Ladies I think we need a new festive thread to take us through to the end of the year. And as it will be me to sneeze next –how did it get around to my turn so quickly???-- I thought I would do the honours.

OP posts:

At our hospital is was a second pessary 24 hours after the first if nothing happened......

Fingers crossed!!!

Munxx · 06/01/2014 20:09

Sorry that message was meant to send ages ago....!?!?

The induction process at our hospital was for a first baby the pessaries 24 hrs apart to a maximum of three attempts.

Apparently for a second baby they tried to break waters first, but they gave me the pessary as I wasn't favourable enough. I had the pessary at 10am and was in labour 12 hours later.

Trix I am really hoping it's fast! There were plenty of ladies on the ward when I was in who were having first babies and were way way faster than I was!!

Munxx · 06/01/2014 20:33

Can I also wish Too the best for her scan tomorrow. Looking forward to hearing all about it.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 06/01/2014 20:54

Thanks Munxx! Will keep you all posted.

Trix, Brooking hard that things get moving soon! Come on baby! I hadn't realised that the induction process was so long - 24 hrs between pessaries, even. Hope you manage to get some rest while things are quiet - in preparation for a sneeze birth when they get going!

musicalmrs · 06/01/2014 21:43

Brooking lots that things get moving for you soon Trix. Or that they have already..!

Too, best of luck for tomorrow! :)

SantaMaybe · 06/01/2014 22:36

Good luck Too!

Trix hope you manage to get some rest tonight in preparation for the big day!!

ThedementedPenguin · 06/01/2014 22:43

Trix that is a long time between pessaries. Although it may be different as you are 38 weeks. Whereas I was overdue, when I was induced I had one at 7am, then asked for a sweep instead at 2pm then had another pessary at 8pm. Was a long day and I was in quite a lot of pain due to them.

Do you know what the plan is? Has anyone discussed it with you?

too can't wait to hear your scan news tomorrow. What time of the day is it at?

cartoontrickster · 07/01/2014 00:52

induction is loooooong! but my booklet did say it can take 3days.
so tomorrow morning they will take this pessary out and examine me, hopefully its done somethingHmm then they give another one but its slightly different stuff they leave this for 6 hours. then (if and when there is space) I will be moved to the labour ward where some one will try and break my waters. if nothing still Confused they put you on an oxytocin drip which will (so I'm told) get things going, but can still be slow for some people. so I think I will prob end up having treats on Wednesday.

cartoontrickster · 07/01/2014 00:53

oh too hope everything goes well with your scan.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 07/01/2014 07:55

Scan at 11.40. Eek! Nervous.

How are you this morning, Trix? Enjoying newborn cuddles yet? Wink Or hopefully getting some sleep?

ThedementedPenguin · 07/01/2014 08:58

Trix it's good it's all been explained. That's my one regret about my induction I hadn't a clue what to expect. Fingers crossed it all gets going today. Hope you got a good nights sleep.

Too how exciting? Hope all is well at scan. Can't wait to hear about it. Smile

SantaMaybe · 07/01/2014 09:11
