Ladies I think we need a new festive thread to take us through to the end of the year. And as it will be me to sneeze next –how did it get around to my turn so quickly???-- I thought I would do the honours.

Hey everyone, just passing by to Brook for a happy new year and happy fast sneeze births :)

SantaMaybe · 31/12/2013 15:52

Happy new year lovely Boo x

And happy new year to all the lovely brookers x

ThedementedPenguin · 01/01/2014 10:44

I keep losing this off TIO,

Hope everyone has had a great Christmas and new year.

I didn't do anything last night, I was asleep before 11 as I was exhausted.

Heading to my mums today for dinner as it's my sisters birthday, so we always get together.

keepitgoing · 01/01/2014 17:07

happy new year!! here's to more sneeze births. and more recruits

I was in bed at 9.30 last night...

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 01/01/2014 21:02

Happy New Year, o lovely Brookers!

I was also in bed long before the bells. Have had a lovely day today, though - it's DH's birthday and we went out for the first time without M just the two of us. We've been out without her before but in groups, never just us on our own. Went to see The Hobbit Part 2 and had a lovely dinner afterwards. Now lying on sofa wishing I hadn't eaten so much and hoping DH doesn't want any birthday nookie due to aforementioned over-eating.

Fox82 · 02/01/2014 11:25

Happy New Year! Wine

Sounds like you had a lovely time for DHs birthday yesterday Too! I spent the day doing nothing as we had friends round for NYE and didn't go to bed until gone 3am! Then as they stayed over with their children, we were up again by 8am. I think the lack of sleep made me feel queasy all day, and to feel better I wanted to eat but didn't know what. Except I was full from all the NYE food so also didn't want to eat! Confusing day!! Confused

Had my booking in appointment this morning! Was given my big booklet and lots of leaflets and was told to expect my scan letter in the post soon! Smile Went on my own as it was DHs first day back at work and I could tell he was worrying about taking time off today, but it was fine and there was no need for him to really go anyway. The midwife didn't go through as much as I thought she would and wasn't overly friendly, but was polite. Could've been worse! Smile

SantaMaybe · 02/01/2014 13:39

Woohoo Fox you're a MWEPP!! Grin. I always think MW appointments are an anticlimax! But I still get excited by them Wink. Food confusion is so frustrating! I've never been as indecisive as I am now!!

Sounds like you had a good day Too! Has all illness left the house? I hope so.

You know how to live Keep Wink

Hope you're ok Pen

How are all other brookers?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 02/01/2014 14:43

Maybe, I've never been as suggestible, food-wise, as I am now! I just have to read that someone is eating something, or see it on TV, and I want it, whatever it is. Confused Now I'm hungry...

Fox, yay for being MW-approved! When's your next appt? Mine is to be at 16 weeks, and hopefully she'll be able to listen to the baby's hb by then. That's always lovely to hear.

This week is dragging. First scan next Tuesday and I have totally psyched myself out and am three-quarters convinced that there will be nothing there and it's all been a figment of my imagination. The scan can't come fast enough! 12+2 today.

ThedementedPenguin · 02/01/2014 14:55

fox hopefully you'll get your letter for scan soon.

maybe I'm the same, can never decide what I want. It's hateful.

Sorry it's another moan from me...

Thought the household was better, cough has finally left. Ds is teething but is great. Dp well always complains he unwell, it's hard to know what's man flu and real sometimes.

Then I spent all of last night vomiting. Finally got to sleep around 6 this morning. Very little sleep today and just feel so weak. Thankfully Dp took the day off to deal with ds.

Hope everyone else is keeping well. Smile

SantaMaybe · 02/01/2014 16:28

Oh that's no good Pen. Are you feeling any better now?

Too sometimes I am so consumed by the thought of a certain food. Or the hatred of one. At the moment I'm back to not really wanting food at all though. Hurry up next week!! Of course there's a baby in there. Maybe even two.....Wink

Fox82 · 02/01/2014 16:33

Oh no Pen! Brooking you get lots of sleep tonight and feel loads better. My DH is the same - I never know when he's REALLY ill Smile

Too my next midwife app is at 16 weeks as well Smile. She said she'd listen to the heartbeat as well which is sooo exciting. I've got to have bloods taken next week as well. I feel exactly the same as you though - have convinced myself that nothing will be there at the scan Sad I haven't had many symptoms, which I know I should be grateful for, but I can't help thinking its a bad sign. I was in a down mood all day the other day as I was so sure I'm going to get bad news. I was the tiniest bit sick through brushing my teeth this morning though and text DH straight away with the "good" news Grin

Maybe I have to mentally list everything we have to eat in our kitchen (not much!) until I hit on the thing I want. I can't just think, oh I want this right now! Confused

