Joyful isn't it. I am so sniffly I get such death glares from commuters!

GillyBillyWilly · 24/10/2013 08:56

I have to take my pot of pee back go the doctors today and also having a flu jab.... But I can't get out of bed!!!!!!!

spinningirl10 · 24/10/2013 08:56

I'm really hoping I don't put on weight too early!! I was huge with both of my others.....I always envy women who just have a neat bump and from the back they don't look pregnant!!

Also I don't want to tell anyone until the new year when I'll be about 14 weeks!!!! Not sure I'm going to be able to get away with that one!

LondonSuperTrooper · 24/10/2013 09:01

Hey all and welcome to the new joiners.

Jaykay I'm thinking of joining slimming world to avoid putting too much weight on - well here's hoping anyway. I've already got the books from last time so might try it on my way till I can stay up past 7.30pm! Please can you tell which changes did you have to include to allow for being pregnant?

I've already gone up 1 bra size to 36H! I've bough maternity trousers but they are a little bit too big. I'll take the advice offered further up the thread ( sorry can't remember who mentioned it and it's a pain scrolling up on my phone) and buy a bigger pair if trousers.

Ahhhh Pregn-cold.... my team is really having a go at me and telling me I should go to the doctors! I don't think any of them know about this symptom but as I have had it for the last three weeks I have had to say its allergies and do some research. Apparently this time of year the following can cause hay fever. So far its managed to have everyone convinced!

September: Nettle - pollen is released in a puff of smoke.

October: "House dust mite" - the faecal pellet is the allergen and they are present all year but are at their peak when indoor humidity is highest.

November: Oyster Mushroom - forms clusters on trunks of broad-leafed trees, especially beech.

December: Norway Spruce - traditional Christmas tree. Pinewood contains a respiratory irritant called abietic acid.

One of my staff just resigned. We have reasonably high turnover so it's not that rare an occurrence. Normally I have a quiet chat with them before announcing to the team. I just started crying during the 'quiet chat'... have never done that before! He's good but it's not like my life is over now that we have to part :)

Mitchell2 · 24/10/2013 10:52

LondonST - your H's make me feel better. I have gone up to a 32-34E and am are fearful for what is in store! My husband LOVES it (I was a 32DD anyway) but when they hurt like they do they are no fun for anyone.

LadyGoneGaga · 24/10/2013 11:00

Haha, Sarah. I am emotional too.

I've booked a private scan for 7 weeks as feel I need the reassurance. Was umming and ah-ing about it due to the money but I've found a place not too far away that does that for 50 quid which I think is reasonable. So only 2 and a bit weeks to wait.

I need to have a sort through all my maternity and nursing bras. It's like a crazy jumble bag of various sizes! I'm normally a 30C but went up to 36H last time!

ohcluttergotme · 24/10/2013 11:07

Morning, went to EPU this morning as been getting a lot of pain in my left side. Went to drop cheeky chappy at nursery but he refused to go so took him with me.
Really nice foreign nurse said they would take my bloods and if hcg below a certain amount then it would be a vaginal scan or if above then ultrasound scan (everything crossed my levels are above!)
She's going to phone this afternoon to let me know...so now I wait!
She did ask how my bowels were doing and said pain on left could be constipation.
Here's me all worried and maybe I just need a big poo ! (TMI sorry)
Actually slept last night from 8pm to 4:45am, it's amazing how much better you sleep when your not working in the morning! Smile

Pencilsandprams · 24/10/2013 11:13

Hello! Can I join please? I am 5 weeks today so should be due 26th June I think. I'm 28 (dh 30) and this is number 2 for us (dd is 13 months old).

Stacks · 24/10/2013 11:18

I went from a 32 B/C to a 28 GG cup, which is just ridiculous. I'm still there as still bf DS. I hope they don't just grow even more!

Clutter, rely hope your hcg levels are high, but the dildo-cam isn't too bad. Way smaller and less uncomfortable than a smear. Also, we're all going to have to get used to having no privacy by the time these babies are due to arrive ;)

samovar · 24/10/2013 11:25

Clutter - my dr told me my scan at 8 weeks would be transvaginal, and i said PLEASE let me have the normal u/s (I think i am particularly sensitive down there, as I find smear tests unbearably painful), and he agreed, but told me to go with a full bladder. I remember with my first I had a normal u/s at 6 weeks, and didn't go with a full bladder, and it was fine.

MTMD · 24/10/2013 11:31

Vaginal scan really doesn't hurt! But I don't think I'll ever be able to have one without th

MTMD · 24/10/2013 11:32

Aaaah, sorry!
..without thinking dildocam :D

GillyBillyWilly · 24/10/2013 11:47

I've had my flu jab!!!!
If you haven't had it already then please go and get it! It's quick and painless Smile

wispaxmas · 24/10/2013 12:48

I've got pregnancy rhinitis as well, the dreaded pregnacold!

Scan tomorrow and I'm ridiculously excited, hopefully my dates are kept at around 8+3, or my nuchal scan might end up being too early, as it's scheduled for 11+3! Will also be having a crown in in the morning and viewing the potential dream home in the evening; big day! Grin

Welcome to the newbies, too, I thought we'd have slowed down now, what with the July thread having been started, but nice to see June is such a big month Cake

Thanks for reassurance ladies, my hcg levels high enough so got ultrasound scan booked for 2pm.
Now the challenging part...need to go in with full bladder!

jaykay987 · 24/10/2013 13:18

good luck for 2pm clutter!

I have the dreaded pregnacold too.
DH commented on it last night I said don't worry you won't catch it! (which is his normal concern) but instead he was just worried about me! Agggh! Smile
wispa ready for your appointment tomorrow?

MrsB2013 · 24/10/2013 13:44

Do you have to have the flu jab when pregnant? I really don't want one!

Mitchell2 · 24/10/2013 13:47

MrsB I'm on the fence too. I have declined so far, I know its in theory a good idea but want to wait until after the first trimester until making a decision.

spinningirl10 · 24/10/2013 13:52

Good luck this afternoon Clutter

Enjoy tomorrow Wispa what an exciting day!

LondonSuperTrooper · 24/10/2013 13:54

I'm not planning to have the flu jab just yet.

LondonSuperTrooper · 24/10/2013 13:55

Good luck with your scan Wispa

LadyGoneGaga · 24/10/2013 14:06

Good luck with scans, Wispa and Clutter.

Snowlet · 24/10/2013 14:06

Yeesh!! so much to read and try to catch up on....

Welcome to yet more new BFPs! Are we going to break some sort of bus record at this rate?

MrsB it's a personal decision but I'm definitely not having a flu jab, I've never had one in my life and unless it's CRUCIAL I don't plan on injecting anything into me that isn't normally there. I struggled the few times in my life I've taken normal painkillers like paracetamol, I hate it all, and I've rarely been ill so basically am going to keep doing what I'm doing!

Does anyone know.... when the midwife takes bloods, will they test your HCG level as standard? I'd really like to know what mine is!
