stom i was given a phone number line with 24/7 midwife service from UCLH (my hospital). it's printed on the last page of my maternity notes. that's usually who i call when i have questions because my MW is useless. i called at 4AM the day I had food poisoning and they answered my questions.
did your hospital not provide something like that?

Stom91 · 02/09/2013 15:14

Hope everything is okay storm

Enjoy seeing your little jellybean alyssa

to everyone who is jealous of my disney DVD day, well it has had to be cut short. I got up to make a drink, dropped the glass on my foot and cut it. I then bent down to pick up broken glass, stood up and smacked my head cutting it open on the open cupboard door..then fell over and put my hand onto a giant shard of glass cutting that open. I am currently in a&e feeling very stupid and sorry for myself. I shouldn't be left on my own, i'm far too accident prone!

PistachioTruffle · 02/09/2013 16:40

Oh Crying, you poor thing! Are you normally this accident prone or is pregnancy making it worse? I know I normally get really bad around the time my period is due. Hope you get seen quickly and aren't in too much pain.

Hope all is ok Stom Flowers

I've spent my day off cleaning and organising, just had a short nap and now back to it. The house WILL sparkle by tonight!

yeah I am terribly accident prone usually however pregnancy isn't making it any less. I've had to have glue on my cut on my head and just bandaged up my hand. My dad has took me to mcdonalds and tescos to stock up on junk food because I feel horrible. I am going to stay in bed till DP gets home and feel sorry for myself I think. Everywhere bloody hurts. Turns out we didn't even have any squash anyway so I should have just got the bottle of water out of the fridge.
pistachio your name has made me crave pistachio nuts like crazy. I'm surrounded by chocolate and crisps and I want none of it! Enjoy your cleaning. Isn't it lovely when everything is clean and sparkly?

Argh I'm getting really fed up now. I was desperately trying to make it to mat leave with no more sick leave and I've failed. Had thurs &fri off with fever, bad tum and headache. Felt fairly crap over the weekend but thought I'd be ok to get to work. Got showered, dressed, breakfast, left house... Then had to make DH turn around and the me home as I felt too crap. Just totally exhausted beyond belief.

This job has been an 18month unmitigated disaster. I hate it, My health has been atrocious (CFS/ME suddenly worse) and then we decided to have a baby.... Despite hating the organisation I still hate even more that I don't feel I've been there enough and well enough to do a good enough job. Giant pants.

On the plus side, the new sofa is getting a lot of use and is really comfy.

Of course! Lol need a new autunm/winter coat as mind doesn't do up now haha

Crying you really have to stop copying me, haha! Grin Somehow I managed to slice my finger open whilst doing the washing up earlier, stuck my hand inside a glass and it just shattered on me!
Didn't bother going to A&E but luckily the giant hole in my finger has stopped pouring blood now so I'm just relaxing on the sofa feeling sorry for myself. Feel a lot better knowing I'm not the only one doing stupid things at the moment though! Grin

itsliz · 02/09/2013 17:48

Oh and Stom, needing a new winter coat is DEFINITELY a good enough reason to spend it all on shopping! Wink

Itsliz... My dp done the exact same. Though he had a deep cut between his knuckles.. It needed stitches but he was being a man and wouldn't go to a and e lol.. So i wouldn't worry.. Hes not pg and still be clumsy... He did get out of finished the washing up though! I think it was a ploy! Lol

Glad to hear everything is ok stom and hope you're ok too crying

i hope you have better news than me at your growth scan Alyssa, had mine this morning, baby is small approx 5th centile, and breech although they said that there is still plenty of time to turn in the next 12 weeks and as well as that apparently I now have a low lying placenta.

Got to go back in two weeks for a repeat and the doctor said that although by then baby could have turned, grown and my placenta moved up realistically I'm likely to have to be monitored every 2 weeks or so until baby comes.

Feeling very sorry for myself, have purchased a hypnobirthing book and was saving it until after today as I was so sure I would be referred back to the MLU. Made a cheesecake with my little girl yesterday, may well end up scoffing a lot tonight!

itsliz I only went to a&e because I rang my dad to come help me pick up the bits of glass and fix the cupboard door back on. He took one look at the amount of blood on me and decided we should go get checked out.

I am 100% craving chocolate and NONE of the chocolate I have in the house is making it any better. I attempted to make a chocolate milkshake and ended up in a sniveling mess on the floor because I couldn't reach the plug socket for the blender. I don't think my mood has been helped by it being September and the realisation that I am not going back to Uni this year has hit me. All my friends are excited to start their final year and i'm here sniffing baby grows and cleaning the bath at 4am because I can't sleep. It also doesn't help that everyone in my family is convinced I will never get my degree. Feels like nobody has any faith in me recently. I feel completely lost and alone today. Sad

Report
Stom91 · 02/09/2013 18:10

Oh no crying... As long as u have faith in yourself and believe that you will do it. Thats all you need! As long as your dp supports you his opinion is the only one that counts!!
In a few months we will all be holding a bundle of joys.

Sending lots of hugs x

DP is one of the ones saying he doesn't think I will go back. Sad

Report
Stom91 · 02/09/2013 18:19

:O what a douche bag!.. Well you will just have to prove him wrong... Tell him that he should be the one having faith in you when no one else is... Tell him how upset you are..
I really want to do a learn at home course. I'm fed up with having no qualifications.

Could you finish your degree from home? X

Report
CryingGivesMeAHeadache · 02/09/2013 18:23

I probably could finish my degree at home, but it's my final year and so i'm doing a dissertation and other modules that I would prefer to take with the tutor I know. I mean it's not the end of the world if I don't get a degree, but the fact I don't get to graduate with my coursemates is getting me down. We are a close group and I miss them loads.

I've tried to tell DP how upset it makes me and he just says that there is nothing I can do about it now so there is no point crying. My DP is lovely most of the time, but sometimes just doesn't know what to say.

Report
Stom91 · 02/09/2013 18:29

Yeah i know what you mean.. My dp is the Same.. And he can say the complete wrong thing without realising. And upset me.. Men eh...

Yeah of course u want to graduate with your course mates... But things happen for a reason and you will have a beautiful baby soon. Thats got to be worth a smile x

CryingGivesMeAHeadache · 02/09/2013 18:36

Yeah I guess I won't mind come December. I just need DP to get home from work and give me a cuddle I think. I've had a bad day and very little sleep so I feel rotten. I'll just sit on the sofa probably crying till he gets home though. I never cry usually, but my hormones must be awake today
