Wont they try and stop your labour like they did with me Whisper? Because your not yet 37 weeks?

itsliz · 16/11/2013 20:15

Ooh good luck Whisper, hope everything's ok! Let us know how you get on and as always, just remember that you're in the best possible place so try not to worry too much Smile

NomDeClavier · 16/11/2013 20:18

rose I quite want a 2013 baby for tax reasons too Wink but if she waits for 2014 she's oldest in the class rather than the very youngest.

BohemianRaspberry · 16/11/2013 20:21

Hi hi

hope you are okay whisper

We called the national grid as soon as we smelled the gas and they have capped off our supply as 'dangerous and high risk'. I now have to find a plumbing and heating engineer to fix our gas pipes.

We now have no heating and no hot water.

Best case scenario - old gas cooker pipe cap is leaking and only needs re-sealing
Worst case scenario - a pipe has fractured and half our kitchen needs to be ripped out to fix it.

Have cried. A lot.

WhisperMen · 16/11/2013 20:41

Protein in my urine and had a blood test. baby fine and dandy but I wasn't worried about that anyway Smile

I hadn't considered the hobbit. GOD DAMNIT BABY!

Alyssa1978 · 16/11/2013 20:48

whisper hope everything's ok Hun, you're in the best possible place. Let us know how you're getting on when you get the chance.

chelsea just a feeling I've got, all this slow/false labour is pissing me off lol.
Plus this is number 3 for me and it was clear with the other 2 that labour was near and I was only 1cm with ds1 the first time I went into hospital Smile

bohemian I really hope it's the easier one for you Hun and you don't have to take out half your kitchen hugs

Stom91 · 16/11/2013 20:49

Sorry ladies!! I hoped it jinxed me but no luck :(

Hope everything is

clare8allthepies · 16/11/2013 21:11

Try again! Hope everything is ok Whisper Damnit I was planning to go and watch the hunger games before DD arrived, oh well!

Finally started having period type pain and backache but just a constant, low pain, nothing you could class as a contraction!

DP has just gone home as visiting hours are up, so far DD is behaving herself at his parents, let's hope that lasts.

Think it's a long, boring night ahead folks!

Hope you manage to get sorted Bohemian not what you want to deal with in the last month of pregnancy!

WhisperMen · 16/11/2013 22:32

I have a uti so being sent home with antibiotics and have to come back on monday to see the doctor again. not entirely sure why I have to come back though Confused

MrsEllsmore · 17/11/2013 08:29

Right I'm braving a 180 mile drive to visit family and friends where I grew up today, only got to drive 1 way on my own then my dm is coming back with me. Hopefully no early labour while I'm a long way from home but I'm taking my (half packed) hospital bag just in case!

Hope everyone else slows down or speeds up depending on what you want/need!

Alyssa1978 · 17/11/2013 08:35

That's good whisper at least its not early labour Hun and baby can keep cooking. Not sure about the re visit Monday either but he must have a reason Confused what did they say about the protein etc? Maybe they're gonna re check on Monday.

clare I hope you're progressing nicely now Smile

Worst night sleep ever!! I seem to get a couple of hours and then I'm tossing and turning all night and up/down to the toilet, I never really need it, I just keep hoping my restless leg and body will quit after I have gotten up and walked.
Dp back to work for his 4 on and my mum is away so its gonna be a long long day, no buses venture through here on a Sunday Sad

Have a good Sunday everyone.

Alyssa1978 · 17/11/2013 08:35

Have fun mrsellsmore keep your legs crossed Hun. Lol x

Chelsealady · 17/11/2013 08:41

How do i make my profile not private??

Featherbag · 17/11/2013 08:42

How's everyone this morning? whisper hope you're feeling better, and hope clare is well on the way to baby snuggles! Bohemian, hope you get your gas sorted with minimum fuss! It's a nightmare and one you could really do without at the minute.

I've slept in bits and bobs, poor DH isn't at all well so I gave up on sleep at about 6.30 and now having Sunday morning cuddles on the sofa with DS. No pains overnight, having some irregular contractions now but nothing too painful. Think I'm just going to have to put up with it, but will be going straight back down the unit if I feel different. Was a bit concerned that the advice the MW was giving me yesterday about coming back down seemed based on a VB - I had to remind her several times my baby is breech, I'm having a cs for many reasons with the breech being the least of them, and that I had a very quick 2nd stage first time round! So no, I won't be waiting until the contractions are 3 minutes apart, a minute in duration and unbearable as if I do that I'll probably end up with a breech VB, which is VERY high on my 'do not want' list!

