Solars · 22/09/2013 21:37

I meant the crisps. Loved them as a kid!

BlindKitty · 23/09/2013 07:17

trix ah they were all lovely Smile...apart from...only kidding Wink

keepitgoing · 23/09/2013 08:58

yes, yesterday was lovely!

trix i know you were thinking of buying stuff from Boots. Well. if oyu join the parenting club you get £25 off £100 if you buy a pram or car seat, as well as some other things. I was there yesterday and didn't use that one but did on plenty of the other vouchers they give you - i think it's worth joining.

6 more weeks of work. I'm only working till lunchtime today as I'm off to the midwife this afternoon. Ooh and I've booked my whooping cough jab for next monday as well.

And I think i've spotted the dark line down my tummy, though it's a bit faint. Clearly I can only see it by looking in the mirror.

maybe I hope that yesterday was just a short setback. I take it you're off work this week too? Hopefully you can enjoy this week a bit more, and then go back feeling all glow-y next week :)

solars when is your 20 week scan, then?

ThedementedPenguin · 23/09/2013 09:26

maybe I hope you are able to eat something soon.

bumpie hope you had a good birthday.

We went to the zoo yesterday. Was a great day, however, our closest zoo is like climbing a mountain. Trying to do that and push a pram/carry ds. I am still exhausted. Could really do with some more sleep.

So did everyone have a good day at the meet up? Wish I could of went.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 23/09/2013 11:10

Yay for a half day Keep! Hope all goes well with the mw.

Yes, am off for another ten days.

Thanks Pen. Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday. Hope you're recovering!

Solars · 23/09/2013 14:28

Afternoon preggos!

Keep I have the line, appeared a few weeks ago I think. My scan is on 2 October.

So how have you been feeling today Maybe? great you have more time off.

Hope you managed to get a some sleep Pen

Nothing too exciting to report from me, how is everyone else doing?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 23/09/2013 14:46

Do all preggos get one of these lines?

I'm not too good today Solars. Maybe my 14 week deadline was a tad optimistic!

Solars · 23/09/2013 14:56

I don't think all get the line Maybe so I wouldn't worry. Sorry to hear you're still not feeling good, just take it easy, I'm brooking you'll feel better very soon. Do you have your 16 week midwife appointment soon?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 23/09/2013 15:24

Thanks lovely Solars. I do, just over two weeks time. Can I ask, is it normal to be feeling so cold? I am freezing all the time now. Up until a few weeks ago, I was always hot, but since being ill I've gone the opposite way.

Solars · 23/09/2013 15:27

I don't know about feeling cold, I've only ever felt warmer than normal. Is it worth giving the midwife a call? Maybe you're coming down with something?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 23/09/2013 15:35

I've felt cold the last few weeks. I will definitely mention it to her when I see her. I don't think there'd be much point in calling her she scares me too much

keepitgoing · 23/09/2013 15:42

Do you think it could be lack of food and therefore energy that's making you feel cold? Fin will be taking it all. Are you v tired? Are you in touch with gp or mw? You've barely eaten in weeks. You poor thing.

I don't think everyone gets The Line. Yours is quite early solars :) It's weird, they have no real explanation as to why it happens.

cartoontrickster · 23/09/2013 15:47

maybe I'm scared of mine a bit too! solars is right not everyone gets 'the line' I've got a faint one but it stops at my belly button. some go all the way up. apparently there's an old wives tale to predict the gender by it but I can't remember which way around it is. I'm gunna guess and say that if it only went to belly button it means girl.

Solars · 23/09/2013 16:00

Haha Trix there's nought wrong in making up our own old wives tales!

I've just looked up on wiki Linea nigra is due to increased melanocyte-stimulating hormone made by the placenta, which also causes melasma and darkened nipples. Fair-skinned women show this phenomenon less often than women with darker pigmentation Perhaps the because I'm darker skinned is why mine has come up earlier Keep?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 23/09/2013 16:04

Grin Trix love an old wives tale!!

I am very tired Keep. All the time. I've been putting it down to lack of food. Though MrM has come back from the shops with everything under the sun 'just in case there's anything I feel like' Grin

You are the knowledge Solars Wink

keepitgoing · 23/09/2013 16:32

Have you got melasma then solars? Mine stops at belly button too.

All good with kip. He's head down, measuring above the 90th percentile but that's the first time I've had the fundal height measured. Back in 3 weeks at 34 weeks Shock

Solars · 23/09/2013 16:50

Wow Keep you're going to be giving birth before you know it. Glad to hear all is well with Kip. I don't have melasma but definitely have the line. Mine goes all the way up beyond the belly button.

Maybe MrM is a keeper :)

NoMaybeAboutIt · 23/09/2013 17:54

Ah, great news Keep! Is the time flying by now? How exciting!! Kip will be here before you know it!

He is Solars Wink

SweetieTime · 23/09/2013 19:11

Keep sounds like you will be sneezing very soon. Pleased kip is measuring well.

maybe you poor thing, when will things get better for you??? I haven't been warm, in fact my feet are still freezing and need my bed socks. We have our electric blanket on too Blush But I am sure your sickness won't be helping you keep warm, all the nutrients will be going to grow baby.

No line to report and belly button still an inny

Great to meet up with everyone yesterday. All Brookers are lovely - FACT & all Brooking babies are gorgeous - FACT

NoMaybeAboutIt · 23/09/2013 19:22

Sweetie bed socks are a must!! Interesting to know you've been chilly too!!

I'm so pleased you all had a lovely time yesterday. Brookers rock. Fact.

cartoontrickster · 23/09/2013 19:38

sooo what did we miss by not being at the meet up?
been to see my consultant this afternoon. was at the hosp for nearly 2hrs because they were running so late. had a bit of a fright because she couldn't find the heart beat with the Doppler. but it did mean I got to have a quick scan and see treats Smile .
I've been having some achy period like pains all round my lower tummy and down my legs I'm tucked up in bed with them now actually. consultant didn't seem worried though she said its just everything stretching and growing.

Bumpiemalumpie · 23/09/2013 21:25

Hello all

Just got back from Yoga Bumps, an exciting time as we were at the local birthing centre. It is Domino care and a lady came in for a baby!!! We also practised birthing positions, the MW had some cards, they were interesting however, they reminded me of some cards I got given on my hen do!!!

I had a lovely day yesterday the coffee machine is great, although I have only used it for Hot Chocolate as I could not get any decafs in Tesco. He cooked a lovely Chilli b(craving spicey food atm!) and we had a bake off. Him cooking apple cake, me cooking brownies and flapjack!!

How are you all? I have a dark line from my hairy bit to my belly button, I can't see it but DH can!!

Where did you all meet? Was it lovely??

How are the pins and needles guys?? I asked my Yoga teacher and she said that it may be where you are laying, suggested the use of a yoga pillow even if they are in the hands??

God, wrote so much, am currently researching my local maternity unit in local hospital as, with the new complication of a Single Umbilical Artery I have lost my plans for the birthing centre/home birth!!! :(

x

MrM sounds fantastic maybe

I've been slightly colder than usual as well. Although the fact you are not eating much won't help you maybe

trix it's great when you get an unexpected scan at an appointment.

Think I'm going to go to bed. Up early as ds has his injections in the morning. Not looking forward to it. Sad
