Ok so I'm 16-17 weeks but the sickness is still here and tiredness hasn't gone anywhere either. What's going on?? Even DH is fed up, he basically asked me to stop lying around and 'do something around the house' this morning.. I feel cross but to be fair he is doing everything, including all the food shopping and cooking, and I'm not easy to cook for as 90% of stuff makes me even more sick :/ But there isn't much I can do when my energy is so low... Anyone else out there feeling miserable...?

I certainly have a bump, no doubts about that! Bought some trousers and work skirts online from m&p and jojo - not sure if they will fit as my sizes are slightly wacky at the mo. Also ordered a dress and some tops from the white stuff - really really hope they will fit me!

mylittlel · 29/12/2013 22:04

Have a look at New Look i liked lots of stuff from there maternity range

superlambanana · 29/12/2013 22:11

I got some good stuff in the jojo maman bebe sale yesterday - eg work trousers £14. I love their stuff but usually it's too expensive so I was quite chuffed.

Mitchell2 · 29/12/2013 22:13

Hi sleepy waves from couch where I've permanently set up camp . 16 weeks and feeling exactly like you. DP is being a star though and really stepping up doing almost everything (although I think it's wearing thin). I get spurts of energy so help when I can but to be honest am a bit useless. It's more my guilt that is annoying me as I want to help. But baking babies is hard work!

SleepyNess · 29/12/2013 22:17

Mitchell, hang on in there! Sofa is my best friend too, feeling so annoyed by this, never felt so helpless!!

CleverOl10 · 29/12/2013 22:59

Sleepy and Mitchell, let me join your club!Sad Sick yesterday and so tired all the time. Food is unappealing, am eating because I have to, doesn't feel right at Christmas! What is worse is I'm staying at my parents and so is my sil who is 31 weeks pregnant yet she seems fine and capable of anything and I'm the one appearing lazy and rubbish. I feel like a fraud but just trying to keep a happy face. Can't wait to get back to my own sofa with DH indulging my every request!

BEEwitched · 29/12/2013 23:01

I'm utterly exhausted all the time. I now have this new thing where I cook a meal and even a simple dish that only takes 20-30 minutes to cook leaves me so knackered I have no appetite and feel revolted by eating it.

I cooked a roast today and it was actually easier because I just bunged the meat in the oven and had 1 1/2 hours to sit on my bum, and the potato duplings were ready made and the veg was frozen.

DH has painted a bit of the living room today and assembled our new coffee table, my and the dog have just watched him from the sofa.

BaldHedgehog · 29/12/2013 23:15

Clever not every pregnancy is the same-some women feel fine some don't.Don't compare.

Hope everybody had a nice Christmas :)
Jealous of all you lucky ones getting the bargains on sales-going to town tomorrow but with DS and DH and both of them hate shopping, there's nothing here anyway.

I couldn't resist and stuffed myself with brie and pate now you can tell me off
DS running full charge every day, even looking at him makes me tired.
Got a letter from NHS-low risk of Down Syndrome and my scan will be on 31 January. Will be 19 weeks then.
I won't be surprised if I end up with July baby as DS was 2 weeks late.

hackneybird · 29/12/2013 23:27

bald I had a bit of Brie on a cracker yesterday. Just a small piece but it was sooooo good. I washed it down with three sips of wine. Delicious. I swear when this baby is born I am going on a cheese and wine binge.

A friend of mine is really, really into her smelly cheeses, so when her first son was born I bought her a load of Brie as a present. :)

Am with the tired ladies. When is this phase going to end? I just feel totally drained and wiped out all of the time. I'm being a very poor mother to my son too - I'm just not spending enough quality time with him. It's not good.

SarahSPT · 30/12/2013 02:19

Sorry for all of those feeling rubbish still, how crap to still feel like that Sad and I hope you all start to feel better and more energised very soon. There's no way I could have travelled away if I still felt rough, it was bad enough having to cycle to work up until December when all I wanted to do was curl up like a hedgehog, sleep and eat bread based products.

My excuse for a 'bump' is only obviously when I lie down and the lower part of my stomach is like a rock. I also had a throbbing pain all day yesterday on the left side of my pubic bone - anyone else had that? Read that it's either stretching of ligaments or the baby lying really low. Bit bloody sore and some people said that it remains the whole of the pregnancy and gets worse! Gaaaa!

Bumblebeesmum · 30/12/2013 05:37

Hackney I'm being an appalling mum I totally understand the guilt it's so hard

I wake up at 3ish every night with a thumping headache my toddler wakes between 4&5 every morning my husband gets up with him but he's so noisy it's hours before I sleep again & hours later before I can crawl out of bed. I feel so rough & am so fed up of being pregnant already I just want it to be June.

Sorry for the whinge just feeling very miserable :(

MarlenaGru · 30/12/2013 08:38

Sorry we are all feeling so miserable. It will get better soon, but I can't help feeling jealous of those who make pregnancy look easy! My sil seemed to just be fine both times, but then her dh does everything anyway.

I want to nominate my dh for most insensitive comment ever. Getting into pjs last night he says "Oh, you can really see your stretch marks now!". Thanks dear. Hmm

Vickyvix · 30/12/2013 08:38

Welcome sarah and acixxx good to have you on board.

