frizz so sorry to hear that the school have treated your DH in that way, that sucks :(

toby glad the minion cake went down well, it looks great.

Result tooth Grin

papermoon great scan news, 6lb 10 oz is big, is he on the 99 centile?

sultana how exciting about your friend :)

nature, put your foot down, they shouldn't be over loading you so close to the end, do you have a supportive manager or HR person you can talk to?

Mythreeknights · 18/11/2013 11:29

Just checking in...frizz don't despair...where one door closes another two open. It's a frightening experience but something WILL work out and you will look back on this time as an awful period but that you survived it.

My eyelid / 'skin cancer' test (instinctively I KNOW it's not) is in 2 days...quite excited (if that makes any sense). Following a couple of weeks of intensely itchy, burny and bleeding skin it has settled down, which is a relief but I hope it still allows for a correct diagnosis iyswim.

Other than that, bump is highly active now and now peeing at least twice a night which is a pain. Had a weekend on the West Coast with lots of walks to the beach in the cold wind, cake making, cake eating Grin and general merriment.

enjoyingscience · 18/11/2013 11:44

Oh Frizz, that's horrible. Your poor DH. I hope they find a proper placement soon. Is he registered with lots of agencies?

I'm mumsnetting at work to avoid my terrifying pile of work. It's not a great strategy, but it's the only one I've got at the minute.

I think weight estimates at scans are pretty guess-y.

enormouse · 18/11/2013 11:46

Freebie newborn nappies, I joined practically every baby club going - tesco, asda, hipp, pampers and boots and they tend to send out the odd sample or pack of wipes. I don't think I can join them again though.

book I don't think the measurements are accurate, more of a rough guideline. I was told that ds would be between 9 and 10lb and he came out 8lb 5. I've been told that DS2 is going to be even bigger, he's currently nearly 4lb at 30weeks. But I'm taking it with a pinch of salt.

Major rant alert - I really really want to lamp my DP round the head with a blunt object. He has form for being lazy and messy. But he had improved slightly over the past few weeks. Turns out he was leaving me the difficult, unpleasant jobs he doesn't like doing. I.e. he'll put a few dishes in the dishwasher without scraping them properly, or shove some things in the machine and forget about them but he won't clean the bathroom, take the rubbish out or tackle a baked on dish. He's left the kitchen such a mess after 2 days of his cooking, I don't want to make lunch in it for DS and I.

I can't bear mess and its really upsetting me that this is yet another thing I don't have the energy to do. I feel like sending him and DS to his parents. I was supposed to be going away this coming weekend but my iron is so low I was advised to cancel. Now I'll be stuck here whilst his 2 mates are over, babysitting whilst they play on the fucking xbox.

Aargh sorry, it's all a woe is me over here. I may just spend the weekend conveniently out and leave him with the toddler.

enormouse · 18/11/2013 11:50

mythree great to hear you're feeling better.

Toby I'm going to take a gander at your minions cake.

frizz fx for you and your DP.

AnotherStitchInTime · 18/11/2013 11:53

enormouse I think now would be the time for your toddler to magically 'lose' a crucial part of the xbox pad or adaptor (evil Grin).

extracrunchy · 18/11/2013 12:03

Mythree glad you're feeling more positive - and you're likely to be absolutely right!

extracrunchy · 18/11/2013 12:04

Frizz can't believe your poor DH's luck Sad there will be more opportunities though - keeping all my digits crossed for you.

fryingpantoface · 18/11/2013 12:08

My blood pressure is still high, not enough for me to be in hospital, but enough for it to be a bit of a concern. The baby is fine, they just don't know why my Bp is higher. I'm to take it easy and relax and go back every week for blood pressure monitoring. They've also given me strong (as strong as they can be during pregnancy) painkillers to help with the headaches.

I'm really not a dramatic person normally, i hate putting people out, so this is a bit alien to me. is going to be ok. I just need to stop trying to do everything.

MIL has ds for me today so I'm going to do very little for the whole day. I'm under orders from dh to do precisely that. Which is nice.

OP posts:
enormouse · 18/11/2013 12:22

another I've already initiated a plan of silent sabotage. I have let him 'play' with the game cases. And pull the discs out and rub them on our parquet floor. And on occasion let him stand on the box itself so he could see out the window and wave at whats-her-face-acrosstheroad.
Evil Grin

fryingpan definitely take it easy. I will join you in trying not to do very much too. Though it doesn't come naturally.

Naturegirl82 · 18/11/2013 12:25

Oh dear enormous my dh does a similar thing. Will attempt to clean the baked on dish but does such a poor job I have to re-do it anyway.

frying hope you are ok. At least they are keeping a close eye on you. I'm the same, don't make a fuss and keep going so it's weird when you start having to have loads of extra check ups. But it's in yours and the babies best interest.

So I've emailed hr. I have to give 28days notice to change my leave date and I've given 31 so there can't be any complaints. I am reliant on my line manager approving moving my holiday forward though, which may not happen until next week Sad Fingers crossed nobody kicks up a fuss.

extracrunchy · 18/11/2013 12:35

Good call, Nature! Hope it works out.

BookTart · 18/11/2013 12:48

Good for you nature!

