OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
bludgerwitch · 22/10/2013 16:28

I have about 10 cheapies left, as well as a huge bag of OPKs - I'll probably pass them on down the line, I'm too afraid of jinxing myself to do it now.

ohcluttergotme · 22/10/2013 18:15

That was a long day at work as been awake since just after 4am Hmm
Think all newly pregnant mums should get the first 2 months off work off.
Liquid, east coast, what about you? Smile

cheesysmile · 22/10/2013 18:25

Nice to hear about good scan results, must be so exciting to see that heartbeat Smile

Ive got my booking in appt on Thursday, really looking forward to it as feel like thats the start iykwim. Really hoping I'll then get my scan date as well so will have a date to count down to! Hoping that will stop me booking a private scan before, but we shall see.

Sorry to those feeling really sick, must be horrid. I just tend to get that queasy feeling if I haven't eaten for about an hour! I swear I just spend my day eating, so hungry all the time, gonna be the size of a house! Also really tired today, was ok yesterday, seems to all come and go a bit.

Liquidambar · 22/10/2013 18:51

I am also so tired! After lunch time I almost considered coming home.

My mum was telling me that the only pregnancy symptom she had with me was feeling sleepy. She would lock herself in the bathroom at work and would have a 10 minute nap :)
I could try to work from home, but I am not sure how much work I can do Hmm

Ohclutter I am in the east as well - Edinburgh.

MarlenaGru · 22/10/2013 18:51

I am going to be about 200kg soon! I also can't stop eating. Last time I barely managed to eat for first 3 months so this time I am struggling to not eat like a pig just in case I can't eat again at any point!

ohcluttergotme · 22/10/2013 19:01

I'm Edinburgh too! Smile

Stacks · 22/10/2013 19:07

There no way I can read back everything, far too tired! So I'm going to do a quick update, then read, then post again if I still have the energy.

Being pregnant with a young DS is already quite hard work, his sleep was awful last week, so I've been even more tired than I would be. Luckily he's back to sleeping through now, if not as long as I'd like :)
I rang the midwives today, and the local epu, and got myself booked in for an early scan on 4th Nov. They need to check it's not an ectopic pregnancy, as I only have one tube. It's our wedding anniversary on the 5th, so quite nice timing :)
I've also found out though that I probably need medication for my thyroid. I've had a bunch of tests recently showing it was 'borderline' but the levels should all be different in pregnancy, so I probably need to go on thyroxine. Is anyone here on it? I didn't need it with DS, so it's all a bit new and a bit worrying.

Finally, I'm in Edinburgh too! Anyone fancy a meet up sometime?

ohcluttergotme · 22/10/2013 19:15

Stacks so feel your pain, I have an extremely lively little boy who puts up a battle every bedtime and wakes at the crack of dawn, I am so tired.
At the moment I feel really sick and this is so awful but his voice is making me feel ill! I know that's awful and I love him dearly but he is exhausting!
I would love an Edinburgh pregnant mums meet up Smile

Bumblebeesmum · 22/10/2013 19:25

Bit new to all this - want to PM Ladygonegaga email ad to join Facebook group but can't of the life of me work out how?!

I have a little one 1 who is 16 months old but never really used forums with 1st.

Help appreciated :)

SarahAnderson · 22/10/2013 19:28

I am another one who only used one test. To be honest it has never occurred to me to do more than one ... Just like it hasn't occurred to me to tell my parents more than once, or make more than one GP appointment - when it's done it's done, right?

I can't tell whether the tiny bit of nausea today was just my 'magi nation. Hoping it was. I did order a pea risotto at lunch when everyone else was having fish and chips, with no particular food envy, which is NOT LIKE ME AT ALL.

mumof5plusazoo · 22/10/2013 19:37

Hi bumblebee,
If you find a post from ladygonegaga and look on the top right corner of it there is a link saying message poster click it and follow what it says.

RaRa1988 · 22/10/2013 19:47

I had a scan this afternoon (at about 6+1) and I saw its little heartbeat! Omg it was amazing! I know a few of you have already had this, but I didn't realise quite how I'd feel until I'd saw it Grin.

