Hello! Please could I join you? I'm due on 28th July and have my scan next Thursday when I'll be 12+4 Smile

BlueC2 · 09/01/2014 13:48

ismarah oh joy! That sounds like a real pain - how much are you showing? I had three weddings when pregnant with DS but they were when I was 8weeks 11weeks and 25weeks so first two I got away with normal dresses but had a nightmare with the menu as my pregnancy wasn't yet public but the latter one I had quite a bumP which thankfully detracted from my slightly less than conventional outfit :) this time I have my best friends wedding at the beginning of August and goodness knows what I'll fit into just weeks after giving birth Hmm. Good luck!

turnwest · 09/01/2014 14:44

Thanks for gap discount heads up plate, I ve bought quite a few plain long sleeve and short sleeve pure body t shirts. I lived in the sleeveless ones in my last pregnancy, found them so comfy.

jbiscuits · 09/01/2014 15:08

ismarah and blue - I'm bridesmaid for my sister in May which could be interesting. I'm not sure she's particularly looking forward to sorting a maternity bridesmaid dress along with all the others!

Sera77 · 09/01/2014 17:05

Oh golly...lots of Summer babies!! Happy days!! I am due 7/7/12!!

ImMarmite · 09/01/2014 18:32

I get we'd next Friday & due to last pregnancy ending in DIU we're still in secret...finding a dress was a little difficult lol...

Howly · 09/01/2014 19:27

I've 4 weddings from March to May plus 2 hen do's! Having all manner of fashion nightmares but have seen some lovely maternity dresses on Tiffany Rose, I may get one for the wedding my husband is best man at!

I've had a brill day today, having been completely exhausted at the beginning of the week leading to me being in bed and asleep at 8pm both nights I seemed to have turned a corner today and have lots of energy and my motivation to do my teaching job! I hope this lasts, I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and if my morning sickness disappears tomorrow like the books suggest then this baby is exactly like me with its routines and time keeping (I hate being late)!

Got my 20 week scan date through too - 7th March!! All very exciting and i'm relieved that tonight I am positive and I like being pregnant!! (other days this has not been the case!!)

oooooh and I bought some lovely comfy maternity clothes from next which are an absolute dream to wear, i'm so glad I got them, I was thinking about holding off until I got a bit bigger but went online last night and bought work trousers, a pair of jeans, 2 pairs of leggings and a lovely floral top to wear to work! The trousers are so comfortable, they make me feel so much better about being bloated!

Plateofcrumbs · 09/01/2014 19:30

I'm so gutted about the idea of maternity leave. I really love my job (despite whining about the hours and stress). Was talking to my boss today about plans for year and when got to August and it dawned on me I wasn't going to be there I nearly cried. My work is related to politics so the run in to next year's general election is really important and I can't believe I'm going to miss it.

coco808 · 09/01/2014 19:47

I've got two weddings and two hen do's too.
I checked out tiffany rose yesterday and loved it too howly

bought a dress from Isabella Oliver too, which is soooo comfortable!

coco808 · 09/01/2014 19:48

I know how you feel plateofcrumbs I'm finding it very difficult to plan my maternity with work and hate the thought of being off. Finding my replacement at the moment, but don't want to get someone better than me Grin

jaykay987 · 09/01/2014 20:16

Congrats marmite! How exciting! Everything sorted? Or have you a manic week ahead?

ismarah · 09/01/2014 20:28

Congrats Marmite!

I'm showing more in the evenings than in the mornings, but it's mostly the formality involved that I will struggle with. I'm much more likely to be wearing a short dress and boots, than a cocktail dress and a hat. Plus the main will be guinea fowl - WATF.

Just freaked out DH by having an allergic reaction to my salad. Thankfully this one doesn't seem too bad - anaphylaxis is always a worry with me which wouldn't be too healthy for bean.

AuntieMaggie · 09/01/2014 20:33

I ordered a pair of leggings, jeans and a top from Next last week - still haven't tried them on though! I might order a couple more things delivered to store for the weekend... which trousers did you order howly? I was going to hold off too but being back at work this week and sitting at a desk all day my usual clothes feel like they're cutting me in half. As for my bras... well this morning there was a trace of a mark from the bra I wore yesterday Blush

Plateofcrumbs · 09/01/2014 20:35

Hey congratulations marmite how very exciting! Getting married with a secret bean is rather lovely Smile

coco don't even start me thinking about recruiting my maternity cover - am I allowed to choose someone deliberately rubbish? Grin

oo00PIXIE00oo · 09/01/2014 20:43

Hi ladies I gave in and tried on my jeans from next last night - we have dress down Fridays and am looking forward to wearing them tomorrow they are so comfy.

Been having little niggles today like you get when you over stretch - trying not to panic, though the girls at work noticed a baby bump today so hoping the niggles are just growing pains fx

coco808 · 09/01/2014 20:56

I think we are plateofcrumbs Wink

Howly · 09/01/2014 21:26

Auntiemaggie I ordered the black narrow band boot cut trousers for work, I like next as they do long length, I've tried them on and they are great!

MrsB2013 · 09/01/2014 22:01

What is the sizing like for Next? I'm usually in between sizes so it can be a pain trying to find normal jeans to fit. If you order to store and it doesn't fit can you get a refund there, or does it have to be sent back in the post?

OP posts:
jaykay987 · 09/01/2014 22:12

you can return to store.

I think I ordered about 12 pairs of jeans - a few different styles in a variety of sizes. Then went to store to collect - tried on in changing room, abd returned the majority at the till!

oo00PIXIE00oo · 09/01/2014 22:31

MrsB I too am I between sizes and my jeans are the small size with the narrow band and they fit perfect with room to grow :)

I'm having trouble finding tights - any suggestions anyone?

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 09/01/2014 22:40

try mothercare or H&M

once you know your size Ebay is your friend

Plateofcrumbs · 09/01/2014 22:41

I just got an Isabella Oliver dress on ebay that I was planning to buy anyway for half the price I'd have paid new. Hoping it's the right size!

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 09/01/2014 22:46

btw I do have some used maternity clothes/breastfeeding tops that are too small for me.
if anyone is interested PM me and I'll check what I have and will post if you cover p&p charges.

(I think that's ok to say, isn't it?)

the one thing I find invaluable right now are long vests that cover my bump and bottom - I hate it when either get cold!
I bought lots of nice H&M ones on Ebay and highly recommend them.
they will be great in the summer too, easy wear.

I

coco808 · 09/01/2014 23:11

I just got outbided on an Isabella Oliver dress on e bay. Was it you plateofcrumbs lol Envy

Plateofcrumbs · 09/01/2014 23:31
