I have my 20 week scan next Monday at 16:10pm! I'm still unsure whether I will actually be 20 weeks by then, but as this is my 'official' dating scan it's the date I have to go by at the moment!

I also have a reassurance/gender scan booked for the 21st of January, just to keep an eye on things.

I've just had to send DH a very stern email - he's a programmer for a medical company and he's just emailed me to say he had to shave his chest today. FFS. They always need volunteers for their stupid machines and he comes home with beeping devices stuck to him, has to shave his chest and then gets a rash from the glue pads. I told to bloody well stop volunteering! I'm tired of resting my face on a stubbly itchy surface, sleeping is uncomfortable enough without added unexpected chest stubble attacks!

superlambanana · 30/12/2013 14:11

My scan is on 4th feb but seeing midwife on 16th jan so I'm hoping to hear the heartbeat then. I'm desperate to feel it move - anxiety kicking in again now!

Mitchell2 · 30/12/2013 14:24

Another with anxiety issues - really want to hit the sales and get some nice baby stuff but my midwife appointment isn't until next week and scan isn't until Feb so don't want to jinx myself!

BEEwitched · 30/12/2013 14:29

I'm still really worried about the blood results I had for Trisomy 18 and the bloody discharge I've had twice in the last few weeks - I had a good cry over DH yesterday but things seem to be growing and getting more achey, so I am just hoping it's my body being crap and baby being good.

I am terrified of looking at that ultrasound screen next week, though.

GillyBillyWilly · 30/12/2013 16:39

Ive got my 20 week scan booked for 20th jan when I will actually be 21 weeks on the dot.
Been shopping today but stopping myself from buying any baby things until after the scan... I'm a worrier!!!! Blush

Can I join the 'still feeling miserable' gang? I've not had sickness for a few days but I'm still exhausted all the time and was back at work today Sad Marlena I feel your pain with regards to staring at pivot tables!!

Sorry Bee but your DH's shaved chest did make me giggle Blush

We ordered our pram yesterday (it was on a good deal and I was worried it would go back up to full price if we left it) but now I'm panicking that I've gone and ordered it too early! My 20 week scan isn't until February! Shock

Also booked the gender scan today for 1st February...

bellygazing · 30/12/2013 18:20

I have had to buy a few maternity clothes as nothing really fits around the waist. Anyone else's area threatening to take over the world??? I am unlikely to buy any baby stuff until last minute as still have loads from DD and also hoping to scavenge off a few friends with smaller babies... Does anyone else have a ludicrous amount of appointments booked in the new year? I have one on 7th and 8th Jan, then scan 28th Jan, then another 12th Feb. Plus I have to see my GP around end of Jan! One is the normal 16-wk appointment, then I'm guessing one is consultant appt cos of previous , and not sure about the other - might be a glucose tolerance test because type 2 diabetes runs in my family or because I asked for a home VBAC.

bellygazing · 30/12/2013 18:21

Previous C section that is.

superlambanana · 30/12/2013 19:04

Rubbish day Sad My dog snapped at SIL, which she hasn't done for months and we thought she'd got over it. I then discovered, on trying to spend it, that a £50 theatre voucher MIL gave me has expired and they won't accept it, and now it appears that DH has broken the toastie maker I got for my birthday because he didn't think that running the whole thing under water to clean it was a problem. Angry Have been in bed all afternoon as I'm so tired and now I have to go bowling for BIL's birthday when all I want to do is curl up and watch tv.

MarlenaGru · 30/12/2013 19:08

belly I only have one on 7th (16 weeks) and scan in early February. I guess previous section means more appointments.

I have just got some baby clothes I ordered for a friend and they are so teeny weeny and cute! Her baby was born very early so even though they are newborn I think they will be huge on him for a while still.

