Thank you. Waters just gone. I can still feel contractions and need the gas and air (WTF?), but along with epidural it's not so bad.

I honestly never ever believed anyone before who said 'epidural didn't work'. Not long now :-)

Alyssa1978 · 14/12/2013 03:47

Good luck 5ammy hope you're enjoying newborn snuggles soon. My epi didnt work at all with ds2 either Hun xx

Massive congrats frouby beautiful name xx

mum how you doing? Any more pains? Xx

Mogz · 14/12/2013 07:55

Well done Frouby

I'm a bit scared at the minute and need some sympathy please, going back in to hospital as I've been shivering uncontrollably all night, have lots of joint and abdomen pain and a temp of 39.4C
DH being a star and learnt how to make formula on the fly as I'm shaking too much to hold Genevieve so can't feed her (cue much crying from her and me!)
Going to grab some clothes and get going.

violetbean · 14/12/2013 08:32

Mogz, get well soon! Thinking of you. Thanks

5ammy, hope rest of labour is smooth and that you enjoy newborn cuddles soon Smile

So, our son Daniel was born on 12/12/13 at 11.11pm, weighing 9lb 9oz. He's gorgeous, I'm a complete mess. Birth story is on following thread (hope the link works) - warning, slightly epic, and not for faint hearted!

ancelynthecraven · 14/12/2013 08:42

Our daughter Martha was born at 130am today. Crash CSec after long induction.
She is fast asleep on my chest and is the most perfect being in the world ever.
I wish you all the very best and to all you fellow first timers it really is worth it.
Love and hugsThanksThanksThanksThanksThanks

MummaDevon · 14/12/2013 08:42

Violet congratulations and 9lb9oz, wow! I'm scared to read it, as I'm expecting a biggy!

Mogz I hope u feel better very soon.

MollySJ · 14/12/2013 08:52

Violet what a story! Well done and congratulations x

extracrunchy · 14/12/2013 08:56

And Ancelyn too!! Love the name. Hope you heal quickly Smile

MummaDevon · 14/12/2013 09:01

Congratulations Ancelyn, lovely name!

I wonder how many are left awaiting new arrivals?!

BetterWithCheese · 14/12/2013 09:33

Congratulations violet and ancelyn!!! Enjoy the newborn snuggles.

Mogz I hope all is ok Sad and they get you sorted really soon Thanks

I feel like I'm about to get my period with achiness in hips, thighs and back and a general heavy feeling in lower stomach. Baby was really high yesterday though so I think she's probably just moved back down a bit. I went out for work Christmas do and I got all the clichéd unhelpful comments you could think of to say to a heavily pregnant woman Angry. "You're huge!", "the baby is high, you'll be two weeks over", "that baby is going to be gigantic". What is wrong with people?!?

MrsEllsmore · 14/12/2013 09:35

Congrats violet and ancelyn. Good luck Sami!

I'm still waiting...

Alyssa1978 · 14/12/2013 09:53

Congrats anc beautiful name.
frouby what a story! Glad you're both ok and love the name, that's one of ds1 middle names Smile
Hope your bp is down and the dreaded related headache is gone....they suck big time Sad
Enjoy newborn snuggles.

better knock them over with your so called huge belly if they say that again Grin that annoyed the hell outta me too when pregnant xx

lisbapalea · 14/12/2013 11:10

Wow violet just read your other thread - huge congratulations and well done for managing such a long winded ordeal!

Congrats also to ancelyn and baby Martha - lovely name!

Thanks for the update frouby - am very excited for Tuesday now! I do remember having a huge rush of emotion when dd and made a very uncharacteristic public domain of love for my dh when she wad born which we still laugh about now!

lisbapalea · 14/12/2013 11:11

Display, not domain! Weirdo autocorrect....

itsliz · 14/12/2013 11:58

Wow, I think we've had at least one new December baby every day this week - a new record! Grin

Huge, massive congratulations to ancelyn, violet and frouby! And from what Facebook has told me, it seems congratulations are in order for 5ammy too!

violet Just off to read your birth thread now but I've got to say, I think little Daniel has won the numbers game - 12/12, 11/11 and 9/9, what are the chances?!

Mogz You poor thing, that sounds awful! Hope everything's ok and that the hospital are able to sort you out.

