Oh violet that is one stubborn baby! Hopefully tomorrow is your day. Or is it technically today now lol.

Well as usual am awake at daft o'clock. Still having tightening across bump. Seems to be an hour or so of pretty regular ones then nothing for a while so not too worried. Just glad I have a definite end date in sight.

MrsShrubs · 12/12/2013 03:18

Hi everyone James Harrison Shrubs arrived 11-12-13 (scooped the cool date prize) at 8.25pm weighing what I was originally told as 7lbs 8oz but have just been told the conversion they did from kilos was wrong and he's apparently 7lbs 13oz!
Had a slight leak on tuesday morning on the bed (only about a 2inch patch) and have felt a little drippy before so rang and went into the ward thinking it was probably a false alarm- nope hind waters had gone and then when they checked my pad after monitoring baby he'd very kindly done a poo in me so got whipped up to labour ward, had the gel put in and then started the hormone drip 10pm last night, I went from very thick unfavourable cervix to having him today which they thought was not naturally going to happen and I'd end up with a c section today- so happy to have proved them wrong!!!
Haven't caught up with everything over the last couple of days so will go have a read now. Hope everyone is okay & sending dilating & contracting vibes to those who want them!!

GodRestYeMerryWhisperMen · 12/12/2013 04:35

hey violet only just catching up on the thread and noticed you're exactly the same as I was. I was induced at 12pm friday and ended up with an emcs at 2am monday morning. I know how tiring and hard it is to be in your shoes right now. keep on trucking and I can highly recommend diamorpheine. I fell asleep while having contractions once I had it Grin . I really hope your little one gets a move on for you.

GodRestYeMerryWhisperMen · 12/12/2013 04:41

I'm currently awake at this ungodly hour due to it being my first night home and getting a cold. poor olivia has started showing signs of being bunged up too so I'm giving her a cuddle on the sofa as it's the only position she can breathe properly in. how mean is the universe? she's only 4 days old and already has a cold.

hope everyone isn't suffering too badly. it must suck for you lot still pregnant seeing everyone having their babies. hang on in there guys soon it will be your turn and I can wholeheartedly promise you it's damn well worth the wait.

violetbean · 12/12/2013 05:37

Thanks so much guys! Whisper, so good to hear about a lovely outcome from this long waiting game (your gorgeous Olivia). Think I may have to just ask for any drugs going, as have found it so hard to cope with the vaginal examinations let alone any contractions! Briefly considered begging for a CS but would probably have to spend just as long here in hospital recovering from it as I would continuing with the induction, and have heard post-natal care can sometimes be a lot worse than ante-natal. I'm not uncomfortable today, just impatient, so just have to wait it out and see what happens.

Lady in the bed next to me who came in about 4 hours ago is clearly having contractions already. Envy

Get well soon whisper and Olivia! Hopefully the colds will be very mild and you'll both feel better soon. Thanks

Huge congrats Mrs Shrubs, brilliant news! Smile (and anyone else I've forgotten, am on phone so hard to check).

So good to have this group to talk to. Thanks

Mogz · 12/12/2013 06:09

Looks like I've loads to catch up on! Will do my best to later Smile
Quick update from me, after a ridiculously fast labour, lots of shouting and swearing (and that was just from DH Wink), we welcomed our little girl, Genevieve Rose, in to the world at 5:26 on 10th December. Weighing a delicate 7lbs, she's got gorgeous grey/blue eyes and her daddy's not so delicate long feet! She's doing well, I'm ok too, not too much blood loss but a slightly sore 3rd degree tear. Spent one night in hospital and now we are all glad to be home.
Internet here is being very temperamental though so I'll have to dash, congrats to all the new babies and best wishes to you lovely ladies in waiting.

froubylou · 12/12/2013 06:49

Congratulations mogz and mrs. Beautiful names and very jealous of your new arrivals.

Don't know whether to go and get checked out later. Due my elcs tomorrow but have had tightenings and back ache most of the night. Starting again with pmt type cramps as well. Going to get DD to school and let DP get to work then see how I feel. If he wasn't breech I wouldn't bother as it's still all very mild but definitely ramping up a bit.

extracrunchy · 12/12/2013 06:53

Congratulations Mrs and Mogz!!

Frouby hope all's well.

Alyssa1978 · 12/12/2013 08:02

frouby it's best to be cautious especially when babies breech Hun.

mrs very cool birth date and congrats
mogz congrats to you Hun both lovely names xx
whisper hope you are both well soon, colds suck especially in tiny newborns
violet you must be so fed up, I'm sending you fast painless vibes for today sweetie.

Good luck to anyone else I've missed.

BetterWithCheese · 12/12/2013 08:04

Congratulations Mogz and MrsShrubs!!!

frouby I think it's worth giving labour ward a ring and have a chat about what's going on. Hope it's just niggles and he stays put for tomorrow.

Dusty04 · 12/12/2013 08:12

Congratulations to all the new mummies :)

I'm 38 weeks today and meet my new midwife today (can't believe mine retired, how inconvenient, ;) ). I'm hoping she says the baby will be here soon but no signs, no heaviness, niggles, nothing.. Potentially another 4 weeks for me!!

Anyone else have their bump decrease in size.. When I was in hospital 2 weeks ago measured 31cms at 36 weeks, but was 34cm at 34 weeks. I was scanned before she measured so they didn't seem too concerned and said baby had probably just dropped.. Bump still feels small!

Alyssa1978 · 12/12/2013 08:42

Mine looked a lot smaller dusty but bump had just dropped really low down and that was why.
Mw said it was apparently very common but I could never remember it happening with the first 2, but then again I forget most things about pregnancy and labour/birth after a while.......hence why I've had 3 Confused

chants I will not forget this time, there will not be a number 4 Grin

violetbean · 12/12/2013 09:45

hehe Alyssa that made me laugh, thanks for the vibes too!

