Ladies I think we need a new festive thread to take us through to the end of the year. And as it will be me to sneeze next –how did it get around to my turn so quickly???-- I thought I would do the honours.

Trix unless he is jaundiced I wouldn't wake him up. Id let him sleep. Glad to hear how well you are both getting on.

bumpie it's all exciting, hopefully it's a sneeze birth to keep up with the rest. I only lost some of my plug after a sweep and there was a lot of it but nothing came of it.

Have had an awful day, ds refused to sleep and has cried all day. I cut my finger and then caught the next one in a drawer. Then I burst into tears. Thinking of heading to bed soon and chill.

keepitgoing · 23/01/2014 20:35

bumpie my plug was lots, clear jelly streak3d with blood. baby arrived 4 hrs later.

trix is he back over birth weight yet? if so I don't think I'd wake him

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 23/01/2014 22:10

For what it's worth, my penneth re babies is I have always always left them to sleep. I have never woken them. If they are hungry they will wake up and there is lots of brain development that is meant to happen when they are sleeping. Ds2 slept 7 1/2 hours on his 4th night after being born. We just made the most of it and slept! He was always between 91st-98th centile, (ok, well sometimes slightly above 98th! ) so I figured he wasn't suffering from having longer sleeps. His record sleep so far is 14 hours overnight, and his average is 12-13 hours. Ds 1 was sleeping through by 7 weeks. My logic is don't wake them, they get into a routine and learn to sleep well and for long periods without expecting a feed. If they woke I always fed them, but only if they woke themselves.

SantaMaybe · 23/01/2014 22:27

Oooh, I'm waiting with baited breath Bumpie!!

Lovely to see you Trix. No advice as I'm clueless, but am a form believer of going with what you feel is right and are comfortable with x

cartoontrickster · 24/01/2014 02:57

N is above birth weight Smile . he was a little jaundice they werent worried although the hv did comment that the whites of his eyes weren't very white. at my antenatal they scared me a bit by saying not to leave them longer than 4hours. I said but what if I don't wake up she said you will but set an alarm if your worried. so that's what I've been doing, I then change his nappy and by then he's looking for food. so this eve we all went to bed early N woke up because we moved him so had his bottle a little early as was grumbling for it he had a big feed with a break in the middle because he pood. it took 2hours! so I set my alarm although I did do it for a little longer than 4hours. he was asleep so I left him and I feel back to sleep for another hour. he was rooting a bit but not yet crying. I got him up then changed and feed him he's now settled back in his basket.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 24/01/2014 13:11

Trix, how old is he now? I'd be inclined to leave him to sleep now - he's above his birth weight and he's not brand new any more so if he's hungry he'll let you know.

Bumpie, it sounds like all systems are gearing up for go! Not sure re plug - I had a show after a sweep but it wasn't very jellyish so I don't think it was my plug, just a bit of bloody mucus disturbed by the sweep.

Pen, sorry to hear yesterday sucked! Hope you feel better today and got a good night's sleep.

cartoontrickster · 24/01/2014 14:52

too he's 17 days old. he probably has an average of 120ml (4oz?) sometimes more sometimes less if that makes a difference. how are you?
pen hope today is better Smile.

ThedementedPenguin · 24/01/2014 21:18

Today was a lot better. Dp done the night feed around 11-11.30 ish and ds slept until half 7. It was great, actually felt human today.

Trix I can't believe he is 17 days old, where has the time went?

So I'm not sure why but I applied on here to try the blossom hill reduced wine and I got picked. It's 5.5% and it is gorgeous. I've had two sips and think I'll stop there as I'll probably get drunk after the third, also the heartburn doesn't help. Dp loves the fact he got a free bottle of wine all to himself.

Going to buy a bottle after baby is born as it's very light.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I'll be 30 weeks tomorrow Shock feel like I'm running out of time and we have very little organised.

solars all eyes on you now you beauty. have you finished work?

Solars · 26/01/2014 09:48

Oh gosh Keep I'm next aren't I? Still feels a long way to go yet, not finished work yet...how are you doing, lovely?

keepitgoing · 26/01/2014 10:40

what?? when do you finish? he might be early! we are doing well. 11 weeks Shock things are a bit easier and she is scrumptious. have had mil to stay this weekend as dh is on 9-10pm shifts so basically no help to me... things are easier since I accepted she won't sleep in the cot in the day and that 2-3 night wake ups may not be as good as some Nct lot but it's OK... I've calmed the fuck down, basically Grin I'm so excited for you, it's such an amazing time

I wrote my birth story for her scrap book. I had a lovely and non traumatic birth so it might be diff for others but a nice idea?

she's stirring on my chest. milk needed... x

keepitgoing · 26/01/2014 10:43

PS sorry I'm obsessed re early. but I had no no no signs till my waters went, so be prepared Grin

trix sweetheart how are you getting on? sounds like he's a good sleeper already Envy

girls I think some are just better sleepers than others. it's luck!
