little and alyss thinking of you and your little ones.

dobe hope you feel better, kidney infections are horrible.

Ugh Christmas shopping! I haven't started mine yet. Can't bear it either! Nothing worse than dragging round packed shops. I worked all weekend last week so am looking forward to a quiet one this week. Can't wait for a lie in tomorrow!!!

moominleigh94 · 06/12/2013 08:33

Look after yourself dobe. Kidney infections are awful - one of the worst physical pains I've ever felt so far was a kidney infection.

I've got rehearsal but I'm taking the morning off and heading in when OH gets back from his lecture. My cravings have turned into unhealthy ones; I just want to eat chips and gravy Sad

Less than a week until my 20-week scan! Grin

Morning all! I've been kept with my nose to the grindstone at work for the last few days with a big project they want finishing yesterday, so I haven't had much chance to post recently, sorry!

I've been popping in to read though and I'm keeping my fingers firmly crossed that all will be fine for you both, Little and Alyss! Sounds like all your LOs are fighters.

Not too much to report here, just busy busy busy! I've done pretty much all my Christmas shopping now, and I've also been busy stocking up and meal planning as we've got huge amounts of people staying with us from the 19th December until next year - so lots of mouths to feed! Also been building furniture, doing necessary DIY and rearranging the house so everyone has somewhere comfortable to sleep.

Morning sickness seems to have finally pretty much vanished here, hooray! Last couple of days I've barely felt sick at all, aside from a very slight bad taste in my mouth occasionally. I am SO relieved, I was getting worried I'd have nausea for the whole pregnancy. Unfortunately I seem to now be getting a cold, but hopefully by Christmas I'll be blooming. Xmas Smile

Also, I think I'm feeling some movement! I'm 15 weeks today and have an anterior placenta, so I totally wasn't expecting it this early. I think it helps that I know what I'm looking for this time. I also only seem to feel it when I'm wearing my maternity jeans with a belt to hold them up and I'm leant slightly forwards (i.e. over a desk Wink).

Vikks, it sounds like you're based in the same area as me! I work in Leeds city centre and live in the suburbs. I haven't been to the German Market yet this year though. I normally stop by at some point, but it doesn't seem to differ from year to year so I haven't been bothered so far.

AliOh · 06/12/2013 08:49

Hi all, not posted for a while. Keeping fingers crossed for you Alyss and little hopefully today will bring good news x

We have our 20 week scan two days before Xmas :) which will be a nice early Xmas present for us. Been feeling lots of little wriggles here over the last couple of weeks, very sporadic but getting stronger :)

LongTailedTit · 06/12/2013 09:39

Sorry not been around for a few days but have been reading back and am amazed at the tenacity of Little & Alyss 's babies! Those are some very very sticky beans! :) Fingers v firmly crossed here that they keep hanging on in there!

mrsmummytobe · 06/12/2013 10:33

AliOh we have our 20 week scan on the same day, the 23rd! I've been feeling a few fluttery feelings but the midwife at our 16 week appt said to expect to feel much stronger movements from about 20 weeks!

17 + 5 today

Hezbean · 06/12/2013 11:11

AliOh I think I might be feeling a few movements the last few days too. Very faint and not entirely sure it's not digestion! but I'm becoming more positive it's the baby. Happens when I'm lying very still. Very exciting! Can't wait til DH can feel it too.

hamncheese · 06/12/2013 11:24

Hoping for good news from both little and alyss soon.

I'm feeling pants. I've had this bug for two weeks, in my chest, sinuses etc now its a stomach but too. The one thing that terrifies me is being ill with a baby to look after. When DS was 4 mo I got norovirus it was hell had to get my dad to bring him to feed every three hours then go away in case he got it. So bad. Anyway he's down for a nap and going to his grans tonight so I will be all alone to feel rubbish. I hate winter for all this stuff... Annoying thing is I've not even been out anywhere in the last day or two so how did I get it? Argh.

How is the insomnia all? I'm typically sleeping 9-3/4 then I get up to pee and bang I'm worrying and can't sleep and many times ends up in panic attack :( please tell me I'm still not the only one, makes me feel like a sad pregnant person not a mental case!

MrsFooCough · 06/12/2013 12:07

Hey all! I have my 16wk appt on Tuesday, hoping our area does the Doppler stuff, I just know that DH will completely burst if he can hear the heartbeat Grin
Had to go with grandma to the hospital where gramps died, pick up his effects and everything. It was hard. But she said to me that despite everything, pregnancy seems to be working for me, that it "becomes" me Smile that made me happy, I hope to goodness grandpa is proud of me wherever he is.

Glad our lovely "sticky beans" are hanging around - HAVE SOME CAAAAAAAKE Cake

Xavielli · 06/12/2013 12:34

ham I have insomnia every pregnancy. I find getting up and just going with it is the way to go. Still the moment I tend to sleep 9-12/1, then I'm up til about 4am, can usually manage a bit more sleep after a few chapters of my book of a snoop on Facebook.

