Good to hear from you toby! Get you knitting so much! I still haven't gone back to the patchwork quilt I said I would finish before bubs arrives...Well in the grand scheme of things....

Sultanajo · 02/12/2013 10:32

Good luck felix! Hope she gets it first time this time.....

Mythreeknights · 02/12/2013 10:39

Sultana constant BHs sounds encouraging...you are about 36 weeks now aren't you? I was reading my diaries from my 2 previous pgs last night and from about 36 weeks I was definitely feeling 'pre-labour'. In the end, DS1 came at 38+4 and DS2 came at 39+3, so I reckon that last month is all about 'softening', 'ripening', 'opening' and it is basically seriously uncomfortable.

Also, chocco seriously, I know this might sound selfish, (but frankly, if a girl can't be a bit selfish when 9 months pregnant then when can she be...) but although it's a real shame about your DHs friend being newly single and without anyone else to turn to, but really these next few weeks should really be about YOU. If it was me, I'd put my foot down and say this is not happening. YOU need your DHs full attention, YOU have kidney stones and are in constant pain, and unless he wants to help tip you into a completely desolate mental state, then he needs to put YOU first, for once. Let his friend come over for Xmas day or something, but not staying the night and not for longer. Maybe I'm a complete bitch, but one thing life has taught me is that there are occasions when if you don't put yourself first, no-one else will and that leads to massive resentment.

BookTart · 02/12/2013 10:39

Oh no felix - I hope she has better aim this time. Best to get checked though.

choco, as if you haven't suffered enough! I second the omeprazole recommendation - definitely don't suffer if you don't have to.

frying glad things have settled down.

Last week at work for me. Friday can't come soon enough. I'm massive, I keep dropping things because my fingers are so swollen now, I haven't slept for ages and they've taken all my work away anyway! Also, the crazy has come back with a vengeance today and I keep prodding my bump like a nutcase to try and make the baby move. Somebody give me a slap!

DH spent yesterday decorating the whole house in tinselly crap. This year, there are two trees as well, because apparently one isn't enough for two people. I am the Anti-Santa, and do not take well to this sort of festive behaviour. It makes him happy though Xmas Smile

I vote humpty needs to change her name to Tramp Magnet Grin

Naturegirl82 · 02/12/2013 10:57

I've been keeping up over the weekend but not had chance to post and now can't remember much.

choco hope you feel better soon.

I did not have a good nights sleep last night. woke up with baby wedged under ribs (at least I knew what the pain was this time so gave her a good prod to move her), then woken by leg cramp (which I surprised myself and managed to breathe through the pain rather than the usual swearing and it did help), now today the carpal tunnel has flared up and it feels like a nerve is trapped in my back so sitting and walking is proving difficult. Still awaiting decision on whether I can finish on Friday or not but I'm making sure everything is done in case they turn around and say I can leave as long as all my handover is done. Smile

Naturegirl82 · 02/12/2013 10:58

Glad there have been no new babies yet and things are settling down frying

Felix good luck with the blood taking hope it goes ok

sultanajo how is your cat doing?

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 02/12/2013 11:40

Well, DD woke up bright as a button this morning. Rash gone, and is currently covering me in disney princess stickers, demanding snacks and forcing me to sit through endless bloody Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I spent the whole night setting my alarm and checking for rashes every two hours by torchlight, and am now exhausted. Although with all my frantic Googling last night i can now pretty much tell you what any given rash may be and how to treat it, so it wasn't all for naught Hmm. Thanks for the hand holding, all Smile

Felix I'm only just losing the delightful bruises from my GTT which was flippin' weeks ago now. Hope you get through it relatively unscathed!

chocco I'm with MyThree - i'd be raging (probably silently, inwardly and passive aggressively, but raging none the less).

Nature fingers crossed for Friday! Two weeks Thursday for me - i can do it!

Oh I'm also experiencing the rib-flicking. And she seems to be on the wonk in there a bit, so i get rib-tickling and opposite hipbone smashing at the same time. I can't wait to meet this monster...

Sultanajo · 02/12/2013 12:19

mythree that's really interesting about your bh in your last two pregnancies. Yep am 36+3 today! Yay! Really hope that means this little one will arrive before Xmas then....or he at least hopefully wont keep me hanging around well into January!

nature I cant remember exactly what you said despite having just read it but I know I felt for you when I read it! Poor you! My little cat is holding his own currently thanks - perked up with the multitude of vitamin injections we gave him and seems more settled in himself, so hoping he will settle for at least another few months....

purple am not surprised you are knackered, but great news your DD is perky again and the rash has gone. We will know who to ask in future if we come across any rashes!