MarlenaGru · 30/12/2013 19:11

super rubbish about the bowling and toaster maker. I would be sulking about both! Scary about the dog. That must be tricky with baby coming too Sad

jessie no idea how I survived the spreadsheets but I did! I have to work tomorrow too
Don't stress about having ordered a pram. It was sensible to get it on sale. What did you get? I am desperately trying to get dh to ask DBil if we can have our car seat and isofix back... If they have sold it on I will throw a huge fit!

mylittlel · 30/12/2013 19:17

superlambanana sorry to hear about your unluckiness...maybe if you sandwich maker it will be working ok?! i always wash mine under water obviously avoiding wires and it works ok

mylittlel · 30/12/2013 20:01

*i meant if you dry sandwich maker

CleverOl10 · 30/12/2013 20:07

Hope tomorrow is better for you, super

MinaLeeds · 30/12/2013 20:07

We're in Kenya! Been enjoying the delicious food and eating waaaay too much. I think the weight might be about to go up finally now. Lol!

On another point...felt baby move for the first time on the morning of the 28th. Only it's not little flutters like butterfly wings...it's more like a troupe of miniscule elephants trampling my kidneys. Big kicks following by lots of little shuffly movements. It's very reassuring but I wish he/she could be more delicate about it!

SleepyNess · 30/12/2013 21:45

We went over for a christmas drink to the neighbours that we get on with. Although we announced our pregnancy right away, that didn't stop them from sm

SleepyNess · 30/12/2013 21:48

...oops

... from smoking all the time which is what they always do but I had hoped they might be a little bit more sensible this time.. Nope!!! The problem is, we like them and they always invite us for dinners etc, but now I feel like avoiding them for the rest of the pregnancy because I don't want to smother my child in smoke! Am I being unreasonable??

ItsaWonderfulLifeofGru · 30/12/2013 21:55

sleepy that's a tricky one especially if you heron well. We have friends who sm

ItsaWonderfulLifeofGru · 30/12/2013 22:03

Oops posted too soon.
We have friends who smoke and thankfully they go to their patio doors. I am allergic to cigaret smoke and it physically makes me feel awful. Regarding second-hand smoke maybe once you left the other night they might have realised and discussed smoking in your company. Do thy have children?
marlena just signed up for ravelry. Looks good.

Packing bag after bag for our return home to UK on Thursday. Really looking forward to gettin home. And can't wait to try on my huge asos maternity order. Regular jeans are getting uncomfortable around the tummy now!

noseymcposey · 30/12/2013 22:06

bellygazing I have a similar number of appointments to you as had previous C-section. How did your request for a home VBAC go down? they don't support home birth or water birth after C-sec here, and at best will support me being intermittently monitored (every 15 mins) instead of continuallly... Can I ask what made you want to go for a home VBAC (apart from obvious benefits of home birth.) I love the idea of going for a homebirth again but am feeling too nervous to go against official advice! I wanted a homebirth with DS but my waters went in early labour and there was meconium in the waters so I had to go straight into hospital onto the high risk ward and it all rather deteriorated from there..!

Smoking is a tricky one.... could you invite them to yours instead? And if you don't already, then ask them to smoke outside due to pregnancy? Might get the hint!

SleepyNess · 30/12/2013 22:10

No, they don't have any kids, they're our parents' age, very intellectual (both professors). It's such a bummer really! She was practically smoking into my face :( I don't think they realise the dangers of passive smok

SleepyNess · 30/12/2013 22:11

Ouch!

..smoking, they are totally addicted to their cigarettes unfortunately :(((

SleepyNess · 30/12/2013 22:15

They smoke outside when they come to ours. But they are the ones constantly inviting us over which is lovely and we don't want to offend by refusing... Anyhow, we have a dinner arranged in two weeks, after that it will be a no from me unfortunately... :(

noseymcposey · 30/12/2013 22:18

can you do that really passive aggressive thing of telling them about your 'awful friend' who smoked all over a pg lady and wasn't that terrible etc etc (next time they are at yours) Or is that too obvious? It would be a shame not to see them but it's a tricky one.

mylittlel · 30/12/2013 22:22

it is a tricky one especially when you are in their house, they can just say to you-off you go, which is not the outcome you want, to be honest with you i would pick a sweet lie i.e. im not feeling very well
