if you feel you would like to talk more about cerebral palsy then please contact me but otherwise enjoy your pregnancy and enjoy your baby.

Morning ladies

I can't believe how insensitive people can be what a ridiculous comment to make

Sunita- My legs are HUGE as are my ankles and feet and yes it makes it difficult and uncomfortable to walk. Cold water feels nice (I've been using a foot spa) but the only thing that makes a difference is to elevate them. My m/w said elevate until they are higher than your bump and this makes a huge difference but if your anything like me you get bored silly after half an hour!!! I tend to do a bit and then rest them up. I keep meaning to ask her if this goes straight after birth but I keep forgetting.

Any news Puddy and FirstatForty?? Had ridiculous amounts of Chinese food last night and...........NOTHING!!

Have a lovely day everyone x

CONGRATS TWIRL AND NIXNOO! Great news well done!

Whoever said "congrats on reaching the other side" it really does feel like that doesn't it? Here we are still waddling around in hugely pregnant states and loads of us have popped and are totally buried in the new baby world. And although this sounds funny when you think of the assaults pregnancy places on your body, we are still relatively unscathed in terms of leakage, then all of a sudden we're going to have leaking from every orifice! Gawd.

DH has taken DS to Tescos to give me a break and waid he's going to take him swimming later! Fabulous. He doesn't know I know, but my wonderful MIL phoned him up this week and told him off for buggering off fishing, and not helping me more with DS, and it seems to have worked wonders, he even hung out a load of washing the other night - "you sit down I'll do that"!!! I love my MIL. Mind you she ain't living with me like some of you seem to have right now, THAT would do my head in, the phone calls are bad enough...

Right sneaking back to bed while the boys are out, good luck everybody, those who've popped and those who've not!

hi girls. Hope you are all well. I'm back into hospital today as have had bad stomach pains and backache since 6 this morning.
They asked me if i thought i was in labour, i said no, but think i may have a uti.
So going in just to get checked. Will keep you updated.
Take care all

Congratulations Twirl and anyone else who's popped since I last said congrats!! (Getting hard to keep up now!)

Clara - can't believe how bloody insensitive some people can be!! My DD was born with her arm by her face and she's cp-free - try not to worry (save your energy for bopping one on people who say stupid things like that!!)

HC - keep going girl! You've done brilliantly to keep things up this far and it sounds like you're doing sooooo much, so don't know where the 'can't get anything done' comment comes from! You've got the rest of your and Sophie's life to get stuff done hon, so bear with it if you can - it does get easier, and she will ease off a bit (promise!!) xxx

jom · 08/07/2006 12:51

Congratulations Twirl and Nixnoo!!

Have been elevating my feet to try and help with the swelling - doesn't seem to do too much but does make them slightly more comfortable. I probably don't raise them above my bump though - must try that! Cool foot bath is nice too. Had a pedicure (heaven) on Wednesday and the woman who did it said they were very hot.

PILs have just taken DS out for the afternoon so think I'll make the most and go and have a sleep as haven't slept well for the past four nights and feel knackered.

Had a hot curry last night and apart from quite a bit of activity from LO - nothing. Both DH and I were too tired to get up to too much else - but must keep trying. Take care all and I hope some of you are having twinges or more!!

janeOT · 08/07/2006 15:42

CONGRATULATIONS to all the new mummies! There coming in droves now eh!!

Havent been on 4 ages as I'm knackered n things but they've finally started to reduce my BP medication from pre-eclampsia and I;m starting to feel loads better!

HC Im having the same leaky problem I think ive got too much milk so I've been expressing and for some reason have found the johnsons pads the best, the breast shell things are good but i wouldnt go out in them!!

Anyhow catch up properly soon.......hopefully
Good luck to all who are patiently waiting!

Hello girls

Gosh, a break in between Sophie being permanently attached. Thanks for all your BF tips. Gave in and gave her some SMA this morning as DD1 keeps asking me to play with her but you can't whilst feeding. Managing to express a bit more in an evening but it doesn't fill her the same as SMA. Feel really guilty that I am a bad mother for neglecting DD1.

koshka-don't feel bad about going back to the bottle. I really know what you mean about the babies being hungry all the time. My midwives don't seem to mind about bottle feeding and they said to do what is right for me. Am going to give it a little longer and if I don't build up the milk I will just bottle feed SMA.

Hope all the bumps are OK and all the new mummies too.

jane-went to Tescos for washable Avent but they only had disposable so bought some of those to be getting on with. Not leaked since so think I have a limited milk supply-can you send some virtual milk-lol!