Sultanajo · 02/12/2013 12:25

nature oh yes I remember. Your bloody work still messing you around ffs! Really hope they say you can leave on Friday!

yay for last weeks or nearly last weeks at work! Its the best feeling!

book I don't think the bat shit crazy ever leaves - it just lies dormant for a bit and then comes back full throttle!

Am off to see my mate and her 6 month old little boy now....hoping I can stay awake long enough to make some sensible conversation!

MrsVDB · 02/12/2013 12:38

Ok last shopping update of the day but mothercare has all cosytoes/footmuffs half price today plus the additional 20% off

Felix90 · 02/12/2013 13:44

Nature sorry you had a crap nights sleep :( bet you'll be glad to finish work soon.

Purple glad your little one is feeling better now. I bet you're shattered after being up all night! Hopefully you can fit a nap in somewhere today...

Midwife managed to remove my blood without hacking my arm to bits which was good! She said the hospital will ring me if anything comes up on the results but if nothing shows up I'll just get a letter through, so now it's a waiting game. She said there's a risk of still birth with the liver thing so I need to keep an eye on movement and call straight away if I think anything is wrong. Also she said if the blood test comes up positive they usually induce you at 37 weeks which is only 2 weeks away BlushShock HOLY MOLY!

fryingpantoface · 02/12/2013 13:47

Dh was supposed to be off on Friday, so i could leave him at home with ds while i go to the midwife. He's now working. I have noone to watch ds and i have to see the midwife. What should i do? He has the pox!!

OP posts:
TobyLerone · 02/12/2013 13:56

Ring her and tell her but you may have to reschedule. What a PITA.

Good news re your successful blood test, Felix!

MrsGSR · 02/12/2013 14:11

Sultana I hope your DH does take some paternity leave. Glad you SIL has spoken to her about smoking!

My family are pretty good at going outside to smoke, and MIL has been very careful about smoking around me when pregnant so I'm not too worried about them, but DHs dad and step mum (sounds weird as she's younger than him!) smoke in their house, and will expect us to visit them. DH has been great at getting them to smoke in the kitchen and not the living room whilst I've been there, but the house does smell a little smokey so we don't stay long as I wont want to take baby there.

Aww, Choco that's a long list! I've had the sicky reflux thing a few times if I eat dinner too late. Seems to be ok as long as we eat before 6. Heartburn is bad enough on it's own, I can't image how bad it is with everything else too, definitely go to your doctor and see what he can prescribe if the liquid doesn't work.

Humpty I've become (more) clumsy too, hoping it's something that will go away after baby is born!

Frying Glad the bh have died down, hope maternity leave improves!

Purple Glad your DD is feeling better!

I'm feeling useless today, I've put some crappy american cooking shows on in the background and I'm attempting to tidy up after a weekend being lazy with DH!

enormouse · 02/12/2013 14:28

Phew! It's all go here!

choco please be a little selfish. Not saying that your DHs mate will be anything like the twazzocks I had to stay last week but they do regress when together and they were unbearable as a unit. Or maybe you can reach a compromise with the mate staying in a travelodge just before Christmas? I won't ever have DPs friends over again, I've learnt my lesson. It's not worth being nice.

felix great that she got your vein. I hate blood tests as my veins have a tendancy to collapse.

sultana glad to hear the cat is getting better.

purple lovely news Xmas Smile

I had an awful night last night. Impromptu trip to hospital in an ambulance because of an allergic reaction to feta cheese. Baby and I are both fine though and it was a relatively short stay in a and e. Luckily it happened at DPs parents and they looked after DS, who thoroughly enjoyed his sleepover at granny and grandads. Came home at 2am and found him in his vest and nappy eating shortbread and watching rebus in his grannys bed.

Future MIL was mortified to have accidentally poisoned me but slip ups happen.

MrsV word of warning about the mothercare essential cosytoes - they have a tendency to trap under pram and get really muddy. Was really unimpressed with the one I bought to go on my u move pushchair. It's completely filthy now.

extracrunchy · 02/12/2013 14:44

Enormouse that's so unlucky! Hope you're feeling better. Your DS in bed with shortbread is hilarious! Bet you're both knackered today.

