I am bouncing away on my exercise ball and I just got a sharp stab in the foof. it was so painful it made me jump and fall off the bloody ball. I smashed my favourite mug. dp says I am irrationally upset about this but life wont be the same without my mug. The other mugs are rubbish!

ccsays · 22/11/2013 11:14

Morning all!

I did a google image search for 'mucous plug' and now I want to have a wee cry, eeeeeeew.

MrsShrubs I was planning on wearing a loose-ish fitting vest top if I can get a birth pool. Who knows, maybe I'll end up in-the-buff, primal screaming by the end of it but the plan was to maintain a bit of modesty Grin

Has anyone else ordered a Snuz Pod? I ordered mine way back in early Ocotber. The delivery was meant to be October 31st, then it was delayed till November 22nd (delayed shipping because of bad weather in China apparently). Looked at the website and it now says pre order for delivery December 6th!

Phoned the company fully prepared to be all "this is unacceptable and I want to cancel my order, grr!" They apologised profusely, said the order was getting held up at customs and they were working their way through a back log of customers and that what they would do is send me out a Moses basket to cover me until the baby arrives and if they did arrive before the snuz pod came they would still take the Moses basket back free of charge, even if I had used it. Also if I decided in the end that I didn't want the snuz pod any more but wanted the basket, they would only charge me half price for it. Fairly took the wind out of my angry sails: "RIGHT...WELL...that actually sounds very reasonable, thank you for all your help"

So woo, free (unless I want to keep it) Moses basket!

MrsShrubs · 22/11/2013 11:17

Haha ccsays have a complete Mother Earth moment in the pool!! I've shoved a really baggy top in the bag, thought only occurred to me this morning! That's great news about the Moses basket too, fingers crossed they're as good as they sound and it gets to you quickly!

WhisperMen · 22/11/2013 11:23

my mw said wearing a baggy tshirt in the pool isn't advisable as it's makes you cold and gets heavy. best idea is a bikini or tankini top or a vest top apparently

Alyssa1978 · 22/11/2013 11:24

whisper definately ok to be resentful, while I was waiting for my mw appt yesterday all the new babies were waiting to go into their appt and my dp had to tell me to pack it in as every time a new mum was looking at me I was getting all arsey with dp how they were just rubbing it in as they had already had theirs Confused think I actually believed it at the time lol
This last month has been the worst but I remember it dragging last time too.

Welcome missratty is this pg1?

NomDeClavier · 22/11/2013 11:29

whisper I'm inwardly seething too. Grrrr. Bloody people having babies before me ignoring the fact they've been pregnant longer

cc I have the same drama with the snuzpod. I've now said that it can ship to my parents and they'll bring it over after Christmas. I have a pram that's ok for overnight sleeping and chances are we'll co-sleep anyway! I'll just have to shove DH out onto the sofa end or a mattress in DS's room.

Alyssa1978 · 22/11/2013 11:32

Lol sorry hunnies just the word modesty is making me think back to when I had some Confused I'm not having a water birth but I'd just go in the buff in the end if I was as all modesty during birth is safely checked at the door on the way in lol.

whisper I am so so sorry but that made me lol I now have an image of you falling off your gym ball and its making me reluctant to get on mine lol. I feel you on the mug, I'd cry if my i love mum mug from ds1 on my first ever Mother's Day got broke all my other mugs are shit too Grin

ccsays that was nice of them, I've only got Moses baskets, not sure what a snuz pod is Hmm you've got me all wanting to google mucous plug now lol

Alyssa1978 · 22/11/2013 11:37

Noooooooooooooooo ccsays why oh why did you make me do it??
Lol Grin
Ugh I know I've been loosing my own but why would anyone take a picture so I had to see some other people's.... I'm in a be sick.
Smile

13loki · 22/11/2013 11:47

popped into work today. Yes, I am still pregnant. Yes, I'm huge. Yes, MrLoki may have told everyone I was having lots of braxton hicks, but that really means fuck all, doesn't it!

Still, I got free lunch. Unfortunately, I was only in to take DS to dentist, but I got the day wrong Blush

ccsays · 22/11/2013 12:00

alyssa yeah, 'horrifying vagina sneeze' would be a much better descriptor.