I'm glad you got checked out and that they are monitoring you flying. Hope the lovely drugs kick in soon :)

enormouse, I would NEVER condone this sort of thing obviously Wink but How to break an X-Box subtly

I am currently panicking about hiccups. She's getting them for about 10 minutes, 3 times a day. That's alright isn't it? I've upset myself reading stupid American pregnancy websites because I am a numpty.

TobyLerone · 18/11/2013 12:56

Mine's getting hiccups at least once a day too, book. Stop googling!

BookTart · 18/11/2013 13:07

Because she is already head down I am getting hiccups in my fanjo. It is making delivering training sessions and looking all sensible in meetings very hard! I got so upset about it all yesterday that I almost convinced myself to ask for an early ELCS, because it would be safer for the baby. I am quite close to being cock-out crazy at the mo!

When is your scan toby? Is that when you get to know your birth options?

MrsVDB · 18/11/2013 13:59

I don't think I've felt hiccups yet, loads of kicks and wriggles but nothing which has made me think its hiccups. Although I'm getting random hiccups more than normal!

MrsVDB · 18/11/2013 14:11

Is anyone else worried about weight gain? I was overweight before and lost 1 1/2 stone in first tri but have since put it back on in 4 months. Not worried about the amount of weight I've gained yet but more the rate I am. I've put on about 7lbs in last month and worried that it'll only speed up in last 2 months

TobyLerone · 18/11/2013 14:17

Scan's in a couple of weeks, book, thanks for asking. And yes, that's when I get to know if the biggest fibroid has moved far enough away from my cervix so that I can have a normal delivery. Fingers crossed!

The baby's been head down for ages -- at least a couple of months. It's very easy to feel where all the bits are :)
But yes, the hiccups down there are weird! I didn't even know that hiccups could possibly mean something is wrong. Both of my DC had them often in utero. I don't plan on googling!

Naturegirl82 · 18/11/2013 14:21

mrsvdb I've been worried by a lack of weight gain recently. I lost some weight and don't seem to be putting any on at the moment. A lot of the weight gain at the end is the baby though which is why the rate increases.

So request to change dates has been put in, but it all hinges on whether they approve a change in my holiday dates. If they don't I'll have to stay as originally planned. Sad

Angelesque · 18/11/2013 15:21

mrsvdb your weight gain sounds like what the books say you should expect in the last trimester - it should all be speeding up now, right?

Like nature I've been worried about not gaining enough weight but it seems that if your midwife is happy with the growth of bump and baby that they really don't care about the weight of the mother.

Besides, if one more person tells me that my baby "must be coming earlier than the due date" because my bump is "so massive" I think I might scream :)

MrsGSR · 18/11/2013 15:38

Flowers to another, Frizz and those who are struggling with too much work and stupid bosses/colleagues

Blue I'm the same, can't sleep in pitch black silence at night but during the day when it's light and loud I can!

Good luck for the test Mythree, I'm sure it'll all be fine :)

frying hope you can relax lots the next few weeks!

I think I read that 1lb a week in the last few months is normal. Can't remember where though!

I think baby is head down, as I'm being kicked in the ribs a lot! I've also been told I'm huge, fundal height is staying consistently just below the 50% line so I'm ignoring them all!

fryingpantoface · 18/11/2013 15:56

I've had a nap, about 90 mins after a bath and it was lovely. Hard to get out of bed though.

i also forgot to take something out of the freezer for tea, so i think it's gonna be egg, sausage and chips for tea. Yummy

Sultanajo · 18/11/2013 18:04

Ok, forgotten most things I have just read ffs!

book am getting daily hiccups this end, sometimes more than once a day. Am now using all of my willpower not to google after your question....Hmm

mythree not long until you get your diagnosis now... Glad you are feeling positive about it now.

frying glad you are being closely watched and are following doctors orders! Grin

nature well done for making the decision to bring things forward! Absolutely the right decision! Fingers crossed they authorise your hols asap!

Still no further news from my mate in labour....the suspense!!!

Heartburn has been an evil little bitch today. Think I may have overdone the oj and lemonades....time to drop the oj (or at least reduce it...).

Today has flown by - had a nice lunch out with my mate, but it was a two hour round trip so basically took most of the day....

Midwife in the morning. Must remember to pee in my pot!!! Grin

Frizz1986 · 18/11/2013 20:03

Thanks for the support everyone.
Cant remember who asked but yes dh is with some agencies. He is with 3 and has been with 2 since late august, and the third one (who got him this work) for about a month. So far he has had 1 day of work plus today, which turned out to be babysitting leisure and tourism class and RE class so he didn't even get to do any science teaching which is what he actually does as a job. All feels pretty s&?t right now to be honest, but trying to be positive in front of dh as i know he feels under pressure and just wants to teach. Haven't seen him yet as he is out playing games with friends tonight which will hopefully cheer him up, but when he text he said that he thought it was the school that messed up not the agency. Doesn't really soften the blow though.

Cant really remember what else has been going on today so really sorry for being all about me. Just cant focus on much else.

nature glad you are moving your dates. I moved mine (only by 2 days) but its nice to know the end is a bit closer.

mythree hope that the appointment goes well and you get positive news.

Naturegirl82 · 18/11/2013 20:16

How did you meeting with hr go Frizz?

I'm a bit worried about leaking. Currently doing the usual pad in lie down routine so fingers crossed it's all ok.

Holiday request is currently with director who will speak to my line manager so hopefully I'll know one way or another this week.