Congratulations Mrs Shrubs and Mogz, wonderful news!

frouby, hope it's just niggles and nothing more. Feel free to send any real contractions my way! Grin

violetbean · 12/12/2013 10:41

Mucus plug just came out, gross! Confused

SupermansGirl · 12/12/2013 10:41

Think Im going to have to give up breast feeding...Delilah doesn't seem to want to feed! She didn't feed all night she slept from 11.30-3.30 i tried to feed her and she wouldn't have it. Then she finally went back to sleep then up again for 7.00 and only a 5 minute feed.

Going to speak to the health visitor today hopefully theres a way around putting her on bottle feeding x

BohemianRaspberry · 12/12/2013 10:55

After a restless night with ever increasing pains that went and sodded off at 4am, I am STILL pregnant ... I want to go for the world's bounciest walk but baby is so low I just end up with shooting pains after ten minutes.

mrs - you win the date award Smile
mogz lovely name and glad your labour was fast
whisper - hope she recovers - in the box of healthcare stuff my mum gave me for my arrival there were some newborn nasal drops called nasonal (she said I'd need them with a winter baby) - would they help you?
violet hopefully the plug is a sign of things to come??
dusty mine's been holding steady at 37cm since wk 37 - MW said it's because he's gone fully into my pelvis now.

Ladies, wish me luck with my sweep this afternoon - hopefully that should jump start junior into making an appearance.

itsliz · 12/12/2013 11:04

Huge congratulations to you Mogz and MrsShrubs! Hope you're both feeling ok today? Always nice to wake up to news of new December babies Smile

Hope things pick up again for you today violet, I think you deserve a nice speedy labour after all this waiting!

I'm so proud of myself - normally I'm wide awake at 3/4am and can't get back to sleep, but last night I slept til 6am with only 3 loo breaks! Grin Simple things and all that...

Only problem now is that little one seems very chilled out after such an epic sleep! I've had a few little wriggles and squirms but nothing compared to the beating I'd usually be getting from him.
Really don't fancy dragging DP out of work or going to the hospital for monitoring today so hopefully it's just a case of running out of room. Will keep an eye out though...

Stom91 · 12/12/2013 11:12

Morning. - congrats to all the new mummies! extremely jealous
Woken up feeling cold-y I only got over a bad one last week :(
Off to do the Christmas food shop today

Alyssa1978 · 12/12/2013 11:36

violet sounds very promising Hun, hopefully things will move fast now Smile

supermansgirl Lleyton was exactly the same for me for the first couple days, I just kept with it and now he's on me all the live long day Hmm
Have a chat with your health visitor and don't stress Hun, I had to stop bf with ds1 and felt really guilty but it's not for everyone and some babies just don't take to it, my cousins daughter never did.

Good luck in whatever you decide though. Xx

froubylou · 12/12/2013 12:23

Still getting the odd cramp and tightening but nothing regular enough to be really concerned. Just waiting for the last payment due in to go into our business account so I can do the wage bill for the last time before I have the baby.

In bed trying to snooze at the moment. Next door cutting grass, someone has knocked really loudly and then buggered off before I could get to it, window cleaner banging around with his ladders and house phone rang twice but no message left so obviously just a sales call.

Too noisy by far! But if I get up now I will be forced to speak to window cleaner who bores me senseless at best of times.

And make lists for DP on how to do stuff like use washing machine. And a shopping list.

I think the thing I am most worried about is leaving DP in charge of the house and dog for a couple of days. He really is a disgrace with anything remotely domestic. My fault for being a bit of a control freak and not making him do stuff. Just hope I am in early tomorrow morning and out on Saturday evening.

Anyone else know of anyone who was out after 1 night after an elcs?

MummaDevon · 12/12/2013 14:54

Well, had midwife appointment. Booked me in for a sweep on Friday 20th when I'll be 41 weeks... :-( sob.
Won't do induction till 12 days over, which is Christmas Day.... :-( sob.
Babies head only 1/5th engaged... :-( sob.
Midwife measured me with estimated weight of 9lb, so above 90th centile again... :-( double sob!
This means if she's right, my beautiful Next baby coming home outfit in size 'Newborn' wont fit.. :-( mega weep!!!
All these cramps and pain and getting nowhere!!

13loki · 12/12/2013 15:10

MummaD Älfi was 9lb 6oz and is still wearing newborn size at 2 weeks. And less than 12 hours before she was born, mw booked me an appointment for induction 2 weeks later.

Dusty04 · 12/12/2013 15:31

Has baby woken up liz? Mines having a mega quiet day too and when I have felt squirms they don't seem quite as hard or as hear the front..

Off to midwife now so let's see what she says..

MummaDevon · 12/12/2013 15:53

loki really, that's a relief, I was considering putting some bigger size baby clothes in, but don't have any room! Lovely name by the way!

Fingers crossed baby puts in her appearance soon!

Roselau · 12/12/2013 15:55

so many more babies popped on FB! while I really hope the rest of us get ours very very soon, I'm really glad to see that there are still a few of us in waiting. how is it not even the 15th yet and it seems like most have had their babies yet? not fair (although I'm very happy for you all).
My mom emailed to tell me she had a dream last night that baby had arrived. ugh. hoping it's a premonition or something.
the mild pains I had yesterday evening are all gone and I'm back to normal. Need to go on an epic walk to see if they'll come back....

mumma it's all such a downer, isn't? I'm pretty much in the same boat. But think that at least you will for sure have a baby in 2013. mine could be 2014..........
