Yes! I'm jealous I've had nothing but sore hips today :(. DP has three interviews next week all immediate start so she needs to hurry up!

froubylou · 16/11/2013 17:47

Bohemian if you are in the UK you need to ring the national grid folks if you haven't already. They will come and check it out.

Feathers fingers crossed it stops for you.

Whisper you haven't been right for a couple of days. Ring the midwife please!

Claire hope yours speeds up and chelsea I hope yours goes one way or another.

Anyone else?

Now can we all just settle down a little bit. You are making me bloody nervous. I am allergic to cats but happy to talk about puppies and ponies!

Roselau · 16/11/2013 17:55

what is going on here?!

I went out for early breakfast with DP because I was starving and craving pancakes (it's only 10AM here) and I come back to half this thread being in labour / pains, etc?! isn't this the december thread? it's only Nov 16th you have me all freaked out!

funny because at breakfast, DP was like: 'well since it's your first, isn't like 100% sure you'll go later than your due date?' well by the way things are going on here, it seems like it's not necessarily a sure thing, is it? I love how DPs all think they can predict what's going to happen and are so sure of themselves...

anyways, I feel ok. woke up with a bit of a headache but nothing to complain about when I read what you're all going through. having more and more BH to the point where I don't know if i'll be able to differentiate real labour because they can be really painful.

good luck clare!

feather I hope you're ok and the pain settles soon.

Also thanks for the advice on the diapering. I will be going with cloth. scares me a bit because i've never changed a baby with cloth diapers but I owe it to my LO to try if it's better for her. so i will make the effort

Hope you all have a relaxing saturday night xoxo

NomDeClavier · 16/11/2013 17:58

It really is all go today. Fingers crossed for those who are in labour, or might be and want to be, or might be and don't want to be!

Nothing to report from me a the odd BH, some stretching right down below which I'm guessing is baby deciding whether she wants to engage it not. As it's DC2 I'm not holding out much hope. Besides I'm teaching up until the 12th December and not going to an important meeting that week too but need to write a policy document and brief the person who is going before then. And I have a shedload of stuff to write so I shouldn't be on MN while DS is in the shower really.

But I'll talk ponies! DS goes riding and it's so, so cute. The Shetlands are so broad their legs stick out. I'm really looking forward to going for a good hack in the spring. I missed it this summer.

NomDeClavier · 16/11/2013 17:59

Do you know which type you'll go for rose? There are tons of different systems before you even get into brands from old fashioned terries (which I swear by fit newborns, by the way) to ones which are just like a disposable except you chuck them in the washing machine and not the bin.

Roselau · 16/11/2013 18:04

nom I did a bit of research, and I think i will get this starter kit: www.amazon.com/Bummis-Organic-Cotton-Diaper-Pounds/dp/B000QGXWGM/ref=br_it_dp_o_S_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=3QIAMI2NUTBUA&coliid=I3267MDMLNFJ8

and then I will go from there. probably complement with a few all-in-ones, etc. that's the good thing about having all this time on my hands, i was able to do a bit of research. but it's a bit overwhelming all the options, so i figured I'll need to start somewhere and then see how it goes. also from what i read, what works on one baby doesn't necessarily work on another (including disposables...)

NomDeClavier · 16/11/2013 18:12

'What works on one baby doesn't necessarily work on another" - so true! And not just for nappies!

Most people have a mix tbh. All in ones are handy to have when out and about, or pockets which are easier to dry, but IME 2 parters are more reliable especially overnight. There might be schemes locally where you can borrow different makes to try (a nappy library!) if you're not squeamish about second hand. Personally I don't have a problem with it because I just strip wash them when I buy anyway! Also I figure it saves the planet and DD is having DS's cloth, and any subsequent children will be having them too.

kchapper5 · 16/11/2013 18:29

Ahh i spend one afternoon at the horse and it all kicks off. As we are talking about ponies and puppies! i have a 16hh 6yr old warmblood mare who is the most mareish mare ever. and a rescue dog who is a Labrador x German shepherd and who we guess to be abut 6 also.

Feather i hope it all slows down, baby calms down, you get your trace and get home.
Whisper ring the mw!!
clare fingers crossed things speed up and your not too bored in hospital.
bohemian have you got it sorted yet??
liz not sure about you but i think my bumps dropped so getting hip and lower back twinges but much easier breathing :)

beth Godo luck for your DP's Interviews
I think thats everyone. :)

Stom91 · 16/11/2013 18:53

Gosh this moves fast !
does not have really bad period like pain in my back and tummy
I am totally exhausted I keep trying to drift off but everything hurts. Dp going to give me a massage later so hope it helps.

It's so annoying having constant back ache co so can't tell if it's my normal pains or if it's baby related!

