OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Stom91 · 03/09/2013 14:02

I know what you mean crying I want to see baby again! I'm worried she's not growing so hopefully mw will reassure me on Thursday :)

This will be the 3rd mw I've seen. Hopefully won't change anymore!
Baking sounds good! Just don't have anymore accidents lol x

CryingGivesMeAHeadache · 03/09/2013 14:30

I have seen a different midwife each time too. Apparently Mel who is my assigned midwife is always at home births. Grin

Stom91 · 03/09/2013 14:38

I had someone called. Kayleigh. Because Jane my Mw was on holiday. Then I did see Jane but now Jane has left so now I have someone called Vicky lol.

CryingGivesMeAHeadache · 03/09/2013 14:43

I'm watching One Born Every Minute and the midwife on it in this episode is annoying the hell out of me. Her voice makes me want to smash my laptop screen.

Roselau · 03/09/2013 14:43

i'm so confused with the system. i have only seen my midwife once in the whole process so far, at 16 weeks, and she was pretty useless. the second time i'm meant to see her is the 28 week appointment.
for 24 weeks they told me to see my gp, and i think it's the same for 32 weeks but i wont be here anymore.

Stom91 · 03/09/2013 15:00

oh thats strange! theyve not said anything about me seeing my gp for my checks,
i just got to a family clinic thing down the road.
we will see when i go on thursday. will you all be having the flu jab? and the coughing one? or have any of you had them before?

Stom91 · 03/09/2013 15:11

crying is that the one on really channel?

CryingGivesMeAHeadache · 03/09/2013 15:16

Nah i'm watching it on 4od because I can't find the tv remote haha.
Don't think i'll have the flu jab or the coughing one. I do have to have that anti D one though apparently. Ugh I hate needles!

Stom91 · 03/09/2013 15:20

ooh haha im watching one on really. but its old.. its weird watching it though, knowing that im going to go through that in a few months!!!

im not too bad with needles... the amount of blood tests ive had in the last few months i think if i had a phobia i would have gotten over it lol

CryingGivesMeAHeadache · 03/09/2013 15:36

I know. I think I am living in denial about labour. If I ignore the fact that it is already September and in 3 months time it will nearly be time to meet baby crying then I don't have to face up to the fact it will hurt Why can't I just go to sleep and then wake up with a baby? It would be much easier Grin

Stom91 · 03/09/2013 15:40

hahah i think every woman wishes that! lol..
im trying to keep a calm and open mind about labour.
ill prob be awful on the day lol
i hope i go into labour when dp is about, i dont want to be on my own lol

it hurts my tummy to sneeze.. lol i think my muscles and ligaments are all stretching and then i sneeze and iim like owwww lol

CryingGivesMeAHeadache · 03/09/2013 15:47

DP is expecting me to walk to the hospital when i'm in labour. We live about a 15 minute walk away and he is convinced I will just be able to breeze merrily down there. I think he is living in a dream world haha!

abcdemma · 03/09/2013 15:51

I'm booked in for the cough jab next week, thought may as well as it's safe and will protect bambino. Will probs have flu jab too for same reason.
Labour is becoming more and more of a reality isn't it? I'm not one of those who'll scream the house down when in pain but as it's the worst pain I'll have experienced it'll prob be a whole new ball game lol! I want a water birth too so it'll be gas & air all the way :(

mumoftwoboysS · 03/09/2013 15:54

I feel terrible. Kids just trashed the bathroom- water and stuff everywhere, whilst I was washing up thinking they were playing nicely. I just screamed blue murder at them I was so angry. Didnt have much effect- my 2 yo thought it was funny which made me even more mad. Then I spent some time crying thinking what a bad mum I am. I've never shouted like that at them but I was just so angry like a raging bull- maybe hormones?? God, I feel so bad now. I don't want my kids to think its ok to shout like that but when they do something like that I want them to know its not ok. Sigh....now I'm even worried baby has been affected by my insanely angry outburst. Sad

CryingGivesMeAHeadache · 03/09/2013 16:00

mum don't worry. Everyone loses their rag at some point. your boys will soon get over being shouted at and perhaps they might think twice about being naughty if they saw how angry and upset it made their mum. I don't think your baby will have been affected so stop worrying about that. Have a cup of tea and a sit down.

