Big congratulations to Jersey, Straightforward, Jeanie, Sunita, Jom and now Wallace!! Hope I haven't forgotten anyone, need to catch up properly on posts but it's been mad busy with relatives and other visitors this last week, and still they come - aaaaargh!
UsAndBump - yes, was a bit of a dramatic birth and not what I expected (though I didn't really know what I expected!) , but the main thing is she's fine now. Stiches / piles are giving me gyp at the moment, not sure exactly which! Feels stretched, uncomfortable and pressured 'down there' - was fine to begin with but my industrial strength painkillers have run out now so maybe that's why!
Birth story - Emma was distressed in 2nd stage labour as her umbilical cord was wrapped round her neck 5 times hence the need for ventouse to get her out quickly. Thankfully she was okay, the crash team was called and gave her oxygen but she didn't need rescusitating. The doctor said she had never seen an umbilical cord wrapped that many times before, it was abnormally long apparently... It was all a bit like watching a film due to my (much appreciated) anasthetic of gas and air and pethidine, so I didn't actually find it that distressing myself at the time. DH had a bit of a hard time with it though, being 'sober' !!
Entropy - that denial thing sounds very familiar - I just couldn't associate the bump with an actual baby and would not have been surprised if I had given birth to kittens or something - or found out that it was just an extreme case of beri beri! Still doesn't seem possible when Emma's lying on my lap that she fitted 'inside' just 10 days ago!
Sending lots of labour vibes to those still waiting !!!