Had an epic 12 hour sleep last night which more than made up for not getting any sleep in hospital!
A combination of sleep and the blood pressure tablets have made me feel a lot better today... Which is great as it's my birthday on Monday so DP has arranged for us to go for a meal with a few friends tonight Smile
He's also promised to buy me a small glass of white wine and lemonade with my meal so looking forward to that, too!

mumoftwoboysS · 14/12/2013 13:01

Many congrats anc frouby and violet! Glad all is well even if things didn't quite go according to plan. An undetected breech! How rubbish that no-one spotted that.

SupermansGirl · 14/12/2013 13:17

All these babies and were only half way through the month I have a feeling there will only be 1 or 2 of you left in jan. Fingers crossed none of you will ladies.

Lost count of who iv said congrats to and who i haven't so congratulations new mums!

Started expressing today gives my saw boobs a rest which are now GG! God I hope they don't stay big like what happened to my mum.

GodRestYeMerryWhisperMen · 14/12/2013 13:28

Hello all, just checking in. Sorry I've been AWOL the last few days. Been a bit hetic in the Whisper household. Came home from hospital and immediately got a cold which all three of us have. Today is much better though as Olivia has decided the moses basket is a nice place to be, so I finally have my arms back.

I have read everyones posts, but my sleep addled brain can't remember who said what as I am on the app I can't go back to check. I shall just sent Flowers and Cake to everyone still waiting for their babies to arrive. It will happen for you soon and your life will never ever be the same again. Everyone who is a first time mum take this time to seriously get some sleep and go out for random walks and actually drink a hot drink. Pretty soon this will all be a distant memory Xmas Grin

Stom91 · 14/12/2013 15:21

Congrats on those who have had babies.
I'm still pregnant with no signs at all. Dp is disappointed at he's thought all the way through that dd would be born today. We even dtd this morning to get things going lol though I didn't enjoy it at all. Getting a lot of low pain though so I think she may have finally dropped.

I really don't want to be pregnant at Christmas but at this rate I honestly feel like I'm going to still be here in January.

Got abit annoyed in asda as I was loadin up the checkout while dp went to get something we forgot the couple behind me obviously got annoyed with how slow I was and started putting thee shopping on so then I started running out of room and they has to keep moving their stuff.
I thought fuck it I'm 39 weeks pregnant and in pain I'm not rushing for you Impatient douchbags lol so went a ill bit slower putting in the heavy bit like the potatoes haha

With regard to the birth I'm seriously freaking out about tearing. I don't know why and I know it happens to loads of people but it's just on my mind constantly and the contractions. I just don't know why to expect and I'm worried I'm not going to cope. I get angry when I get heart burn and take it out in dp without meaning to. What am I going to be like with a contraction!!
Part of me thing dad can just stay in there as the whole feeding her and making sure she's ok is freaking me out too what if Ido it wrong or I can't stop her crying then I'm worried in going to get PND. Dp said earlier I know you're struggling but please don't take it out on me. I really don't mean too, everything is winding me up just silly things- I think I've just come to the point where I've just had enough but the end of the tunnel still feels so far away.
Sorry for the huge rant - wasn't intending too :/

extracrunchy · 14/12/2013 15:32

Stom I know just how you're feeling - breathe Grin contractions you're allowed to yell at DH so don't worry. I tore last time and didn't even realise till afterwards so don't worry too much. I won't lie, labour is hard, but the best advice I've been given is to bear in mind it's all GOOD PAIN with a purpose - like pain when you exercise, it's just muscles and your body doing their job, so try not to freak out, just remind yourself each second is a step closer to your little one.

extracrunchy · 14/12/2013 15:33

(Also I bloody well will NOT be pregnant at Christmas. I will not. I hope you won't either!)

Stom91 · 14/12/2013 15:37

Thanks extra I feel like one a being irrational about everything and it's all in my head and I'm being silly. I try and talk to mum but she doesn't remover anything about her 2 pregnancies. All she remembers about my brothers is the birth, she doesn't even remember being pregnant with him lol.

And dp just doesn't get it all he says is you'll be fine. Or I don't really know what to say.
I don't have anyone else I can talk too ;/
Sorry I feel proper moany today lol

Stom91 · 14/12/2013 15:38

Haha I have 2 bottles of wine and a bottle of champers in te fridge for Xmas and I will be upset if I can't open them hahaha

extracrunchy · 14/12/2013 15:46

Moan here any time! I seem to moan and nothing else Grin

My mum had really simple pregnancies and easy births where babies just fell out (she must have had a bucket fanny) so she's totally unsympathetic when I moan!

You're not being irrational. It's a big deal! And you're full of hormones and NO WINE.

It's just bloody not fair. I will have an amaretto sour with cherries on Christmas Day. End of.
