Zing - I live in those vests! Jeans/work trousers/under dresses - I literally wear one every day!

Though helps Ive always been a 'layerer' cause otherwise I tend to flash my boobs too much Grin

When are the 16week appointments coming up?

I am off to consultant next week, and have 16w the week after. But there must be people who got an earlier appointment. Who'll be first?

elliejjtiny · 10/01/2014 09:28

Feeling less sick today and absolutely starving. This must be the 2nd trimester starting. I'm 13+5 today.

marmite congratulations

re weddings. I've been to loads in previous pregnancies, mostly when I've been 12-16 weeks. I find elasticated skirts a couple of sizes bigger and a floaty top works best. My sister's wedding was a bit of a nightmare though as she got married in October. I ended up wearing all black with coloured jewellery and hair accessories to try and brighten it up.

fifi669 · 10/01/2014 13:05

My next appointment is the 21st. Told work today and they were great, I was nervous as last time I was pregnant I was made redundant from both my jobs!

Doodlequackquack · 10/01/2014 13:47

Thanks all. Thanks

The second scan confirmed the mmc, although this time the sonographer found my little bean, and estimated that it was 7 weeks or less in size.

They managed to book me in the next morning (yesterday) for surgery, and I'm relieved it's all over. The bleeding had stopped again, and since the pg had gone on so long already this really was the best option.

I feel a bit tired and achey, but not too bad and I'm being well looked after. The shock has passed a bit and I'm just going to concentrate on taking it easy and making sure I'm well before making any decisions about trying again.

Best wishes to all, I'll pop back in and be nosey when the babies start popping out! xx

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 10/01/2014 13:54

doodle
Thanks

I wish you all the best for the future.
don't be surprised if it takes a while to get brave enough to try again - it took me months after the EDD to even consider it.
a lot of people decide to try asap and I fully support their choices, but it's perfectly fine to wait, you can only tell if and when you are ready.

I'm glad you are looked after and I'm sending you big hugs and strength to cope with your loss. x

FlyLikeABird · 10/01/2014 15:06

So sorry to hear of your loss doodle, best wishes to you for the future Thanks

FlyLikeABird · 10/01/2014 15:17

I'm back after the sickness bug pre Christmas and a stinking head cold which took the shine off Christmas and lasted weeks. I feel much more human now.

I'm pleased to hear about your healthy scan results, I guess it will be nuchal results next. I feel really behind the rest of you, I'll be about 12 weeks tomorrow and will have the first scan on Thursday. So nervous as still no symptoms but I've been reassured by others that they had none either. No bump either.

I swear I felt it move though as it's such a unique feeling - I was massively freaked out because it's way too early Confused Hope I've got my dates right Grin

Now I'm better I need to decorate the house. I said I'd do it before DD arrived and she's 10 months soon so that deadline swooshed past. I'm aiming for end of June now so I can have one month off to relax in my beootiful shiny clean nest. Good luck with the extension ismarah!!!

kim222 · 10/01/2014 15:35

Hi, had my scan on Tuesday, due date now 23rd July! Seemed a lot more real! Haven't stopped window internet shopping since! Desperate for a bugaboo donkey (dd1 will be 18 months) but don't think I'll be able to convince the dh. We have an uppababy now which I love but don't like the look of the rumble seat. Far too early to be looking at this I know!

FlyLikeABird · 10/01/2014 15:46

Great news kim. I'd like a donkey too but realistically I'll probably get a wrap sling for the early days and a secondhand nipper 360. DD will be 16 months.

I don't know if you're all aware of the product boards on here? The pram and pushchair one has a lot of well informed pram addicts there with lots of guidance www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pushchair_chat

jaykay987 · 10/01/2014 16:33

That's useful, thanks fly. I only joined mn when we ttc, and I'm hardly ever on the computer, so I always stick to the same mn areas! I'm sure there's loads more I'm missing out on! Grin

HomeIsWhereTheGinIs · 10/01/2014 16:57

Doodle I'm so sorry to hear about your MMC. But it sounds like you're looking after yourself which is good and I'll hope to see you on the boards again soon!

We had our nuchal scan today and got the Harmony results too, 1:10,000 for Downs, thank goodness, and…it's a boy! Which, given that we had a girl's name already in place, means going back to the drawing board! I'm thrilled though, I hope he looks just like DH.

I'm in that irritating fatter-than-usual phase at the moment. Not large enough for mat clothes but big enough that I have to go around with my top button undone (charming!). Looking forward to the bump developing properly!

ellentullo · 10/01/2014 17:11

Bearing in mind that it isnt a good day for everyone - again sorry for your loss doodle - its a good one for me.