Love to you both Little and Alyss hoping for more good news xx

wm3010 · 06/12/2013 12:35

hamncheese rubbish that you are feeling ill. I can sympathise with the insomnia too, that is happening with me quite a lot. I have been routinely waking at 4/5 for weeks and most of the time wasn't able to go back to sleep, even if I wasn't worried about anything specific. Funnily enough, this week I've been waking up about 1/2 instead and have managed to go back to sleep much more easily, possibly as it is still the absolute dead of night and even my insomniac brain accepts that. However, it's not something I have done differently so I am dreading the 4am waking coming back!

Xavielli · 06/12/2013 12:39

MrsFoo you sound like you're dealing with things really well - you also sound like someone any family would be proud of Thanks

Elastigrrrl · 06/12/2013 15:21

Sorry hamncheese about your illness. I've come to the conclusion that our immune systems are worse than useless at this time. It's actually kind of surreal when you appreciate how much it normally helps without you realising it, whereas now you just have to suffer. Bit of a waiting game I suppose.

Anyone experiencing the joys of very frequent nosebleeds (due, I'm told, to enlarged blood vessels)? I'm getting a humidifier (could help with the colds too I guess) in retaliation.

SicknSpan · 06/12/2013 15:46

Hello all. Not posted in a while, flit between here and the June thread that I started out on before my dating scan told me to move here :)

Sorry to hear of troubled times for Alyss and little. Thinking positive thoughts for you.

Hae spent the last two days on my arse with ipad in front of me doing Christmas shopping. I adore present buying but because of hyperemesis again this time i can't actually bundle myself up warm and get out into the chilly air. Have really missed it, doesn't feel the same. But have made a head start on wrapping as a couple of deliveries have already arrived so I am getting in the mood at least! And am actually looking forward to the boys' primary school Christmas bazaar tomorrow. Yes my social life is that bad these days. Might even treat myself to applying some make up! (Steady on there sicknspan, steady on)

Hoe you are all having good days. Thanks

SicknSpan · 06/12/2013 15:48

Sorry for the random hoe hoe hoes there, at least they were festive mistakes.

dobedobedo · 06/12/2013 15:49

Elasti I've woken up a few mornings with blood smeared on my face from nose bleeds during the night. It only seems to happen then! Not in the last week though. I hear it is common in pregnancy.

I've now got some anti bs for my kidney infection which are making me feel quite crappy. I just want to spend the weekend vegging on the sofa. I wonder if I can convince dh we don't need to go xmas shopping.

Elastigrrrl · 06/12/2013 16:07

dobe, that's the spirit! I have not bought one thing from a shop this Christmas, just doing everything online. This has put the fun right back into it when I do pop in somewhere sparkly for a browse.

Glad your nosebleeds may be easing off.

dobedobedo · 06/12/2013 20:52

Any news from little or alyss? Hope you're both doing well, and babies too. Xxx

MrsFooCough · 06/12/2013 20:59

WAAAAARGH the stupid sickness is back. No vomiting though, so I guess that's a blessing. Just never-ending nausea that's triggered by anything. Cooking sausages, the smell of the dog, cooking beef, DH's morning smell, coffee from our Nespresso machine. IT'S LIKE A NAUSEA LOTTERY and I always win Envy

Thank you for your kind words everyone, especially Xav - nobody has ever said anything that nice to me before! Especially at such a bad time Thanks

bluestone85 · 06/12/2013 21:43

getting really bad headaches for the past week. Every day most of the day. Anyone else suffering?

15+6

Chip86 · 06/12/2013 21:49

bluestone the headaches are really bad i get them to

I am a bit worried seam to have lost my sense of danger keep walking in to moving trafic, DH has had to save me twice i dont know what is wrong with me, im not safe to be on me own Confused

randdom · 06/12/2013 21:50

I'm really sorry to moan. Especially when people are going through much harder times than me. I am just fed up. I am 15 weeks today and in the last 9 weeks I have not had a single day, scrap that a single second when i have felt well. I am just feeling so low today and it just seems never endless. I genuinely don't know how I can continue much longer.

ThistletoeAndWine · 06/12/2013 22:02

Did anybody else see the cot bed on mothercare for 20 quid??? Can't bloody order it

MrsFooCough · 06/12/2013 22:08

Chip and bluestone I have the headaches too. Make the nausea even worse. Only remedy is make sure I've eaten small regular meals and drink copious apple squash!

randdom even before my grandpa passing I had this too. I even struggled to lift two stacked bowls from the dinner table tonight. It often brings me to tears as I feel like a burden on amazing DH and my parents. I have on many occasions said (in tears) "I can't do this any more" "please make it stop" etc. going to talk to midwife at upcoming appt and see what she thinks. Lots of love xxxxx

bluestone85 · 06/12/2013 22:11

chip yeah I keep nearly falling over like I'm drunk and staggering to one side. Weird! better keep an eye on yours though, very dangerous!!

Big hugs randdom wish I could make you feel better. I'm sure it will ease off soon. Just think of the end result, you probably won't remember how you've been feeling when you hold your little bean! Thanks
