Not a cow at all LTT you're entitled to your feelings. Hopefully you'll soon have your head around having another lovely little boy :) I'm hoping finding out the sex on Thursday will make this baby more real to me and it's existence not seem like the end of the world (sorry :( )

snoozysleeper · 17/12/2013 00:40

Congratulations chip and long

applecrumble you're right about me, my scan is also on the 3rd January Smile

xav I understand what you mean about being more real with the next scan Flowers

Squiffie · 17/12/2013 01:19

Congrats on more lovely scan news! My scan is aaaaages away... I'm 16+6 Smile

dobedobedo · 17/12/2013 05:01

LTT You're not a cow. I have felt a bit meh for most of my pregnancy, constantly seeing the downside to having another kid, especially with such a big age gap. it's fleeting, I won't feel this way when the baby is here and actually I feel excited lately more and more frequently. You will too.

dobedobedo · 17/12/2013 05:03

xav my scan is this week too and I can't wait to find out the sex so I can start thinking about the baby in real terms. I still find it very hard to equate my bump, the kicks etc to an actual human baby. It doesn't seem real yet.

dobedobedo · 17/12/2013 05:09

Is anyone a bit worried (if this is their second baby) that they won't love it as much as their first?
I know this probably sounds awful, but ds has been my world for the past 9 years, sometimes I can't possibly imagine this baby being as "good" as him or us having as strong a bond. I do worry that I won't feel the same rush of love that I felt when ds was born.

Has anyone felt like this and then proved to be worrying over nothing when dc2 was born?

mumof2aimingfor4 · 17/12/2013 06:53

dobe thats a natural fear as you've had your ds by your side for 9 years! But dont worry, your hearts got enough love (equal measures) for several children. When they get older they just have certain attributes that you appreciate more in each of them but the love is the same. I have a certain amount of love towards the children I childmind especially the one I had since she was a little baby and they're not even mine. Youve got a big enough heart, every single yummy mummy (or to be mummy) on here has.

Congratulations on the exciting scan news ladies.

Good luck to future scanees this week.
LTT if im having another girl I'll trade with you, Wink

I wish I could feel movements! I'm so fat I can't buy maternity clothes and it will be longer to have the movements.

Xavielli · 17/12/2013 09:15

dobe you will love them equally, there's no time frame on ot though - some of mine have been instant love and others have built up. I always love them the same but I rarely like them equally

ISawNannyPlumKissingSantaClaus · 17/12/2013 09:31

Another day off work sick for me :( they are going to hate me!! Ah well... Can't wait for my scan next Monday!!

randdom · 17/12/2013 09:43

I think I might be starting to feel flutters which is exciting. Also went to my 16 week midwife appointment today and heart the heartbeat. She found it really easily so happy that she listened!

hamncheese · 17/12/2013 09:59

xav that's really reassuring. I've been on citalopram before so asked the doctor about it. Seems ok, anything worrying was about the first tri and the only slight concern is withdrawl in a newborn but its the lowest dose so shouldn't be an issue. I took one yesterday. Have been so distraught this last two weeks I just need to feel better... Last night was horrible. Hoping it gets to work very soon. Will ask my midwife today but I think (hope) I can still bf on it..

moominleigh94 · 17/12/2013 10:10

Ended up on the labour ward at half past 2 this morning with cramping and what the A&E staff thought was my show Sad thankfully everything's fine, Mini Moomin's heartbeat is going strong but I'm a bit annoyed at my GPs... apparently the test I had done last week is coming back showing infection, and yet they weren't going to do anything about it. Got antibiotics now and had yet another experience of losing my dignity - speculums hurt.

And then OH went and made a remark about the plastic dildo getting more action than he had for a while. I was so tired I got annoyed at the time but looking back it made me grin and that's what I needed Grin I'm just relieved our little pomegranate is ok.

21+1

MrsFooCough · 17/12/2013 10:36

Oh moomin that sounds a bit scary. Hope you're ok and that you didn't bash OH's head in for saying that Xmas Blush ! Haha!
Hey there squiffie - we're almost exactly the same, I'm 16+3 today Xmas Grin

SicknSpan · 17/12/2013 11:33

dobe I was worried with dc2 that I wouldn't love it as much as ds1- but when ds2 arrived he brought with him a whole lot more love. You get more with each baby, you don't have to share the same amount around. Although I didn't get the same rush of love as I had with ds1- it's was a much quieter, gentler sort of feeling- like finally meeting a friend you've loved for years and years but just never met face to face until now. Was really special.

AliOh · 17/12/2013 11:36

Blimey moomin that sounds scary, glad to hear all is ok. Congrats on more great scan news ladies!

rebeccax2 · 17/12/2013 12:48

sicknspan what a beautiful explanation.

I had my 16 week appointment today (a bit late at 18 weeks!).

Apparently everything looked good, heartbeat strong. I am utterly convinced it's a girl. I will be totally shocked if it isn't!

bushprincess · 17/12/2013 12:52

sorry to hear about your scare moomin but glad all is ok!

SicknSpan · 17/12/2013 13:07

Gosh Moomin that does sound frightening- glad all is settled now.

MrsFoo I am 16+3 today too! Snap!

SicknSpan · 17/12/2013 13:13

Or am I? Confused now- I was 15 weeks and 6 days on Friday, so Saturday was 16, Sunday 16+1? Or was Saturday 16+1? Aaargh! (I normally have a responsible ish job and can cope with life, honest)

SarahChez · 17/12/2013 13:15

Well we had our scan this morning and baby couldn't have been more awkward. Bean was laid face down with crossed legs, and refused to move despite my jumping up and down like a loon.
The Sonographer said that everything looked good but she wants a better view of the heart so we're going back on the 27th.
We didn't get to find out gender because of the crossed legs, but I think we are going to keep it a surprise now :)

dobedobedo · 17/12/2013 13:28

That's lovely sicknspan

It's great to hear scan news! sarah hope your baby plays ball a bit more next week!

ThePollyAndTheIvy · 17/12/2013 13:30

Sick and MrsFoo I'm 18+2 so we're really close!

Sorry to hear about your tough time Moomin, but glad to hear Mini Moomin is all ok Smile

Jellymum1 · 17/12/2013 14:08

Aw moomin how scary glad everything turned out ok x

ISawNannyPlumKissingSantaClaus · 17/12/2013 14:24

Sounds awful moomin!! I thought you had been a bit quiet but presumed you had fled to the dark side facebook