SantaMaybe · 02/01/2014 19:55

Fox you're going to be great. When is your scan? The food thing is a nightmare. I've driven poor MrM mad Grin

Where are Bumpie, Solars, Trix and Stacks? Haven't heard from you lovelies in a while

Trix you're so nearly there!

cartoontrickster · 02/01/2014 20:23

happy new year!
I've been laying low as I'm starting to feel bloody terrified about everything! Confused Confused
pen sorry your feeling shite hope you get a good sleep tonite
too not very long till your scan then, so exciting and you too fox hopefully you don't have too long to wait.
dh and my mum will both be with me at the hospital on Monday I just hope my induction doesn't take too long!

SantaMaybe · 02/01/2014 20:30

I'm so excited for you Trix!!! Brooking for a sneeze induction Smile

cartoontrickster · 02/01/2014 20:51

thanks maybe can't wait to find out which flavour I've got! but I'm also nervous of coping with a baby and don't have much of an idea what the birth will be like. the unknown freaks me out a bit.
bizarrely I've just been sick first time in the entire pregnancy Hmm

SantaMaybe · 02/01/2014 21:02

Oh bless you. Your hormones and nerves will be all over the place! You're going to be great though, just focus on the end result. And you've got lots of support too x

cartoontrickster · 02/01/2014 21:09

Smile eyes on the prize and being a brooker surely I will just sneeze the baby right out.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 02/01/2014 21:20

Eyes on the prizes indeed Trix you'll be just fine!

SantaMaybe · 02/01/2014 21:37

Exactly Trix Smile

Solars · 02/01/2014 23:41

Happy New Year everyone!

Trix you will be fine! I'm brooking no argument about that! I'm very excited for you and that you'll be meeting the little one very soon now!!

Fox congrats on being MWEPP!! The only thing that keeps me going to these mw appointments is hearing the heartbeat!!

Hope you feel better soon Pen

Too of course the baby is there! not long to go now until your scan!

Maybe are you back at work now?

I didn't stay up 'til midnight on NYE, the first time ever I think, I was just so tired, I really tried to but was just falling asleep on the couch, poor MrS had to see the new year in on his own although he said the baby was awake too as he was feeling my tummy, which was kind of sweet! I've been meeting up with my NHS antenatal mums to be which has been nice, we've already met twice this week and there's a meet up with partners this weekend too but we can't make it. Apart from that not much else to report.

SantaMaybe · 03/01/2014 10:14

Glad all is ok Solars, and lovely that you have some locals to meet up with. Yes, was back at work yesterday, the Christmas break went far too quick. Still, only 20 working days to go!! And it can't come soon enough Grin

SweetieTime · 04/01/2014 12:16

Maybe time is flying for you, only 20 days left to go. Where has the time gone???? Before you know it you will be having those newborn snuggles.

Solars we were in bed about 10.30 on NYE, I did hear fireworks going off but didn't bother to get up for a look. It sounds nice to have a support network of Mums local to you. I am going to have to make an effort to get to know other Mums local to me. There are a couple of twins groups that I can go to.

Trix you will be fine when Treats comes along. Just get the basics right and the rest will come over time. Make sure you look after yourself and get any help you might need post birth. It has been a bit of a shock that post birth is tougher than expected with all the hormones added to the mix. I have been told by everyone that it takes 6 weeks for things to settle back down so don't expect things to happen overnight.

Sorry I haven't been around for a while but my vision has meant I couldn't see properly to read. It is slowly getting better but I have to be careful not to strain my eyes. The twins are doing really well and both coming along well. I am surprised by how much they sleep, although they are a bit more awake in the evenings. So far we have been blessed with their sleeping, we were all woken by the postman this morning at 9am!!!

SantaMaybe · 04/01/2014 13:39

Oh Sweetie it sounds like you're all doing so well!! And in so pleased your eyes are getting there. That must've been scary.

I meant 20 more days of work, 79 days till EDD. Not that I'm counting Wink. Think time is going to fly now Christmas is out of the way!

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 04/01/2014 13:48

It really will Maybe, K is an April baby (just, 30th) and after Christmas the weeks just flew by!

Sweetie pleased your eyes are starting to improve, and those babies sound like super sleepers! It really helps you recover if you get sleep, I hope they stay like it, but even if they don't, they've done it at the most important time for you iynwim, I'm Brooking for a long lasting sleeping pair for you!

Hiya every one else, how are you all doing? Can't believe how many sneezes we've got coming up :) Ooh its exciting!!!

SantaMaybe · 04/01/2014 14:35

God Boo, that means K will be 1 before we know it Shock
