ccsays · 29/09/2013 22:09

Evening all,

That is pretty thoughtless froubylou, could you phone NHS 24 for advice of reducing risk to yourself maybe?

Also, is anyone else absolutely roasting? I'm normally first to crack the heating on at the first sign of autumn, but I seem to be sweltering all the time!

PinkWitch803 · 29/09/2013 23:41

Ooh, I'd be cross too frou.

I wouldn't know what to do but call the docs in the morning, or midwives tonight, or both!

Xenadog · 30/09/2013 07:03

froubylou at least it's confirmation why you ex is your ex! He sounds like a thick, ignorant tosser IMHO.

Alyssa I would be making sure your DP knows how much he has pissed me off and he would be making it up to me big time. I do worry that men's lives don't change that much once they have children but women's do. Stom that would irritate me too - and I couldn't bite my tongue if I was getting an inquisition.

To all the ladies on here we are getting closer so keep well and enjoy the countdown - officially it's 11 weeks today for my EDD! I have 3 weeks of work, 2 weeks off for half term and then my last two weeks and to say I am on countdown is not the word!

Roselau · 30/09/2013 07:38

morning ladies! well it was another 5am wake-up for me! getting used to it I guess...

you all talking about premature birth is slightly freaking me out :) i need this baby to stay in there a little while longer so I can get my act together and get organised!
I'm only 28+2, but countdown is definitely on - last week of work this week, then I'm on holidays for two weeks, and then mat leave starts Oct 21st. it's 8 weeks before my due date, but I didn't have a choice because of the move. I fly out a week from tomorrow to finally join the hubby in LA. I know I'll be on the other side of the world but I hope it's ok if I stick around on this discussion board - I've really enjoyed it.

This week is going to be hell though.... I just want it OVER!

I hope you all have a great week with minimal aches and pains :)

Alyssa1978 · 30/09/2013 08:21

frouby I remember from ds1 the midwife telling me that if I'd had chickenpox before then the risk of getting it again is rare and about 3 in 1000 women would have complications if they caught it (don't quote me on that) Hmm that said, pretty dumb of your ex to not even think of you and bubs, I still give spotty chicken pox people a wide berth, its not worth the risk. Call your midwife if you notice a rash of any kind though Hun.

xena made damn sure he knew how pissed off I was and he just sat there not saying a word which made me even more mad and my mil text at 7pm seven bloody pm to ask why I hadn't dropped ds2 off.
I said WHERE YOU GONNA PAY £20 FOR MY TAXI??? No obviously not or she would've text before 7pm.

So he's gone to work today and we are in the house all day and to top it off I think ds1 is getting tonsillitis again as all he wants are cuddles, food and ice poles....all tell tale signs for him bless him. His temp was 38 last night which is high for him, he's had calpol and cooled down now, I'm just waited for his croaky voice which is a definate he's got it then it'll be off to the walk in.

So dp will have to miss slimmers world, land, whatever the hell its called, I mean seriously he's 6 foot 2 and built like a rugby player but its all muscle FFS, yes! His sister seriously needs to loose a shit load of weight but why drag him there when everyone ill be wondering what the hell he's doing there.

Arghhhhhhhhhh omg I'm a bitch! Confused I think my hormones are on fire lately.

Oh well, only 9 weeks today Grin

stom hope you and dp have made up Hun.
How's very one else doing today??

froubylou · 30/09/2013 08:24

Xenadog this is one of the many things he has done to take the piss. He is a first class wanker. But have got mt flu and wc vaccinations this morning so will speak to the practice nurse about it. I know the risk is minimal but it's an unnecessary risk.

Flooring down and finished thank gawd. Can now crack on with nesting properly. Poor DP thinks that his duties are done now. Little does he know. Have a list a mile long for him to do like curtains down etc etc. And need to buy a carpet cleaner. And loads of other bits and pieces.

Agreed about the days going down very quickly. Too quicklime lol. Got 11 weeks and 4 days for my due date.Which is not a lolong time!

Alyssa1978 · 30/09/2013 08:25

rose good luck on your very soon move to the usa.
Definitely stay on this board, you are a part of it Hun.

NomDeClavier · 30/09/2013 09:19

Do stick around rose. No-one ever told me off when I had DS on the other side of the world! Check out the Livibg Overseas section of MN if you haven't already. There are lots of US dwellers and there may be someone nearish you.

I'm really not feeling well today :(

Roselau · 30/09/2013 09:28

oh thanks nom didn't know there was a section specific for that.
sorry you're feeling shitty :( i hope it gets better as the day goes on.
thanks alyssa. really sucks you're stuck at home like this... it's really selfish of your dp. i would also be p** off

MrsShrubs · 30/09/2013 10:17

Definitely stay rose can't believe how quickly that seems to have come around for you!

Really sorry some of you are having a bad time of it or with OH's, men can be so thoughtless sometimes!!