We had the same experience with Mothercare cosy toes - but maybe it depends on the buggy too...

MrsVDB · 02/12/2013 14:47

Oh dear enormouse glad they fixed you quickly

Thank you for advice. The discount is off all cosytoes not just mothercare but didn't really know what I was looking at so just went for a lamb skin liner instead :)

Felix90 · 02/12/2013 15:13

MrsV is it the lamb skin comforter you bought? I am just looking at it now and really like it but not too sure what it's actually for haha! Do you think I could use it to line my Silver Cross Kensington?

MrsVDB · 02/12/2013 15:26

felix yes not the mothercare one but the other one. I plan to use it in the carrycot for him to lie on and maybe on the floor or something if he's led there can you tell I have no idea I'd like to use it in the pram too and assume if it doesn't already fit I could just cut slits

Felix90 · 02/12/2013 15:28

I've just ordered it! Thanks for the heads up, it was only £24.50 including delivery Grin I want an adult sized one haha

Felix90 · 02/12/2013 16:28

Also just ordered 4x bodysuits, a pair of leggings and a super cute knitted all in one for £30 from GAP with the 40% off code! Being off work is seriously damaging to my bank balance Blush

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 02/12/2013 16:59

frying glad you're still with us in the bump-brigade! Hang in there. Agree with toby - ring mw and explain. She might do a home visit if urgent enough (and she's immune)?

sultana BHs are weird, eh? Mine are quite strong - not painful, they just sort of limit movement!

Toby good luck on weds, I will be keeping everything crossed for good news re birth/fibroids. I have a half-packed hospital bag (still no baby clothes in it Grin) so you're probably going to be more prepared than me as of Weds anyway...

mythree interesting about the last month of 'ripening' (although if I 'ripen' much more, I am liable to explode like a a plum in September.
Also YYYY to what you said to choco. So true.

book I am the Tramp-Magnet. . I may nc just for you

MrsV still a bad influence, I see... Grin

felix glad you got checked, and massive fingers crossed for no 37 week induction! Keep spending - I'm sure that will help Grin

enormouse you poor thing! Are you feeling better now? How scary. Are you always allergic to it?

Well, today, FIL dropped by to say hello and was very sweetly excited about bump/being a grandad (he is NOT the demonstrative type) and took us out for lunch. Then this afternoon I've washed and tumble-dried the first load of baby clothes, so I feel like I'm almost ready. Almost. NOT QUITE . Seeing midwife on Thurs to transfer to Lewisham care, then visit the birth centre in a week or so for a tour - yay! Feeling v productive today.

Swannykazoo · 02/12/2013 17:26

I'm sure we have the busiest thread...choco I'm on ranitidine (keeps acid levels low rather than just trying to keep it in your tummy) Both it and omeprazole are ok for pregnancy. I can manage everything except garlic bread and spiced onions without misery so don't suffer in silence...

felix 37 weeks sounds quite near - hope you're feeling organised and serene

Good luck all those with scans of placenta/baby- mine's tomorrow and I'm pretty convinced its a head under my ribs not a bottom. Can't see how there's any room for swivelling either though admittedly I can't see how there's room anywhere else for the baby to come out which I'm not thinking about

Off to open the big box with the pram.....

Sultanajo · 02/12/2013 18:56

enormouse ekkk! Something you could have done without! Glad you are ok!

humpty yay for being productive!

puggle good luck at your scan tomorrow...

Just stuffed myself with donuts! Feeling massive today - just cant see how bump can get any bigger!

sarahleanne · 02/12/2013 19:02

purple Glad that your little girl is all better.
felix great news about the successful bloods I hate them and fingers crossed for the results.
choco you are a saint. I so would not have anyone staying in my house who I wasn't seriously close to right on top of Christmas and giving birth.
puggle good luck for your scan

Had my 34 week appointment today and have opted for a home birth eeeeek. Anyone had one before in here? I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. Baby is still head down but back to back so I have been told to lean over on a birthing ball whilst watching tv in the evenings. I don't have a birthing ball so I'm guessing the pouffe(sp?) will do Grin

DH is on his way home after 3 weeks away! Currently sat in Aberdeen airport waiting for a flight so he wont be back until 11ish but I am looking forward to him being home again Smile.