Stom91 · 03/09/2013 16:06

mum boys will be boys, dont worry about shouting at them, and im sure baby is fine. like crying said, sit down and have a cup of tea.

is anyone elses hair falling out? mine is not loads but im finding bits everywhere :(

Green18 · 03/09/2013 16:08

Its ok. It happens. When you've calmed down explain why you were cross though your 2 yr old is a bit young to understand. Family life!

Green18 · 03/09/2013 16:09

I hope youre joking!

MrsShrubs · 03/09/2013 17:24

mum the fact that you care and are feeling bad go to show you are a good mum, if you didn't care at all how you spoke to your children or how you treated them then maybe you could put yourself in the the bad mum category. Same as green I'd apologise for shouting and then explain why you were angry and what they did wrong.

mumoftwoboysS · 03/09/2013 18:58

Thanks for the supportive posts! A cuppa a fair bit of chocolate and a scone helped!! And I took advice and explained/apologised. My 2 yo, when asked what he'd done wrong, didn't know so I guess that shows he's too young to understand it all. And hindsight and perspective are wonderful things- a wet bathroom really isn't the end of the world. And I'm going to have a third?? Yikes!! Lol! Grin they certainly do test me at times and its so hard trying to do everything right and not shout etc.

Deya · 03/09/2013 20:07

Hi girlies! I've decided that it's time to check in myself and my boy bump ( EDD 16th Dec). Have been lurking for a while wishing that you all would talk more and now I'm here ready to help with that! Grin

Deya · 03/09/2013 20:34

Crying I can't believe that taking in account your accident stats your DP doesn't mind letting you walk to the hospital. That is a birth story of the century waiting to happen! Smile

Stom my hair is not falling out but I do wish some of it wouldn't grow! My head is covered in fluffy frizzy baby hair that sticks up between my normal hair. And the other day I found about an inch long blonde hair ( I'm brunette) growing right out of the centre of my cheek! Weird stuff.

CryingGivesMeAHeadache · 03/09/2013 20:35

Hello and welcome deya feel free to natter away Grin

I'm watching GBBO and Paul Hollywood annoys me so much. I think it's hormone related because he never bothered me before.

"it's just cake, custard, fruit and cream" SHUT UP PAUL THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT A TRIFLE IS YOU FOOL.

he makes me want to throw things at the tv every time he opens his smug little mouth.

musiceverywhere · 03/09/2013 20:46

Hi all, sorry for lack of personals but I've been gone too long and you're all so chatty! Sorry to hear about all injuries/worries, hope it's all starting to heal over. Roselau -can't believe you're moving to LA. So exciting! Stom, I hope you're feeling a bit more positive and glad to hear all well at your scan.
This week is my first week back full time so am pretty exhausted today, and also DH is working the next 3 nights which basically means I won't see him until Friday :( Used to love having the house to myself, now just feel a bit vunerable. Also doesn't feel very 'homey' at the moment due to all the building work.
Ah well, have to cheer up. Had clinic appointment today and all well, love my consultant and all the midwives at the hospital have been lovely. Just my community MW that I haven't really got on with. Has anyone else found they just feel like another irritating pregnant woman!?
Hi Deya, glad you've joined us! You're due a few days after me. Is this your first?
Lots of shuffling about from my bump which is nice. MatB form in, 8 weeks left at work!! unless house extension isn't finished in which case I might start sleeping in the office!

musiceverywhere · 03/09/2013 20:54

Crying, I've only just started watching it this series but yes he is quite irritating! Speaking of coming late to things- I've only just discovered Downton Abbey! Think I'll be requesting box sets for birthday this week in prep for mat leave/feeding sessions! Smile