Very very jealous of everyone getting nearer to their maternity leave dates, I'm working till 21 November so will be 36+5. I'm at a desk all day so it's not too bad, just hoping the London commute doesn't finish me off by then!

So excited, the builders are coming in tomorrow to make a start on the nursery - the whole room needs to be replastered and electrics moved around, new floor etc and then we can (and by we I mean I will be supervising the MIL and DH) start painting and get the furniture in. Will start to feel a lot more real and on top of things then Smile

WhisperMen · 30/09/2013 10:27

a mystery parcel arrived today for me and in it was a load of maternity tshirts and more importantly a pair of maternity jeans. They have pockets guys. pockets I haven't worn anything on my legs that isn't maternity leggings since I was about 13 weeks. There was a note in it saying that it was from my uni friends who had clubbed together to get me some clothes to cheer me up. Made me bawl my eyes out that people could be so thoughtful.

Got my 28 week blood test & anti D injection today. Have to go on my own as DP is at work and I'm scared as I hate needles. I feel sick already with nerves Sad

Definitely stay rose you're part of the group!

PinkWitch803 · 30/09/2013 10:44

That is really nice of your uni friends and that is nice crying!

whisper Don't worry about the needles. I am not a big fan even though I donate platelets monthly, obviously not while pregnant :). When I was a kid, it took about 6 adults to hold me down and give me injections! I suppose I learnt less resistance the quicker it is done. I just ask them to 'get on with it' now.

I am starting to come out of the other side of this cold now, thankfully. But i feel like a lazy cow because DP is still being very strict. He has good reason because we are still not out of the woods since my bleed last week. But it is really hard being a patient when you aren't really ill. Having said that, I might benefit from feeling a little better today and have a duvet day when DP goes to work.

I am making a picture thing for the nursery, so will try to get that done this afternoon while listening to some music.

Also, newsflash, i actually slept last night. I didn't get any more hours in, but the five hours I did sleep were good'uns. I almost feel revived this morning! No naps till bedtime for me now and see if we can do it two night in a row.

rosa how time flies. You will be reunited with mr Rosa so very soon when it seemed like such a long way away before. Don't use the atlantic as an excuse not to keep in touch, there are plenty of us awake at night to chat.

alyssa try not to go mad today. Maybe bake a cake or do some painting with thr little ones. It is miserable outside anyway ;)

Take care all and have a good day

Roselau · 30/09/2013 11:31

haha pink i promise I wont use it as an excuse :) yes, it's come around quickly. still a week to go though, although I know it will go very fast. gosh I'm going to miss London!!

whisper that is so sweet how thoughtful your friends are!! it's so nice to know that you have support outside of your immediate family.

mrs how lovely you get a brand new nursery. that will be so exciting you get to have it exactly the way you want it!!

Stom91 · 30/09/2013 11:59

Stick a round rose we will miss you otherwise :)

Awwh that's lovely of. You're uni friends whisper

Had abit off a crappy late night!/morning...
Found that we don't have enough to cover our bills this. Month... So have had to use what's left of our savings for the baby to cover the bills... I feel so guilty cos it's my fault for being off sick :(
Dp had a bit of a go this morning.. Saying it's my bank and i should have realised sooner etc.. (he can be grumpy in the morning) he went to the bank got got thesaving out for me to put into my bank.. He did come back and say sorry.... I just feel so bad.. Hopefully we will have abit more next month as my mat leave would have kicked in....

Its so bad I sold. My mirror for £10 so I could go and get some milk and bread and something for dinner :/

Least we get paid tomorrow

On a plus side one of dps friends has offered to buy us the most expensive thing we have left to buy which is £100! I feel bad but he's offered and he's quite well off and helps us out so we aren't complaining lol..

Cheering myself up with a cream cake lol

WhisperMen · 30/09/2013 12:15

Oh having no money is horrible isn't it storm I always feel guilty because I am not working and can't get any benefits and DP has to cover all the bills. Good news about your DPs friend buying the expensive item though. Least that's one worry dealt with.

Stom91 · 30/09/2013 12:28

yeah it sucks :(

yeah its a big help. :)

ive got this cough which ive had for weeks now its realky starting to annoy me - im not sure if its going on my chest, finding it hard to breathe.. its that horrible cough where you cough and then nearly sick from coughing so much.

mums paying for me to have my hair cut so hopefully ill feel a bit better for having my hair cut :)

Chilli81 · 30/09/2013 13:33

sorry to hear that some of you are poorly.
Alyssa that's really crappy of your DP. I would negotiate some time off for yourself as part of him making it up to you. It drives me insane how thoughtless men can be.
Stom sorry to hear you are having money problems. That sucks. Try not to feel bad though as you and your DP are a team and if he was unwell and had to take time off work, you would support him. Plus you are pregnant and you need to look after LO.
All the talk of early arrivals is freaking me out slightly too. I am only 30 weeks but have nothing sorted. DS1 was a week overdue though so I am unlikely to go early with this one. In an ideal world he would come at about 39 weeks.
I am planning on starting on Evening primrose oil at around 35 weeks to start the eviction process. THen all the usual old wives tales - raspberry leaf tea, pineapple, curry, sex...
Rose agree that you should definitely stay. It really makes no difference where you are living as it's all online anyway. Good luck with your last week. Very jealous. I still have 6 to go!

