Bumpiemalumpie · 21/09/2013 17:44

Hey,

You are all so lovely!!

Ok, Am currently 'Bumpiemalumpie' otherwise known as Em, 28 years old(29 tomorrow) newly married, epecting first DC (honeymoon bubba) 20wks 6days due Jan/Feb.. Worrier extraordinar and absorber of advice!!

Although this is my first own I was a baby nanny for also 6 years and now work with families around parenting concerns. However, do not assume I will be a pro!!!

I am holding off of the shopping at the moment although on a recent business trip, visited the Trafford Centre (currently live in hants) and found the more beautiful knitted elephant hat!!

I love it, Boo, I follow a 'due any day' thread despite only just being half way!!

keepitgoing · 21/09/2013 17:53

ooh lovely, a honeymoon baby Envy What are you doing for your birthday bumpie? OK so I will be counting you as an expert despite what you say, as I feel like I know nothing at all but have been practising a bit with my new niece

Solars · 21/09/2013 18:25

Wow so much to catch up on!

Boo how did you guess we were out shopping today, but nothing baby related, all for MrS!! He bought a coat, a jumper, a suit, 2 shirts, trousers and a tie!!!! We had some m&s discount vouchers so thought we'd use them up!

I'm so had that things are coming along nicely for you Sweetie I like you, have really only had a few niggles so far and count myself very lucky touch wood it continues how is your hand by the way? I've been waking up lately in the middle of the night with pins and needles and I've been experiencing a dull ache in my right hand during the day, MrS says its quite likely carpal tunnel and not much you can do about :(

Maybe stop using that Doppler and come talk to us :) You sound pleased with your new purchases, which pillow did you get by the way?

Hello Bumpie sorry to hear about your scan but if they don't want to see you again until 34 weeks perhaps it may not be so bad but can understand the worry, I'd be googling like mad too. All I can say is that I know someone who on their 20 week scan found a kidney issue with their dd, they were given scans every couple weeks until the birth and she was fine when she was born and even now at 4 years old she has no issues at all. I'm a couple weeks off my 20 week scan and hoping all will be well.

Right I've forgotten what else I was going to write and I need to check on dinner!

Oh yes I hope to see lots of pics on FB of the meet up tomorrow, enjoy!!

Bumpiemalumpie · 21/09/2013 18:46

Hi,

S, I heard that pins and needles are very common in pregnancy, perhaps you need to sleep with a pillow between your legs??

Keep my wonderful mum and nanny turned up as a surprise today for a pre-birthday cuppa. Nanny is an hour away and mum 2 hours away so it was a lovely surprise that apparently DH had been keeping for over a week!! Tomorrow we are having chilli(my cravings are hot, spicey foods) and a friend is over from Australia!

What has everyone else been up to?

x

SweetieTime · 21/09/2013 19:28

Bumpie welcome, pull up a cushion and settle yourself down. Congratulations on your honeymoon baby and happy birthday for tomorrow. As the others have said your hospital mustn't be too concerned about the issue or they would monitor you more closely. I am having twins and we are seen every 4 weeks from 20 weeks and I think every 2 weeks from 30 weeks. If you are worried raise it with your midwife as they can send you back for additional scans if needed.

Solars my hands are just the same really, I am just living with it. Some days I struggle to even grip a pen at work to write and other days it isn't as bad. As your DH says I don't think there is much that can be done. It is due to increased fluid that builds up in pregnancy and puts additional pressure on carpel tunnel. You have my total sympathy.

Has anyone else noticed an improvement in their hair since being pregnant? Even my hairdresser said it is now much fuller, glossier and generally more healthy. I am sure it won't last once the twins arrive and it will be back to rattails. It does look lovely at the moment, shame I am sat here in my pyjamas watching Saturday night TV.

BlindKitty · 21/09/2013 21:55

keep speaking of big knickers I had a good clear out today and got rid of all my inappropriate underwear! Said goodbye to all my 34b/c bras and size 10 thongs even though they've not fit me in years anyway

Well went on an all day drinking binge today (minus the alcohol obviously!). I was doing such a good job trying to convince people I was drinking that I had to admit tol my friend that I'd been on pretend wine as he was worried about me driving haha! Will be so easy when I can just come clean and tell people why I'm not drinking!

Looking forward to meeting you guys tomorrow xx

ThedementedPenguin · 21/09/2013 22:54

Really hope I remember everything.

Hi bumpie happy birthday for tomorrow and welcome.

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow.

