hiya guys !

a week today for me - fingers crossed it's no longer ! for the past few days have been having backache and strong bh that are quite regular for a few hours then......nothing - it's so annoying!
old hospital thought baby was about 4lb but new one seem to think more like 5lb. have another scan on thurs to check the growth.
we don't know what we're having, although i'm dying to find out....everyone thinks it's a boy tho.

jersey · 24/07/2006 14:07

Hi everyone congrats to the new babies, Matthew doing well, my stitches very painful and sus infection so on stronger painkillers and antibiotics! At last I can sit . DS bit jealous and crying at any slightest thing but hoping he will get past this soon.

Goodluck to those waiting.

sorry that didn't work. I'll try again in a bit

Wallace · 24/07/2006 16:00

Welcome to chelsea. Got the urge to clean the sitting room this morning and it is now spotless - poor kids are getting nagged to keep it tidy. Quite relieved I'm not havinga home birth as I hate the thought of having to have it spotless for the midwives (not that they'd care, but I would IYSWIM!)

Very crampy at the moment with some painful BH. Starting to think it can't be that much longer!

usandbump · 24/07/2006 16:25

Hi all

Hope you are all bearing up, have been thinking of you all in this heat

Congrats to Jersey, Straightforward and Jeanie

Thinking of you today Madness- can't wait to hear you news

Welcome Chelsea

Zack is doing well, 8 days old now. Weighed 7lb 9oz at birth and yesterday was 7lb 12oz

FirstatForty- Congratulations!! What a coincidence!!! Not the way we would have planned it but hey ho the important thing is they arrived safe and sound How are your stitches? Mine aren't too bad but just as I think they are easing a little they seem to worsen, more uncmofortable than painful though.

Sending positive labour vibes to you all

agalch · 25/07/2006 07:33

Morning wallace

I hope you are at least well on your way if not acutally holding your new baby.

((((hugs))))

HumphreysCorner · 25/07/2006 08:48

Wallace-how exciting!

((xx))

kbaby · 25/07/2006 09:57

Wallace- Hope the lack of threads means that your somewhere holding your beautiful baby.

Ive been getting backache and more frequent bh's for days now but still no sign. Its my dads birthday on Monday and hes hoping ill have the baby then so half of me would like that even if it does mean id be 4 days late. I have the pineapple in the fridge ready anyway. Ive tried to convince DH on the sex front but he says he cant face it and its not appealing!! Although I did have a really sexual dream last night so maybe I tried to jump him in my sleep.

We cant decide on names, if its a girl I quite like Lily or Pheobe and for boys Jack or James.
Ill wait and see what name it looks like.

Fingers crossed for us for today.
I wish this heat would go away.

chelseaxxx · 25/07/2006 10:43

Positive vibes to Wallace

I'm still here too - this morning's exciting activity was a walk down to the shops through the park before it got too hot. Then had to have an ice lolly and a nap to recover

Also, I had stated to DH ages ago that I wanted finest chocolates and champagne after the birth. This morning an ENORMOUS box of handcrafted chocs arrived (ordered online) and he assures me that he's working on the fizz. Only prob is they are now in the fridge tempting me, but apparently I have to give birth first!

My mum is arriving this evening, she's staying for the duration. Spoke to my parents yesterday and my dad asked that I made sure that the babe made its appearance on Weds/Thurs, so that he and my brothers could come and visit at the weekend said I would see what I could do.

sunita123 · 25/07/2006 15:08

Hi ladies,
Congrats to all who have had LO's. Will catch up on posts later.

Started having contractions on Friday 21. Rang DH at work. Told him that they were 20mins apart. DH was promptly sent home by collegues. Only to arrive home to find they had fizzled out into nothing!!! So embarressed. Any way he stayed at home for the rest of the day.
Saturday morning woke up at 4.00am with a contraction. Had the next at 5.00 and so on. Was thinking that this is yet another false alarm but should still get it checked. Midwife arrived at 11.00am to check me over....
9cms dilalated!!!! Too late to transfer to Hospital, So had home delivery instead (planned).
Kavya Patel was born on Saturday 22 July at 12.10. 7lbs 13oz. birthweight. She's absolutely adoreable.

It was much better than I had originally thought. MIL looked after DS1 who was downstairs all the time! He's thrilled to bits.

Will post again later.

IamBlossom · 25/07/2006 18:45

Brilliant news Sunita, well done you! Congratulations!

Maewest, chocs and fizz sound divine, but I know for a fact that if there were a box of THAT kind of chocolates in my fridge right now they would be history - fact! Very restrained of you!

jom · 25/07/2006 22:25

Hi ladies, its good to be back after a week or so off. Haven't had a chance to catch up on all the messages and who's had what and who's still waiting but well done to everyone anyway for surviving in the heat

Well as you know I went in to be induced on Monday 17th but they were really busy in the labour ward so ended up waiting 12 hours without anything being done and when they finally came around to give me the gel I had gone into labour anyway. I was 2cm dilated and they broke my waters to help me along. It took me around 6 hours to be fully dilated (gas and air) and then after about 2.5 hours of pushing they had to give me an episiotomy and use the ventouse to get the baby out. She had the cord wrapped around her neck twice and everytime I pushed she was being pulled back. Poor thing. Anyway very happy that I got to do the whole VBAC thing.

Amelia Grace born 18/7/06 06.37 7lb 6oz. And she's gorgeous!!!

She spent the first day in special care due to breathing difficulties but was soon back on the ward with me. She had antibiotics for 24 hrs as a precaution so we ended up being in there five long, hot days in total. Great to now be home with our precious little girl! (Was convinced I was having a boy!)

Hey Jom congrats and what a lovely name!!
Glad your lo arrived safely. xx

Well it seems a little cooler here today but i'm not holding my breath.I'm sure it's just waiting to heat up again.Taking dd to park in half an hour before it gets warmer anyway.

Had another reflexology last night but still nothingnot a show or even a twinge.I have so enjoyed my pg but i am starting to get fed up.I would hate to be whipped in to be induced after all my planning for having a homebirth.

Mw should be visiting me at home tomorrow and will do a sweep hopefully.Have been eating enough pineapple to never want to eat it again. So what else can i do?

Anyway gotta get going soon so take care all you mummies and mums to be.

xx

Congratulations Jom and sinita.

Amelia is a fab name its what my DD is called.

Nothing happening here either. Only 2 days to EDD. I have the mw this afternoon. I also ate a pineapple last night to see if it would start anything.
I found some stretchmarks yesterday. I thought I had got away without any but yesterday I had a shower and lifted my bump up looked in the mirror and found where they'd been hiding, im gutted.
Those chocs would def been gone maewest. I cant be bothered to eat proper meals at the moment so im just spending my day grazing on rubbish.