Stom91 · 30/09/2013 13:37

i keep dreaming that LO arrives at 30 weeks!

i was a week late but my brother was 4 weeks early! so you never know chilli!

mumoftwoboysS · 30/09/2013 13:43

Hello ladies! Been busy this weekend so have caught up on the thread but sorry for not replying to any individual posts- I've missed a fair bit!

updated my iphone over the weekend and lost my pregnancy app- grr! I love looking daily to see how I'm progressing. Pretty sure I'm bang on 28 weeks today. so 12 weeks to go?? I'm getting so impatient and envious of you ladies who are into you're 30's (in terms of weeks) already! Have my mw appointment tomorrow -finally so will be nice to hear the heartbeat and see how baby is growing- and meet my new mw!

Have my flu jab later this week too but have a cold-ish it's not a full blown cold but sore throat etc and not sure I should have it if I'm already not 100% well?

stom money issues are always the most stressful I find- I have things I need to buy but DH works a very tight ship- don't get me wrong, it's a GREAT idea- we have an amount we get out every week and we can't go over it- and it's up to me to budget with it so if I go over a little bit I have to take out less the next week etc. It means we still have money at the end of the month (or at least the same amount in the last week as the first week if you get what I mean) but sometimes it's so hard, especially if something breaks or we need to buy extra stuff- I try and reason with him when it seems impossible but he insists we stick to it! (and I'm not working so it really is fair enough he manages it) I am glad he's so good with finances, it just makes it tough sometimes.

I can't wait till I'm earning again -it won't be till next year but it'll ease things a bit- and give me some financial freedom (oh to be able to buy some make-up or a new top without feeling SO guilty....or actually just being able to buy it at all!)

Stom91 · 30/09/2013 13:53

yeh we have a budget each week and if we go over then we take it out of next weeks etc. we always end up doing a really cheap shop in the last week of the month cos we've over spent on the other weeks lol..
yeah i cant even afford shampoo this week.
its my birthday on the 19th and ive told dp not to get me anything (he probs will) but id rather spend the money of bills or on LO

plus its going to be just as crappy as last year as its the first anniversary of my grandads death - im over the death etc - without sounding harsh he was too inpatient and was his own fault - but my mum just annoyed me as she said that shes getting nan to stay over on the 19th and then go out for a meal on the 20th for grandad - she hasnt even asked about my birthday or if i want to do anything ( not that i have any money - but to ask would have been nice)
so now i just feel like my birthday will be forever tainted by his death - so i sound like a bitch?
sorry if i do :/

Featherbag · 30/09/2013 15:07

It's my birthday soon too Stom, I'm being pestered to tell people what I want but all I really want is to still be pregnant, will be 32+4 on my birthday so 4 days further than I managed last time!

Just had growth scan and it was AWESOME, even though the sonographer wouldn't give me any pics for DH. Baby is breech, had eyes open and appeared to be looking right at the scanner, and blinking! He also did a spot of willy-waving, just in case there was any doubt about him being a him! DM came with me and was overjoyed to see what will probably be her last DGC, I do feel sorry for DH missing it though.

Stom91 · 30/09/2013 15:21

how come they wouldnt give you any pictures? i would have been really upset!
its lovely that your DM got to see though!!

love the willy-waving!! lol

Featherbag · 30/09/2013 15:26

I am a bit upset, but this is the hospital I work in, I know the sonographer who scanned me and she has a fearsome rep for being 'by the book' - hospital guidelines state you don't get pics from any scans after 20 weeks, but if it had been any other sonographer they would've printed me some Hmm

WhisperMen · 30/09/2013 15:59

it's my birthday soon (27th oct) and I keep getting asked what I want to do. To be honest I couldn't care less. I would very much like a full uninterupted 8 hours sleep and a day without sickness/pain. Last year I had a badly broken ankle and ended up going to my step mus 60th birthday party. her birthday is the day after mine so on my birthday I was sat in a corner in pain at someone else's party. I will be 32+3 weeks so i'm not sure i'll want to do much anyway haha.

What a mean sonographer feather I hope you get your birthday wish. What day is yours on?

MrsShrubs · 30/09/2013 16:02

Featherbag are you having growth scans because of your fundal measurements or for something else entirely? I only ask because I was just at the 2 week under cut off point last week when the MW measured me and when I looked back at my notes the other MWs hadn't put any measurements down so I can't compare whether I've always been on the slightly smaller scale or whether this is a new thing. That seems really unfair to not give you a picture, especially as you work there!
