress in muddy green, or a tunic in mushroom, it's your go-to shop. I'm not sure I'm really selling this?! Anyway have a look

museumworker · 12/01/2014 10:14

hey all - had 12 week scan last week, it went really well. Right little wriggler, sonographer took his time getting the right measurements as baby would wriggle and turn over! Best 12 week scan I've had (this was at UCH).

Risks down to 1:4000 which v pleased about. Also given guestimate of gender to 70% accuracy! Due date moved back to 19th July (early scan put me at 26th July vs 12th by dates, this seems more realistic). If someone could update the list, that'd be great.

dollydaydream - I've been getting migraines (and in last pregnancy too). If you're getting frequently you can take low dose amitriptyline as a preventative. Speak to your GP for a prescription.

Very much showing, and now wearing my baby on board badge! I am short and it is my 3rd (although a friend thinks not showing as much as same stage last time).

Work took the news very well, have worked out due to amount of leave have to use, last day in office will be 23rd May!!! Think am more excited about the mat leave than the baby (mainly because will get lots of time with DD and DS).

museumworker · 12/01/2014 10:15

p.s. I got up too quickly today and blacked out. Oops.

AuntieMaggie · 12/01/2014 10:23

plate thanks I haven't heard of them before.

museum if I get up too quickly I get faint but haven't actually blacked out yet. I meant to get one of those badges in London the other day but forgot (and hopefully won't be going back...) but I think they may be useful to try and get people to just give me some space on normal trains - though I think they should be 50 times bigger!

AuntieMaggie · 12/01/2014 10:25

zing I've been reading the new bootcamp threads and getting all sentimental... theres no way I can join in this time as I can't even look at/smell most veg/meat/eggs so would leave me on a diet of cheese :(

Plateofcrumbs · 12/01/2014 10:44

I'm not sure I can bring myself to wear a "baby on board" badge - they were really getting on my tits while we were TTC as it just seemed like every other woman on the tube was wearing one. Which I know is totally unreasonable as I'm sure they're actually very useful when you need a seat on a packed train.

liquidstate · 12/01/2014 11:20

Also having problems brushing my teeth which makes me gag and retch for half an hour. Have taken to making sure I do a really good floss and then a quick brush.

Vomiting down to 4 times a day (from 15). Still trying to go back to work but my route to the office is flooded. Losing track of how many weeks I am pregnant as well. Is this baby brain??

Have a definite bump!

MrsA2 · 12/01/2014 11:23

Plate I can't spot a maternity range on the cos site - we're you buying normal sized clothes there or am I being dumb?

AuntieMaggie · 12/01/2014 11:30

plate I was thinking of the badges more so people stop walking into me etc rather than needing a seat on the tube. I also still have a sprained ankle from early Dec that I injured again last week and people are really getting on my wick!
