A bag of salt and vinegar mini cheddars helped sort me out this morning, and mini cheddars don't feel just as bad as crisps.

jaykay987 · 20/10/2013 11:59

............not sure if its too early...........but can I join you?

BFP yesterday and confirmed CB digi this morning. I have longish cycles, so am 4w+2 but nhs will likely measure me as 4w+6 (I think).

Due date 27th June. I might also straddle the July thread (when there is one) as this is my first so Ill probably be late.

I feel a bit wary Im joining and you're already two threads in! I've followed most of you as Ive come from the buses. Hopefully Ive got a sticky bean and Ill stay with you for a happy and healthy 9months! Grin

MyNameIsWinkly · 20/10/2013 12:01

Hi jay, I'm 4+4 with an edd of 27/6 roughly, as is someone else, come sit at the back with us :)

jaykay987 · 20/10/2013 12:04

Thanks winkly. I a bit scared! Please look after me! Grin

GillyBillyWilly · 20/10/2013 12:08

Hi jaykay! Smile

jaykay987 · 20/10/2013 12:11

Hi Gilly! I feel like the new girl at school! Smile

LadyGoneGaga · 20/10/2013 12:22

Hello, Jaykay. I was looking at your chart and thinking it looked hopeful but didn't want to give you false hope if not. So pleased you got your BFP. I got one too. Think we'll be due about the same time. I reckon I'm 4+0 today - got my BFP on Wednesday!

We went to a wedding yesterday so I used the "don't refuse the drink but keep subtly swapping my glass with DH's" method of alcohol avoidance. I want to keep it a secret until Christmas but last time I had a bump by 10 weeks so we will see. But I would love to put a scan pic into their Christmas cards.

jaykay987 · 20/10/2013 12:31

Hi lady!

Id love to tell our parents in their Christmas cards. Back when we started ttc, I was crazily thinking...if we're lucky enough to fall first month.....do you think I can hide it until Im 20 weeks just so we can tell at Christmas!! Grin

FX if all goes to plan our 12ww scan should be mid December.....so hopefully we can go ahead with the plan!

ElizaB3 · 20/10/2013 12:47

That's a nice idea Lady it would be the best Christmas present. We have my SIL's wedding in Dec; did u manage to get thru the whole wedding without anyone noticing u weren't actually drinking?
DH wants to tell his parents with a scan pic, but that will fall the week of his sisters wedding (i.e. at risk of being accused of stealing thunder!)

Welcome to all the new BFP's. Chances are that we will have successful pregnancies, even if you had mc before the odds are still on the success side, so focus on the positive of the BFP & try to enjoy. x

MarlenaGru · 20/10/2013 12:58

Good luck for Wednesday carrot
Welcome jaykay Grin

I finally got mil out the way long enough to call my mum and tell her. Really hope she can keep it a secret but I guess the whole of her town will know by tomorrow.

SicknSpan · 20/10/2013 13:01

Hannah we have told our 2 sons (8 and 5) been so sick that they were worried about me and we didn't want to scare them. They were absolutely thrilled and I'm really glad we told them now (7+4) it's a bit of a test for the littlest to keep it in it made a massive positive for them out of a situation they were a bit nervous of. Depends too on how good your 4 yr old is at keeping secrets- might be a lovely family secret to have if just the three of you know.

Liquidambar · 20/10/2013 16:02

welcome to the newbies

batman my ds was a preem. he arrived at 35 weeks. Perhaps I should be in the May thread as well. But I'm hopeful that we can go up to 38 weeks this time Smile

Just arrived home after nearly two weeks away. All the flights went well and thank god i wasn't sick.

wispaxmas · 20/10/2013 17:18

Oh my gosh, I'm so far behind! Not enough time to catch up with everything, but welcome all the newbies. I'm going to have to update the list soon, but it's looking daunting at the minute.. Unless any kind souls want to do it for me Grin

Has anyone had their booking in appt yet? I finally got my letter, but it won't be until I'm 10+3!

Snowlet · 20/10/2013 17:24

I'm so behind too! welcome to the newsies!! :)

wispa I had mine but it was such a non-event, she took blood pressure, tons of paperwork, asked where I wanted to give birth, explained food, supplements, etc (stuff I already knew) and booked me to come in in three weeks for bloods.... she didn't even do a pregnancy test! She was really lovely though, so I'm chuffed

cheesysmile · 20/10/2013 17:45

Welcome jaykay Smile

Thanks for the scan advise Gilly, what your mum and sister said totally makes sense. I had an early mc in July but doc has told me I'm no more likely to have a mc this time than anyone else so I should probably just try and chill out and wait for the 12wk scan too. Yep really gonna try and do that I think, thanks!

