The maybies are in the second trimester and (hopefully) entering the blooming phase just in time for a cozy Christmas. Thread no 5?!

What Spirael said is very good advice. My exp was 15 years older than me and I'm sure my parents blamed him for me being pregnant at 18. They hid it well though and were very supportive once they realised that we were set on our course and had a plan. Are you the eldest child moomin? My eldest is only 8 and I constantly second guess every new thing he does. I had the advantage of being the youngest so my parents had learned to let go somewhat.

dobedobedo · 29/11/2013 15:16

I'll "third" Spriael's good advice moomin. It's kinda normal for them to be struggling about this as well - I know my parents did when I was pregnant at 21. They will adjust though, just have confidence in yourself and your decisions.

Last night our fridge freezer decided to explode on us. Angry Great timing with Christmas on the way and a baby and the fact we just got a new car! I don't know if it's worth claiming on home insurance because I can't really afford the excess this month and if I just get a new one, I can do the whole "buy now, pay in six months" thing and pay for it once xmas is out of the way. Anyway this is all very boring. But grrrr!!

In other news, I have a definite bump now and it's rather uncomfortable! It might be time to buy maternity trousers!

What's everyone up to this weekend? We're doing a deep clean on the house in time for xmas and then we're buying ds's xmas presents! I haven't done any xmas shopping yet Hmm

Hope everyone and their bumps are well!

LittleBairn · 29/11/2013 16:08

moomin my parents reacted the same way when my sister got pregant at 17 (even thought my parent had me at 17!) they were having to both live at home with parents wondering how they could all be a family. The day my nephew was born my parents invited him to move in, he's pretty much their adoptive Son now. Once the baby is here, reality sets in and people often change their minds and see sense.

I'm having a really dark emotional day today is the one year Aniversary of my waters breaking. I didn't expect to be do overwhelmed.
I just really need to get to 10th of January Baby's viability date. And to start feeling proper big baby movements.

LittleBairn · 29/11/2013 16:10

dobe I'm doing Christmas cards and a lot of bed rest. Having ventured into town today I will defintely order my shopping online!

dobedobedo · 29/11/2013 16:25

littlebairn Thanks Hope you're okay x

mrsmummytobe · 29/11/2013 16:58

Hope you're ok littlebairn. Thinking of you.

randdom · 29/11/2013 17:46

LittleBairn hope you are ok and have someone looking after you.

This weekend I am going to my friends daughters third birthday party which is hopefully going to be lovely (though perhaps a little bit scary!). However that does mean that tonight I have to get on with making the two pass the parcels ...

moobaloo · 29/11/2013 18:00

Dinner at PILs tonight! Worried/Excited. I like seeing them and it's always good food etc. but I haven't seen them since we announced the pregnancy and 2 weeks is plenty of time for MIL to have go WAY hyper about stuff. She may talk about it all evening and we may have no choice but to listen. Uck. Distraction tips anyone????

Hope you're ok Littlebairn - online shopping is probably the best way to go! Hate how crowded towns get in December

Vikks · 29/11/2013 18:56

Moobaloo Good luck with the dinner, sounds like you’ll need it! Can you get her drunk? Might be move fun. X

LittleBairn Thinking of you x Thanks

I saw my midwife yesterday (all good) but was totally shocked when she said “I’ll see you again at your 34 week check”! She said that was normal for second baby, thank God for you lovely ladies and the support on here. Even though I’m 36, second baby, stable home, etc, it still feels overwhelming sometimes and I wonder if I can do this. It’s daunting whatever your age or situation. Probably my hormones talking…. Confused

16 weeks today! What fruit am I?

Xavielli · 29/11/2013 21:16

Vikks you should absolutely have a 28 week check with 2nd baby :-/ I'm so suprised by that.

Xavielli · 29/11/2013 21:19

In fact it's quite an important on as we have blood tests

loopylou52 · 29/11/2013 22:55

Thinking of you little Thanks

Vikks · 29/11/2013 23:38

Xavielli I've just looked through my notes and I have a blood test form for the hospital. They have a drop in clinic which I have to go at around 28 weeks. That must be all they need to check??

LongTailedTit · 30/11/2013 01:44

Vikks - I'm having my 2nd and am having midwife appts at 25, 28, 34, 36, 38 and 40 wks, I def think you should be seeing her before 34wks.

Mine are just standard ones (tho one may be for Anti-D?), and definitely fewer than last time. All counties seem to have different systems, but it's prob worth calling your Community Midwives Office and asking what the standard week checks are for your area.
(btw my iPad tried to autocorrect 'counties' to 'cuntishness' Grin a word I've never actually typed before, and have only read on MN! Clever but sweary iPad)

The only extra stuff I'm having so far is a 32wk scan and consultant appt to check TinyTit's growth as DS was born at 36wks so they reckon this one is likely to be early too.

LittleBairn · 30/11/2013 06:24

Please pray for me guys I'm bleeding and cramping. I can't believe this could be happening again at almost the same time.

Minions · 30/11/2013 06:37

Praying for you LittleBairn, for healing, peace and a healthy, happy baby x

snoozysleeper · 30/11/2013 06:44

I'm so sorry to hear this is happening to you, especially at this time

Are you going to go to A&E or contact midwife? either way, I think you need to see someone ASAP

Thinking of you

mrsmummytobe · 30/11/2013 06:59

Has anyone found any nice maternity pyjamas? I've just been having a look online. I thought gap would do some maternity ones but there are none. My usual pjs are getting a bit tight now & it would be nice to be more comfy at night.

Vikks · 30/11/2013 07:00

LittleBairn A&E now.

Praying for you x