I went shopping Thursday night, although hardly any where near me does maternity wear but I thought I'd look however, in the few shops I did find stuff it was all over bump trousers and I'm not at that stage yet. So I'm all unbuttoned trousers and long tops.

I'm not long home, my sister and I went to an ice hockey game tonight. It was fantastic. Such a great atmosphere at it, was jumping out of my seat. Was front row so got to see everything. I think I'll be going to a lot more. Was saying to her I can't wait to ds is older so he can come. I think he would love it as he loves violence. (Strange child).

Right I'm away to bed.

BlindKitty · 22/09/2013 06:12

penguin haven't been to an ice hockey game in tests but do remember loving it when I did. British sport is so boring in comparison!

keepitgoing · 22/09/2013 08:10

Early morning weeing? I spot a symptom kitty!

Happy birthday bumpy!

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 22/09/2013 09:19

Happy birthday and welcome bumpie! Thanks Cake

Hope the brookers are having an amazing meet Smile

Glad you enjoyed the ice hockey Pen

Solars I got this one I love it already.

Hello everyone else. Tis not a good day here, I totally over did it yesterday and am really suffering today. All I did was pop to see my parents, but it's completely drained me Sad

Hope everyone else is good and enjoying their Sunday x

Bumpiemalumpie · 22/09/2013 13:09

Morning all.

Thank you so much for your birthday wishes. My wonderful DH let me sleep in then presented me with a load of cards he has been secreting away over the week, a pressie from my parents and a large box from him (wrapped in a blanket!!)

Opened the box to find a coffee machine, I now love him more than ever!! Coffee is my craving, of course it is Decaf but it does Hot Chocolate and lots of teas as well. Bless him, we then went to Tesco to have a fry up and buy some coffee sachets!!!

Bean(LO) seems to be jumping for joy for my birthday today as well, not stopped moving around which is very comforting.

What is every one else up to today???

Solars · 22/09/2013 13:16

Bumpie happy birthday, hope you're having a lovely day!! My pins and needles are in my hands, thankfully nothing last night.

Sweetie if your hands do become worse I think you may be able to see a physio and they may be able to give you splints to wear, worth considering if it gets worse. My hair has always been quite full but not getting glossy, however I'm loving my nails at the moment, they usually split at the edges but they've been growing nice and strong and long.

Sounds like you had a great night out last night Pen

Maybe I noticed too a day out can really take it out of you, take it easy today.

I'm sure all the rest of you are having a lovely day meeting up!

As predicted my friend cancelled on me today, MrS always complains when I tell him we're meeting up because she always cancels on me. She used to be a really good friend but ever since I've got married and now that I'm pregnant she seems to have got worse, she's still single. Whenever I talk to her I never talk about myself unless she asks but maybe I just have to accept our friendship has run it's course :( Anyway enough of my woes, have a lovely Sunday!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 22/09/2013 19:01

What a lovely pressie Bumpie! Have you had a nice meal made for you?

I'm sorry your friend let you down Solars. Did you manage to do something nice with your day in the end?

How did your meal go Trix?

GreenOlives · 22/09/2013 19:05

NoMaybeAboutIt · 22/09/2013 20:14

Sounds lovely Trix! Your poor tummy Sad

I fear I've regressed again. Tried to eat tonight, couldn't even swallow it. Well, at least I had some nutrition the last few days Grin

BlindKitty · 22/09/2013 20:31

keep I've always done that but since learning I'm pg I've woken about 3.00 every morning and been awake 1-2 hours!

maybe we missed you today Sad

bumbie I once got a present from a man wrapped in tinfoil! His excuse was that since he usually got me to do his wrapping, he had to improvise lol

I'm back!!! Was lovely to meet the brookers! Lovely ladies (and babies!) Grin

cartoontrickster · 22/09/2013 20:41

Solars · 22/09/2013 21:27

Yes glad you all had a lovely time!

Maybe I had a nice relaxing day, did some yoga and went for a walk to buy my latest must have Snaps, I can't get enough of them at the moment Blush Sorry to hear you've regressed but hope you feel better tomorrow, and thanks for the pillow link, I was looking at that a couple of weeks ago, may just get to now.

Trix your lunch sounds yum!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 22/09/2013 21:31

Ooh, snaps!!! I haven't had them for ages!!! What flavour?!

This pillow is my new beat friend. It really is so comfy Smile I'm glad you had a nice relaxing day.

Solars · 22/09/2013 21:33

Their tomato flavour! I discovered they sold them at a local shop about 6 months ago, nobody else sells them!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 22/09/2013 21:34

Oh!! I thought you means cadburys snaps!! I love a ketchup flavoured crisp!!