Mitchell2 · 20/10/2013 17:51

I had mine, and must admit not impressed. I have depression so knew I needed to be referred to another set of midwives, and the one booking me in was rubbish. No discussion as to where I wanted to give birth (I know I have a choice - I'm in central london), marked me down for flu and whooping cough jabs when I explicitly told her I wanted more info re these, I had to tell her I needed bloods (and then help her on the computer to book them!). When asking about my referral and what the next steps were she said she didn't know but assumed someone would contact me! Oh and although this is my first I have a history of gyane issues and have a bit of pain and she was dismissive. I know due to my condition I can be a bit neurotic but having a sensible educated conversation with this woman was impossible! FX that the next set of midwives want to treat me like an adult and I can start being an active participant in this whole thing. Hmm

MrsB2013 · 20/10/2013 17:54

Hi ladies!!

I got my bfp this weekend, due date is 1st July.

Do you mind if I join you for a while as it's very early days, don't want to start a July thread just yet!

We also decided before we started ttc that we wanted to do the scan picture in the Christmas card for parents! I think I want to tell my parents before 12 weeks, but we'll see how it goes!!

jaykay987 · 20/10/2013 18:04

hello mrsb!

wispa - how's Paris?

snowlet - it amazes me they just take our word for it!

thanks cheesy. I'm tempted to get a reassurance scan. would be good to hear who has and who hasn't and how they found it.

Mitchell - that sounds awful! hope the next person you see is better

I've got a doctors appointment on Wednesday. It's super early, but I need to get my thyroid tablets reviewed as soon as possible. I mainly worried they are going to tell me off about my weight.....I'm scared!

GillyBillyWilly · 20/10/2013 18:04

Hi MrsB!!!!!!!! Smile
Yippeeee you're here!

My booking appt is on Wednesday. The midwife called me last week as she had to change the time from 2pm til 1pm. She sounded really lovely and enthusiastic so I hope its a good appointment! I'm looking forward to it Smile

GinandStripes · 20/10/2013 18:16

I've only had my initial doctors appointment, pretty short and sweet.

She has referred me to the hospital of my choice and now I wait for my letter.

I'm hoping I made the right choice of hospital - anyone else in East London?

jaykay987 · 20/10/2013 18:22

Sorry gin I don't know the hospitals in east London. FX you get your letter soon.

I don't know the way it works near me, so I'll wait to Wednesday and find out.

I've just realised, I have a chiropractor appointment tomorrow. I should tell him Im pregnant shouldn't I? That'll be odd. DH doesn't know yet! Grin

wispaxmas · 20/10/2013 18:26

Sorry to hear you midwife was rubbish at the booking in appt, Mitchell!

I'm not sure what to say about where I want to give birth, as we will be moving over the winter (we have accepted an offer on our flat and will be putting an offer in on a house in a different area next week!).. So I'm going to have to be transferred to another midwife/hospital midway through!

Paris is good. I'm slowly slowly picking up some French again, but mostly geared towards dogs, as I tend to only speak to people when out with Wispa! I'll try to be on a bit more often now, it seems like we've gotten about to the end of having brand new junebugs.

I totally get the hesitation to start a new thread, mrsb! I thought for sure I was jinxing to to start a June thread, but I'm glad I did. Stick around though, even if we are further ahead in pg, it could be helpful for you?

MrsB2013 · 20/10/2013 18:27

I know I've only just got my bfp, but what do I do now? Is the doctor's the next step?

I am thinking of having an early private scan. Also been looking into having the Harmony test, but it is very expensive! Is anyone else having it? I'm 32, so not really old, but I do worry about my age.

MrsB2013 · 20/10/2013 18:28

Thanks Wispa, yes I'm hoping you can all hold my hand and give me advice!!!

Unoriginalusername123 · 20/10/2013 18:29

Just jumping in to say hello. I'm 5 weeks + 2 days so EDD of 20th June. Exciting times! Hope those suffering from nausea are feeling better - I've spent most of today sleeping!