Clara-ignore the stupid woman. Some people don't know when to keep their mouth shut!

Bloss-make sure DH keeps it up. After Sophie was born DH made me meals for..........................2 days and then gave up.

lilanna-hope everything is OK with you.

kayzed-I passed a huge clot in the maternity home about 2 hours after the birth-I never got chance to mention it to the midwives as we were abandoned after I had my bath. It felt like I was giving birth to a mouse or something when I went for a wee and I saw it in the bottom of the toilet. Hardly any bleeding since, not at all like last time. Still wearing pads but not maternity ones though.

Right, going online to find a keepsake box as didn't get given one this time.

Love to all

Hi all
Just a quick one to report - nothing happening!!
Been out to buy clary sage oil today on the recommendation of my breast shell wearing friend who said it worked for her. Not convinced really - seems just another to add to the current arsenal of jasmine, lavender, rlt, arnica... Having another sweep tomorrow morning. Read my notes and it seems I didn't have a proper sweep last time due to unreachable posterior cervix, apparently my cervix was 'walked' though !!
Good luck to everybody, hang in there

HumphreysCorner · 08/07/2006 23:08

kayzed-sorry to keep going on about BF girls-will try and find the BF threads Sophie is sucking for 10 mins then falls asleep so I lay her down. 2 mins later she wakes and sucks for another 10 mins and this continues for approx 3 hours until I give up and feed her SMA. I decided to express so I could give her 3 oz which she would take quite quickly rather than over 3 hours but whereas 3 oz of SMA would fill her 3 oz of my milk doesn't so need to express more. Also wanted to feed her my milk in the night but can't face sitting up feeding all night so thought putting it in bottles would be better, she is having SMA at night at the moment. But there is no way I can express that much as the milk just doesn't come out very quick. Have broken the expressor though so going to try and return it saying it is faulty

Night night

Kayzed what a gorgeous daughter you have congrats hun
(i was originally on this thread...) xxxx

pinkdolly · 09/07/2006 04:47

hiya,

have been awake since 3.45 due to being soo uncomfy again.

Kayzed, what a beautiful little girls, she is soo scrummy and I am soo. I cant wait to meet my LO and see what she looks like. My patience is running on the low side. I feel like all i'm doing lately is waiting for Lo to arrive.

Getting up at this time in the morning doesn't help, as time seems to go so slow when there's nothing to do, and everyone else is asleep.

Well, good luck to everyone. bye for now.

puddytat99 · 09/07/2006 05:38

Hi Everyone

Clara - Ignore people like that, what a horrible thing to say My friend yesterday told me her friend had her baby and they came out both hands first (watch out Superman) and they are just fine.

KZ - What a cutie pie She's so gorgeous!!!!

Well no news here, though had a huge scare yesterday as I had a fall. As I step up into the house, my right leg shot out in front of me and I went straight down into the splits (sideways on) over the door step (didn't realise I was that flexible). Luckily DH was home and after he nearly fell downstairs to get to me, got me back up. After a few hours, realised hadn't felt baby move, so had a check up and everything is ok. Had a warm bath and after that, they wouldn't keep still

Am aching like crazy this morning in legs and back, so much so that I can't sleep. DH treated us all to a huge Chinese last night, so fingers crossed that might do the trick.

Sorry about long post. Those that have made it to the other side, keep up the good work, you all sound like wonderful mummies. And for those of us still to get there, hold on.

Due date today, no twinges or anything, well done to all new mums, also very Had a crap night sleep, never imagined I'd go this long, DD was born at 38wks! Really starting to hate being pg now, oh well, I know its all worth it in the end, whenever that may be.

Wallace · 09/07/2006 09:14

kayzed she is so beautiful

Commiserations to all those who have gone past their due date - I've still got more than 2 weeks to go and the waiting is awful!

nixnoo · 09/07/2006 09:24

hi ladies,

Sefton and I are doing well, I am perfecting the art of one handed typing!
His name means "settlement in the rushes" but we just chose it because we liked the sound of it.

He came a bit early (could be all the pineapple?), but I think your body knows when enough is enough. I had been very mobile throughout the pregnancy, but that last week was just too painful to walk. So what with that and getting comments from strangers (are you expecting twins?) I had decided to be house bound until LO arrived. which started the next day.
So hang in there, girls, at least you were not in the hospital over the heatwave: it was hell on toast!

this BF thing is tough! gonna catch up on some tips now, need all the help I can get!!!

Keep em coming, girls