4 more days baby, hang on!

Alyssa1978 · 17/11/2013 09:00

feather that sounds very high on my list of things I wouldn't want to do either.
Here's hoping baby stays in there for you and I wouldn't be taking the mw advice either, I don't wait that long to go into hospital with a head down vb so I certainly wouldn't be waiting that long if baby was breech. I do 5.1.1 they are at least 5 minutes apart lasting for a minute and have been for at least an hour.

Good luck Hun x

BetterWithCheese · 17/11/2013 09:11

This thread is very exciting- can I join? I'm due Christmas Eve with my second, already have DS who will be 3 at end of January. I feel more fed up this time at almost 35 weeks than I did at 41 weeks with first one! I've been having loads of BH where stomach goes hard but also gets bouts of menstrual-like cramps so I should fit in well on this thread Wink.

Feather hope baby plays nice and keeps quiet for next few days.

Whisper Hope UTI improves quickly

Clare sending you dilatory (is that a word?) vibes!

WhisperMen · 17/11/2013 09:21

that doesn't sound like it is high on my list of things I want to do either feather
they only think it's a uti apparently. there was protein in my pee but they won't get the results of the tests till monday. I don't know when I'm going to be able to pick up my antibiotics as I'm at an antenatal class all day today and then back at the hospital on monday.

Featherbag · 17/11/2013 09:40

Ah whisper, UTIs suck, IME there's no such thing as 'just' a UTI! You need to make time to get the abs today, it's really really important the infection isn't allowed to start climbing, a kidney infection at this stage would be way past unpleasant!

Welcome cheese hope you've got your legs firmly crossed if you're joining this thread!

Alyssa1978 · 17/11/2013 09:43

Welcome better I feel you, I'm so fed up I've been in tears for the past hour.

I think it just these pains, they were a lot stronger this morning and accompanied with tons of tmi alert mucus and again they've just stopped dead in their tracks. I'm exhausted both physically and mentally, didnt feel any of this with the other 2 who are just running riot this morning as I don't have the energy to scold Shock OMG!! What's wrong with me lol.

13loki · 17/11/2013 09:48

Morning. Glad you're OK feather. I had excruciating braxton Hicks last night while feeding DD, was sure it was all starting, but it stopped as soon as she stopped feeding.

Hub has done the grocery shopping this morning, and will be playing with the kids while I go to IKEA soon to get sheets and all sorts. I realised that with a newborn 1 spare sheet may not be enough for our bed! Need to go to the baby shop for some sheets for the pushchair, too. Might pop in to the shopping centre and get baby a snowsuit, since we are predicted snow on Thursday.

38 weeks today.

mumoftwoboysS · 17/11/2013 09:50

Welcome better an Xmas eve baby! Well if you were a week late with dc1 looks like it might be a post Xmas baby perhaps?

alyssa sorry to hear you're suffering- perhaps it is true what my mw said about 3rd labours that they can be stop-start. She said first one takes longer as your body doesn't know what to do, second time your body knows what to do so it's quicker, third time your body knows what do do but resists a bit! Not sure why tho! How many weeks are you now? Have you tried paracetamol and sitting on a Swiss/exercise ball?

I had the most bizarre dream last night- looked down and an arm was sticking out of my bump! Then baby came out- just kind of ripped open my uterus/belly area. Weird thing is I was fine, baby was a bit prem and a boy! So bizarre!!

mumoftwoboysS · 17/11/2013 09:54

13loki 38 weeks, so envious! I'm 35 weeks today. Also envious you have an ikea near you. So want to go and get a few bits but closest one is an hour away so it always ends up being a day trip if we go. A new one should be opening near me next year (fingers crossed!) can't wait tho I'm sure DH wishes it wasn't as I may enjoy it too much! Grin

BetterWithCheese · 17/11/2013 10:25

alyssa did you see Horry's recent thread about having her third baby? There were lots of people on there saying that third one's are tricksy. Lots of starting and stopping but when they start properly they seem to progress quickly.

Thanks for the welcomes!

Alyssa1978 · 17/11/2013 10:26

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow mum, I live on my gym ball lol Grin
Just restocked my paracetamol yesterday too lol.
Yesterday felt lovely just to sit on the toilet and push, didnt need a poo as I'd already had about 8 Blush but just the pushing took the pain away a bit Confused

I'm at the mw on Thursday and if she doesn't check me I think they'll be hell on lol.