Dd must have tried to turn or something earlier she pushed really hard against my rib and the pain was awful ! Dp thought I was having a contraction lol

Hope all those feeling rough are better soon
Thinking of you clare
whisper call the mw!
feather hope things slow down for you.
rose very jealous of those pancakes! lol

Aww puppies and ponies.

Shetlands are either sinners or saints nom. And it's hard work in the winter. We have 2 welsh section a ponies for dd. Both white grey so hard work in the mud! I give them December and January off work normally but we did our last show mid september and that was that this year.

I'm lucky because they are looked after by my sister so only have to go if I fancy it. And dd is old enough now to do most things herself.

Puppy wise we have a 2 year old whippet who is either adorable or a pest. She is lovely and warm curled up on you though and keeps me company in the day when everyone else is out.

Terrible restless legs tonight for some reason. Bugging me just sat on sofa.

AngryByrd · 16/11/2013 18:56

I want to go into labour.

it wont be happening for me though. :(

itsliz · 16/11/2013 19:02

kchapper5 I think I'm the same as you - not sure my bump has dropped completely but he's definitely shifted as I'm feeling a lot more pressure lower down and all of my aches and pains are in my hips and lower back.
I'm finding it easier to breathe but still get bit puffed out after walking (or after any sort of physical activity really!)

It's so frustrating that nothing is clear cut when it comes to pregnancy symptoms... I just want to know what's going on!

Alyssa1978 · 16/11/2013 19:03

feather you had me all worried about the pruning thing I just got dp to sort mine out Blush

I'm still all crampy but very irregular, slightly more painful but nothing to get excited about either. I'm just putting them down to BH and I'm going to stop even paying attention to them as its getting very mentally draining now always thinking this is it

clare I hope you're speeding up a bit Hun.
whisper when you wake up, if the pain is still there please phone the midwife.

Chelsealady · 16/11/2013 19:17

Well its all going off now! Its as if this thread has put a curse over all of us and were all going to have a baby before December!!!

Alyssa1978 · 16/11/2013 19:21

Would be nice chelsea but I've got a feeling ill still bd here waiting for an induction date Confused

PistachioTruffle · 16/11/2013 19:26

Yep, me too Alyssa, I have a feeling this baby will have to be forcibly evicted before he makes an appearance!

Chelsealady · 16/11/2013 19:39

pistachio Alyssa what makes you think this? I never felt the baby engage or have any pain and then found out i was 2cm with a low stretchy cervix and babys head was low too...i think everyone is different and you may just go into labour when you least expect it!

Roselau · 16/11/2013 19:40

same for me alyssa and pistachio

It may sound extremely selfish, but I would love it if she comes in 2013 because it makes a big difference on our tax bracket here in the US...

but hey, I'd rather nature do her thing, so hopefully LO will be cooperative and punctual like her mama but I'm not going to force her if she wants to stay in a little longer and everything is looking fine. although the thought of another 7 weeks makes me cringe tbh (5 weeks to get me to 40 weeks, +2 weeks until they will force her out).

WhisperMen · 16/11/2013 19:41

had what I presume is a show and still having cramps so rang the ward and have just got here. going to be monitored. I'm properly freaking out. Stupid cursed thread! I can't have a baby yet, I haven't seen the new hunger games movie or the doctor who 50th anniversary special!

Chelsealady · 16/11/2013 19:55

Whisper you are funny! Good luck it may just be a false alarm i think we get all sorts of changes in the last trimester...im quit glad they managed to stop my labour as it was only until i got home i realised just how unorganised i am...oops!

mumoftwoboysS · 16/11/2013 20:00

Me too- I'm convinced because I really want baby out before Xmas he/she will do their damnedest to stay put till after 25th!

PistachioTruffle · 16/11/2013 20:02

Omg Whisper, that's both exciting and scary! How many weeks are you? It's that naughty Stom and her jinxy thread title!

Chelsea, I'm not really sure why I feel like he'll be late, I've just had a feeling all the way through that he would be. My original due date was a bit later and then moved forward, so I'm not sure if that's why?

I don't mind if he's a little bit late to be honest, as I still feel like I've got quite a bit to organise before I'm ready, I'd just rather he wasn't too late and verging on Christmas! The other thing is I'm so convinced he won't arrive til after his due date that if I went into labour earlier I'll be really unprepared!

WhisperMen · 16/11/2013 20:10

im 35+2. my blood pressure is up. ugh I don't want a baby yet! nor do I particularly want someone sticking their hand up my fanjo. Least the ward is quiet so I can't hear women mooing like last time...Grin

abcdemma · 16/11/2013 20:12

Whisper I totally get what you mean, my biggest worry is when I'm going to be able to see the Hobbit Blush
