clutter It looks fabulous, especially in the grey!

Wouldn't want to try those wheels on sand though, but it looks absolutely perfect if you're not a seaside dweller.

Bezzabelle · 12/12/2013 17:32

Hi all, haven't posted for ages but been reading. My due date moved to 31st may. Am 15 + 5 today and still throwing up every morning but not all day like it was for first few weeks. Alarmingly I weighed myself this morning and was in shock. In week 8, I had lost 7 pounds from throwing up so much, have now put that back on plus an extra ten pounds- eek!!! Think I've been eating too much to make up for not being able to eat for ten weeks!! Anyone else found the same? Got a proper bump now but think its because its baby number 2.

We did Nct classes with ds and I didn't really go for the content but the meeting people and it was a lifesaver- also did the early days post natal course and meeting up with people in the same boat as me kept me sane in some up and down moments and we could share stories on sleep deprivation and colic! Def worth it- all meet up still now and seeing our babies grow into toddlers has been very special.

Been lovely hearing about all the great scans although been some very sad news too. Hope everyone nearing the 'glowing stage' now.

CleverOl10 · 12/12/2013 17:40

Wow lots of chat today!

Congrats to your DH bumble!

I'm having good and bad days at the moment which is an improvement on all bad days so can't complain!

Liquidambar · 12/12/2013 17:41

Marking my place!

Busy day at work and ds is unwell. It's so expensive to have a baby sitter while we are at work! !!

Re prams. We have a Phil and Teds. I love it and it's great for all types of terrane. The only thing is that it is a bit heavy to carry when folded. Might buy a second chair for Ds although he will be 4 by then...

MarlenaGru · 12/12/2013 17:45

bezza I have a proper bump too and only 13 weeks tomorrow. Last time I had nothing until 20 weeks so am slightly concerned I will be an elephant by end of June.

I am wearing my first maternity trousers today. They are so bloody comfortable! Now I just need to find some bras to fit my mahoosive chest and I might be vaguely comfortable.

MarlenaGru · 12/12/2013 17:48

I am another who can't recommend NCT enough just for the social side. Skip the breast feeding class if you can as ours was utter shite. She told us how breastfed babies need no winding, if you find it painful you are doing it wrong and basically fed us a lot of propaganda which if I hadn't been determined to persevere might have put me off breastfeeding! For the record it hurts like hell in the first few weeks until your nipples toughen up (or you are very lucky) even if your latch is perfect and some bf babies require a lot of winding due to having severe allergy related reflux. Rant over. Sorry!

wispaxmas · 12/12/2013 17:49

Vicki, you're an absolute star!

jessie, And here's a buyers guide for all terrain pushchairs. Do go into store and ask to see any all terrain models they have.

Bumblebeesmum · 12/12/2013 17:51

NCT is basically a way of meeting posh friends as it's obviously quite expensive. I did it & thought it was pretty good not necessarily content but meeting people & knowing what sort of things I wanted to go away & read further on (I over research everything!)

But if you can't afford it there are free NHS courses & lots of Breastfeeding and baby groups which can be just as good for meeting people.

So whether I recommend it really depends what you're hoping to achieve!

wispaxmas · 12/12/2013 17:53

Wow, forgot to paste the link. Go me! www.bounty.com/product-reviews/pushchairs/all-terrain

mylittlel · 12/12/2013 17:56

Bezzabelle, how did you cope with sickness? anything can trigger mine and there are days when i feel sorry for myself) always have a bottle of water and an apple

Bezzabelle · 12/12/2013 18:00

Mylittle- I am still in anti sickness tablets, take b6 vitamins and had acupuncture- literally tried anything. In bad days, lived on melon and jelly to keep me rehydrated. Now I have to eat every two hours else nausea sets in. So have cereal when first wake up, then mid morning have beans on toast, then a sandwich for lunch and fruit in between. Normal dinner now. Still of tea and certain smells set me off but much more manageable than it was though.

mylittlel · 12/12/2013 18:12

Bezzabelle, hope it will go away soon, mine sickness out of my control, some days its slightly better but come evening its back and every time i eat i have an aftertaste of food in my mouth which is annoying

SarahAnderson · 12/12/2013 18:22

Just looked at the NCT classes. In my area they're on Wednesday evenings (fine), with one session on a Sunday (fine) ... and a random women-only one on a FRIDAY MORNING. Seriously.... antenatal, not postnatal.... do they think women don't work?!

Lmf679 · 12/12/2013 18:23

Just booked tickets to the baby show in February at excel centre. I figure it's a good way to see all the brands in one place and maybe some I wouldn't have known about. Has anyone ever been to one before?

Bumblebeesmum · 12/12/2013 18:33

Haha Sarah that's funny (not in a good way) - it looks like we were quite lucky all of our sessions were week day evening including the women's Breastfeeding session. Have you got a nearby town you can look up? You don't want to venture too far though or it'll defeat the point in meeting people

SarahAnderson · 12/12/2013 18:45

Nah - I think I'll just skip that session. Oh well.

chestnutmare · 12/12/2013 19:21

I'm due 15th June, I'd like to be in that list! Smile

Jessiebaba · 12/12/2013 19:21

Thanks wispa Xmas Smile

noseymcposey · 12/12/2013 19:35

Another one that would totally recommend NCT classes. Even if you know a lot of people locally, chances are that they won't be around in the day. I think I would have gone insane without my NCT group with DS - they gave me something to make myself get dressed and go out for. And we are still a close group of friends nearly 3 years later.

The content of the classes isn't all that helpful, especially if you do a lot of reading/research yourself but I think they are still worthwhile.

SarahAndrerson you are entitled to paid time off work for antenatal classes which is why I think it's not perceived as an issue to have one session during the working week. My work didn't have a problem with me taking the morning off to go.

mylittlel · 12/12/2013 19:40

its quiet expensive going out event) is it any different from nhs? im just thinking we wil have to spend a lot on equipment and then on baby, why to pay so much if you can get courses for free or use internet?!

MarlenaGru · 12/12/2013 19:40

We had a woman only one in the day too. Some were already on maternity leave and others of us were happy to have a day off! I was always happy to get out of work when in late pregnancy. It is so tiring growing a human!