Also....going back for another scan next week as there may be twins! Hmm

Liquidambar · 22/10/2013 19:51

Oh Rara how exciting! Twins??!! :) Glad all went well.

spinningirl10 · 22/10/2013 19:53

RaRa.....twins!! How exciting!

Do they run in your family?

Must have been fantastic to see the heart beat and know that all is progressing well :)

NessieMcFessie · 22/10/2013 20:04

Blimey! Again away for a few days and a couple of hundred posts spring up! Welcome and congrats to everyone who has joined!

Am still away on holiday......feeling so sick....without fail at around 3pm everyday it kicks in......horrible! Am trying so hard to push through for DH and DD......will be home on Friday and then planning to spend the weekend on the couch before back to work on Monday. Will book for first scan for next week too - very exciting! It is very surreal doing it overseas though. For DD I went through my pregnancy overseas and went home for the birth in the UK - had my first UK midwife appointment at about 37-38 weeks - got the shock of my life when they started feeling around for the baby! I was terrified that they would hurt it!

MrsB2013 · 22/10/2013 20:17

RaRa that's great news! And twins!!! Do they run in the family?

MTMD · 22/10/2013 20:27

Congrats all girls with scans!

Mums, I don't know how you do it. I've been lying in bed since coming back from work, feeling awful, sick and hungry at the same time. Don't know how I'll last another day at work, let alone weeks! To make things worse, work is a bit rubbish at the moment (my assistant is on long term s/l so I'm left with all mind numbingly boring stuff) and I would definitely be applying for other jobs if I wasn't pregnant.

CleverOl10 · 22/10/2013 20:27

I'm on holiday in Edinburgh this week!!!!!

Just been out for a fab all you can eat Chinese, my favourite food, and for the second time since being pg it just went straight through me. Looks like this baby is rejecting Chinese food. So sad. That's it for 8 months. :(

jaykay987 · 22/10/2013 20:31

Im pretty sure I conceived whilst on a long weekend in Edinburgh.

Rara - that must have been so so exciting! Twins??!!?!! Should I have my FX or uncrossed iykwim? Grin

Liquidambar · 22/10/2013 20:53

Jay you can always say you have a Scottish baby Wink

clever I hope you are enjoying your time. The weather has been very mild! I too love Chinese food but I can't think about have a Chinese meal, apart from dumplings Hmm

nessie it's incredible how the antenatal care varies from country to country. Are you coming back to the UK for this baby, or are you having it overseas?

VickyVix · 22/10/2013 21:06

Wow RaRa great news you got to hear the heartbeat, must be amazing........and possibly twins!! Fantastic :)

bee024 · 22/10/2013 21:32

Ooh, just found an answerphone message saying I have my scan appointment for the 25th November - feels ages away - can't wait! :)

LadyGoneGaga · 22/10/2013 21:36

Bumblebee have messaged you. Look in your inbox. Just mail me your email address and I can dd you.

Stacks I've been on Thyroxine for about 7 years now but I was on it pre-babies. But they do tend to up your dose in pregnancy and you will be put under consultant-led care for that reason. You sometimes get extra growth scans too. But if everything is ok they normally transfer you back to midwife led towards the end. It's really not too bad, take your tablet first thing and it gave me so much more energy. It was like someone switched a lightbulb on for me!

Rara lovely news on your scan...and uber-exciting about the possibility of twins. I must admit I'm a bit concerned in case ours is twins as that would take us to 4 kids which not sure I could handle right now! But it would be lovely in lots of ways too.

MTMD I'm hating my job too right now. Seriously thinking about not going back afterwards. Just need to talk DH into it!

Boobs are feeling tender and starting to fill the bra again, going to be weird having bigguns again!

LadyGoneGaga · 22/10/2013 21:48

On the test front, SarahAnderson. Well yes. When you are pregnant, you are pregnant. But if you've had a loss in the past sometimes it helps to reassure you seeing the line get darker in the wait until your scan as a way of seeing your HCG increasing. So the analogy you use probably doesn't work. And it's good it didn't occur to you as I am assuming you haven't gone through it.

wispaxmas · 22/10/2013 22:24

God I would love ours to be twins, but I'm sure it's not. Congrats, rara, I can't for for my Friday scan now!