The snuzpod is basically just a co-sleeper crib. It's got three sides plus one that's a zip up panel. I was going to rent the NCT crib, but ideally I'd like to have two sprogs, so the cost would work out the same and I can sell it afterwards.

extracrunchy · 22/11/2013 12:03

Hi missratty!

MrsShrubs I was recommended a bikini with tie sides (easy to whip off!) in a dark colour and/or a dark coloured fairly close fitting vest top - nothing baggy as gets cold and heavy.

PistachioTruffle · 22/11/2013 12:15

Hi MissRatty!

Today is my last day before maternity leave, Hooray!

Whisper I would be very upset about the mug too. I have one particular mug that is my favourite, which I will actively seek out and wash to use even if it's dirty. There's nothing special about it really to anyone else, it's just the perfect size/weight/thickness for me. I'd be seriously huffed if I broke it.
I've got a gym ball too, DP is seriously nervy about me using it though as apparently he once sat on one that burst. Every time I get on it I can feel him watching me nervously from the corner of his eye and it makes me nervous and not want to sit on it either!
Good point about the pool wear, I was going to wear a bikini top but actually i'll have to dig one out and check it still fits, as I've grown somewhat since last time I wore it! I might go for a cheapy primark crop top thing if not.

Alyssa, I hope this baby makes an appearance soon, I'm rooting for it to make an appearance too as you just sound so fed up bless you!

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 22/11/2013 12:29

I Need a gym ball, where'd you all get yours?!

abcdemma · 22/11/2013 12:35

For birth pool I've just bought a bikini top, might take an extra top yet but not sure. Normally I wouldn't be seen dead in a bikini but hoping that I won't care too much at that time Blush
No sign of bambino moving any time soon so am awaiting delivery of a gym ball this morning... bring it on!!

abcdemma · 22/11/2013 12:35

UpThe Amazon, £6 Smile

13loki · 22/11/2013 12:36

when in the UK I got this argos one

beth27123 · 22/11/2013 12:57

Upthe I got mine from Argos :) x

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 22/11/2013 13:04

THanks guys

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 22/11/2013 13:06

The sizes are confusing me... Would 55cm one be big enough?

mumoftwoboysS · 22/11/2013 13:08

Think I'm going to have to join the insomniacs here- I usually sleep well but this morning I was awake de 4.30 feelif uncomfortable and baby was wriggling around so much!

Now I feel sick Sad really hoping it's not a horrid bug. Ds2 just pooed in his pants which he's never done so not sure if he has a dodgy tum- I was saying omg over and over (it was so bad had to shower him) and he was saying omg!

I feel soooo tired, bugger it- do NOT want to be ill....

Bikini top def sounds like the way to go for the birthing pool. May chuck one in my hospital bag tho I'm not feeling hopefull- with ds1 the pool was occupied when I turned up, with ds2 I didn't have time!

Feeling like it's dragging too- 36 weeks on Sunday for me! But since I've never gone overdue I'm optimistic that I have 4 weeks max to go!

PistachioTruffle · 22/11/2013 13:14

UpThe, the instructions on the 55cm one says its suitable for people up to 5'4", I'm not very tall so it works for me!

UpTheFRIGGinDuff · 22/11/2013 13:18

Ah,thanks,I'm 5'7 so maybe 65cm would work better.
I'm going to go and get one this afternoon...I have to get TWO birthday presents for 5 yr old girls as DD has TWO parties to attend this weekend Shock so I may as well get it at the same time.

I swear all the bouncing sent me into labour last time nothing to do with the sweep I'd just had

MissRatty · 22/11/2013 13:49

Thanks for the welcomes! It is pg1, and this is the first week of my maternity leave...which at first I was glad of, as I have bad SPD and am on crutches (feels like I've been shot on the pubic bone!). But now I'm getting fed up of laying on the sofa watching tv (and habe run out of maltesers!).

I have started to get quite bad period like cramps, but they are very irregular and the actual pain is dull and achy with no peak...just like normal period cramp really. I was hoping things woukd be moving along but alas no...plus I'm getting a sharp pain under my rib where I think I'm being used as a martial arts training target for little one!

How is everyone else getting along!? X

MollySJ · 22/11/2013 13:59

Last time I wore one of those really soft crossover sleep bras from mothercare in the pool. Like a crop top but easy to whip out a boob for first feed of needed!