Sorry to hear some of you are still suffering, hope you all feel better and get some energy soon.

I'm suffering with tiredness but not sickness (touch wood) so currently resting whilst DH is galavanting around the mountains (we are on the ski holiday I asked you all for advice about back on thread one or two). I'm getting into the routine of breakfast, then rest, then lunch, then rest, maybe a bit of light skiing after lunch and then much more resting!

Hoping to get some nice clothes in the Fat Face sale they have some lovely casual dresses, have looked at maternity stuff in a few places but when I tried it on it made me feel so frumpy (apart from the jeans which are amazingly comfortable).

I have a small bump, the bottom of my stomach is rock hard but the bit above is probably just fat from all the Christmas chocolate Blush

Redcliff · 30/12/2013 09:32

Not that I'm glad you guys are feeling rough but so nice it's not just me. Just managed to put some washing on and put some dishes in to soak and need a sit down. Anyone else sleeping badly ? Ii keep waking up around 5ish and taking about an hour to get back to sleep. My mum phoned at 8 this morning waking me up and then DS woke at 8.15! Have snuck back to bed for a short nap but have a whole day site seeing planned for today so will have to get up again soon ahhhhh!

superlambanana · 30/12/2013 09:51

I'm with the tired ones... Where is this mythical, energetic second trimester?? It's lies, I tell you, all lies!!!

summerbaby2014 · 30/12/2013 10:04

Also exhausted all the time, and look like crap too. :(

DH is being fantastic and doing pretty much everything without complaining. He does come out with some gems though..."why are you tired when you haven't done anything?" And "you never normally snack this much" He's joking but he usually gets a grumpy response.

I'm taking him out for a day of fun in jan to make up for my grumpiness, hopefully I'll be able to stay awake for it :)

Back at work today, I might just have a nap on the desk

bellygazing · 30/12/2013 10:11

Hi all! I am soooo tired still so sympathies to all. Have been getting nasty headaches which may be due to me weaning off anti-depressants - which would be preferable oddly as it means they'll be gone in a week. Christmas has been lovely but not without drama as there is a lot of unpleasant stuff going on with my sister. Yesterday was lovely though - last minute visit to a friend ended up with an impromptu reunion with our gang involving pub,dog walking, cheese and two different houses. My daughter and another three year old were playing a chaotic game which involved running to one side of the pub then running back and each giving me a hug. I really liked it :). Got home at about 8 completely exhausted and have no energy this morning. Pool!

MarlenaGru · 30/12/2013 10:54

I am at work too. Trying to do a million pivot tables whilst not falling asleep.

SleepyNess · 30/12/2013 10:56

Bumble, I'm with you on 3 am headache!! Still waking up with a splitting headache every day and that's often at 3 am... Obviously vivid nightmares don't help much...

SleepyNess · 30/12/2013 10:59

But all the moaning aside, I think I'm starting to feel the baby!!! Tiny little bounces from the inside which I can no longer blame on guts : P :)

BEEwitched · 30/12/2013 11:08

My babycentre email tells me I'm halfway through - just terrifies me, I've felt like crap, I feel worse now than I felt the last few weeks, and this wee pea pod is growing to 10x the current size in the next 19 weeks!

I'm sorry you're all still feeling rough, I couldn't sleep at all yesterday and finally dropped off at around 2:30am, woke up with a headache with the room spinning all around me. Need to get some food down or I'll feel worse.

I can't wait to talk to the midwife tomorrow and see about getting my cervix examined, I'm feeling really scared of my 20 week scan in a week's time...

Mitchell2 · 30/12/2013 11:30

Another worker - at least its desk bound so have set up camp here and now getting my team to fetch me tea etc Smile

Wow bee 20 weeks already! So Envy. I understand the concern though. I'm sure the midwife will be able to check you over and the little ones heartbeat and get you in for scan earlier if she is concerned as well.

My 20 week scan isn't until 21 weeks so I have 5 weeks to wait. Actually thinking of having a private one earlier again as I had some issues before Xmas with pain and ended up in A&E (mystery debilitating pain to the right hand side where my ovaries are). They didn't do any scans, and seemed to think everything was fine but the Gynae did have a look of concern when I said that my scan wasn't until 21 weeks.

BEEwitched · 30/12/2013 13:03

Aww, the baby outfits I bought in the Polarn O. Pyret sale have arrived and they're so cute! I always buy their clothes for newborns as presents so it was nice to get some for myself for the first time. They're just so cute!

CleverOl10 · 30/12/2013 13:23

I am 17 weeks tomorrow and have my 16 check up on Friday (late due to Xmas). Am definitely going to ask to hear the heartbeat. My scan seems so long away and next one not for three very long weeks. Just feel the need for some reassurance that there's still something in there! I know that sounds daft, especially as I'm still tired and sick but I just want to know. Haven't felt any movement I don't think and as this is my second I kinda thought I would. Unnecessary paranoia kicking in Blush

wispaxmas · 30/12/2013 13:32

BEE, are you our first 20wk scan? When next week is it? My scan is 14 Jan and I'm getting so impatient!
