Ladies I think we need a new festive thread to take us through to the end of the year. And as it will be me to sneeze next –how did it get around to my turn so quickly???-- I thought I would do the honours.

So pleased you're feeling better Pen! Had an appointment on New Year's Day, next one is in 2.5 weeks. Though I do have a sneaky 4D scan booked for Wednesday . How about you?

Next one is 17/01. Feels like ages since my last appointment.

I need to ask questions but I know I'll forget when I'm there. We will prob have ds with us so will be busy with him. Hoping to have a scan then as I think I'll be seeing consultant. Might ask if they can tell the gender.

today I've done a bit of house work and been shopping. treated myself to some new clothes, all cheap sale buys or primarni. I'm bored of my maturnity clothes and think it may be a while before I'm back in my jeans! so have picked up a few bits for inbetween times.
tomorrow I will be madly scrubbing the rest of the house to within an inch of its life and doing more washing than I will be able to get dry! hopefully I will also have a nice long relaxing lie in and try not to fret

We bought a cheap fetal heart monitor online and just heard the heartbeat for the first time

Thanks Pen and Maybe. I feel so relieved (for now) as was completely convinced there was nothing there. I'm 11+0 today and awaiting my scan appointment, so have a feeling it's going to be a bit later than 12 weeks. So I'm glad this will kind of keep us going

I managed a bit of a lie in, wouldve liked longer but I kept thinking about everything I wanted to get done today. it was 10ish though so hardly early .
fox we've loved our Doppler. used it yesterday in fact. its lovely to hear and reassuring for dh as he wishes he could feel all the kicks I feel.
we don't know what we're having can't wait to find out.
I have to be in at 8am tomorrow earliest i'll have been up for a while better get used to it though

DH was excited to hear the heartbeat too. It took ages to find it and he'd just given up and taken his headphones off, so I was frantically trying to get his attention without moving it

Fox, ooooh, I have an Angel Sounds doppler from when I was pregnant with M. It never occurred to me that I could find a hb so early, though - it says from 15 weeks on the instructions. I think I'll wait until after the scan (only 2 more sleeps!) and then give it a go if everything looks fine there. I last used it the day M was born - I woke up at 5am and couldn't feel her moving, so totally panicked and DH got the monitor out to reassure me.

Got my first maternity clothes yesterday - I chucked most of my old ones as I couldn't stand the sight of them any more. Also, they really aren't made to last for longer than 9 months, grr, or at least my cheap ASOS, H&M and Topshop ones aren't. I bought myself some new maternity jeans (black, skinny, underbump, ASOS, £20) and Mum gave me some lovely new maternity dresses from Topshop for Christmas. She really is a star! I can wear a lot of my old clothes still but anything that was on the tight side very fitted is out. My normal jeans are ok for a bit and then start to dig in in the evenings after I've eaten dinner.

Too I have an angel sounds one as well!! I found a heartbeat at 10 weeks, though it took a while!! Good move on the maternity gear. So nice to be comfy.

too and maybe I got the angel sounds too! It had some good reviews online so thought I'd give it a go. It says it's not meant to work yet, but others said it had for them (although I saw it hadn't worked for some until much later on) so I thought if I can't get it to work, I can just try and presume it's too early?! I couldn't get it to work yesterday, so just tried again today!

too I'm jealous of your maternity wear! I don't feel like I need it just yet, although only wear jogging bottoms around the house as they're sooo much conifer than jeans now!! Oooh only 2 more sleeps until your scan!! How exciting!