Dating scan today showed v wriggly baby. Big relief after 2 MMC in the last year. Due date now 15th July.

Googling pregnancy yoga, ballet and pilates. And seeking a ukulele...

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 10/01/2014 17:22

ellen
great news. and now you are also the same day as me (and others) - highfive!Grin

ellentullo · 10/01/2014 17:24

Yes - high fiving is something I should do more of. My dog does quite a good one....

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 10/01/2014 17:33

DS2 taught DD to high five and fist bump.
it's hilarious! Grin

roozocheeks · 10/01/2014 17:41

Sorry to hear your news doodle, make sure you do get support when needed. My sister had a mc just before I got pregnant and found that it didn't really hit home until a few weeks after Thanks

I have my 16 wk apt on tues, when I'll be 16+5 (got dates wrong at the start which is why I'm on the wrong board Blush). Really looking forward to hearing the heartbeat, fingers crossed!

I joined a preg yoga class last week and really enjoyed it, would recommend for anyone interested.
I have ordered some trousers from next which I'll hopefully get next week, really struggling to fit into anything, even without doing up top buttons!

MrsB2013 · 10/01/2014 17:53

Great news on the scans Kim, GinIs and Ellen! GinIs - great news on your Harmony test, and how exciting to find out what your having!!

I have my next mw appointment on the 20th when I'll be 16w+6

Does anyone have a strong feeling they know what sex the baby is? I'm convinced I'm having a boy!

Is anyone planning on going to the baby show in London next month?

MrsA2 · 10/01/2014 19:41

Plate thanks for the Gap sale heads up, ordered a pile of tops last night.

I'm normally size 10-12 for trousers, more like 10 for tops, here's what I've found so far:

  • I've bought some size 10 trousers from Next, they were a little tight at the top of my legs but wearable, a 12 definitely would be too big
  • Top size 10 from Debenhams Red Herring fits well with stretchy room for big bump, dress size 12 is massive front and back, very unflattering from the back, will be going back
  • New Look, size 10 tops and dresses were fine, size 12 trousers ok but I think once worn for a few hours will be too baggy around my knees and bum, size 12 tops really big around my boobs even though they've gone up two sizes so going back
So far going to the smaller size has been best each time.

My 16w appointment is next Friday, would be lovely if I can get to hear a heartbeat - fingers crossed.

In other news I'm savouring a small glass of red wine tonight after dinner. Have a Good Friday night!

MrsA2 · 10/01/2014 19:43

Oh MrsB I was convinced til 13 weeks I'm having a boy, but with high HCG now I'm wondering if it might be a girl. Not going to find out so will keep guessing!

BlueC2 · 10/01/2014 19:46

doodle so sorry to hear your news. Please take care.

Good to hear other good scan news. My next appointment is on 29th Jan.

So we have the ILs staying for the weekend and all of DHs 4 siblings plus partners plus kids coming tomorrow for big family gathering at our house. Thankfully DH finally feeling lot better but I am exhausted and now got a dodgy tum which has made me feel awful :( just hoping it's a one off and not a bug! Have got into bed so I can lie quietly and rest but wish my stomach would stop gurgling! Oh the timing!!

BlueC2 · 10/01/2014 19:54

Ps with DS we were convinced we were having a girl-obviously not though! We didn't find out with him and won't with this one either as like the idea of a suprise!

AuntieMaggie · 10/01/2014 19:56

For some reason DP thinks it's a girl...

I ordered a couple of dresses from next which I'm going to pick up tomorrow - I've still got some bigger size trousers and jeans which are ok for now then I'll do what jaykay did :)

Our nuchal results came over Xmas (much quicker than I don't expected) and were 1 in 6262

I'm having a 'are you sure I'm not just fat' phase. And I need bras -any advice on those?

Plateofcrumbs · 10/01/2014 20:09

Cheers MrsA2! Wine

roozocheeks · 10/01/2014 20:11

maggie, I got a maternity bra from debenhams. Just one to try as quick expensive, but I love it now! Nothing else comes close in terms of comfort and support.

No idea what we're having and no plans to find out (if willpower holds!) but DH told me yesterday he is secretly hoping its a girl ..although he would love a boy!

AhoyMcCoy · 10/01/2014 20:36

Question - on an NHS ultrasound picture, does anyone know what all the numbers/measurements along the top of the pic next to your name & DOB stand for?

My scan at 12 weeks had 8.3cm/1.4/21HZ along the top, but my friend had a scan at 10 weeks and hers said 12.9cm/ 3.4/ 24HZ. What does it all mean?! What of mine could be 8.3cm that hers is 12.9cm when her scan was 2 weeks earlier?! Any guesses?!
