ELM · 30/07/2006 15:26

Hi Ladies, hope you are all having a lovely weekend. I'm currently vegging on the sofa, there is a million things I should be doing...
DP and builder are currently making a mess upstairs so there is no point doing housework til they're finished...right?

TUD: I so know what you mean about the planned question. Closely followed in our case with...."So.... when are you planning on getting married then?" That one makes me livid
No baby movement yet, but I guess I am only 15 weeks, and I don't really know what I'm looking for...lot's of trapped wind tho
Is anyone else still suffering from morning sickness...or is it only me?

Loubie37 · 31/07/2006 09:11

Sorry to hear about the m/s ELM - for some reason I've not been sick once yet! With my other 2 pregnancies I was fine for the first 3 months and then really suffered from 3 months all the way through and I presumed this time would be the same but so far so good Hope it eases soon x

I've got the luxury of almost a whole week to myself - Matt's at work (except for tomorrow) and the kids are at summer school for the week until 3.30pm each day so I'm going to make the most of it. It's pay day today so I'm going shopping!!

Hope you're all enjoying the cooler weather

Hi there. They have gone!!! Peace perfect peace!! Feels like I haven't stopped for a week. DS having his nap so going to just sit and watch tv and screw the tidying up!!

Glad that the scan went well Loubie. Sorry I didn't say last time but I hadn't finished writing my post and they came back. Computer in the lounge so didn't want them seeing what I had written!!

Magnolia, Hope you had a good birthday in the end. Did you do anything in the evening?

Urbandryad- a wedding- how exciting!!! You must tell us more. My sister got married in April and I am now suffering withdrawal after a year of helping to plan.

ELM- sorry you are still having prob with the morning sickness. It is misserable and nothing worse than others feeling better and you still feeling rubbish. Why is it that when you tell other people about morning sickness, they feel the need to tell you 'Oh dear, I was lucky I didn't get morning sickness'. Yess that makes me feel better !!! Nothing worse than seemingly endless m/s. Hope it goes soon for you. xxx

I am glad too that it is cooler. It is pouring down here and I am really happy about it!

Mrsworry · 31/07/2006 14:20

I am still suffering with morning sickness (at 14 weeks), thought it would be gone by now to be honest. It's not all day now (which gives some relief) but I am finding it extremely difficult to get in to an eating routine. Does anyone else find this? It doesn't help being at work with a two hour commute every morning and night but my appetite is just all up in the air at the moment.

Also, has anyone else been feeling really down in the dumps/deprssed in their pregnancy? Sorry to put a low mood on things. I am just really struggling with feeling low and wondered if this is normal or I should mention to the midwife (I don't really want to cause unnecessary fuss).

ELM · 31/07/2006 15:25

Hi Everyone...thanks for the empathy..it's lovely to get some, it's been a bit thin on the ground at work and at home!

Mrsworry, sorry you are feeling down..talk to the midwife about it...you aren't causing a fuss and maybe she can offer some advice/help.
I'm finding that I have to eat every couple of hours or I'm sick, and when I mean have to eat... heaven help them if anyone comes between me and food!

DH: must be a relief for you (and DS) that you have your house back. Sounds like you deserve a medal for patience!

jessddibs · 31/07/2006 15:45

Hi all! Have just been catching up with all your news. I havn't been on for a while 'cause I have been feeling pretty crappy. I have had really bad pains, they feel sharp, like i am being stabbed up my 'privates' with a knife and pain up one side of my little bump. The doc has checked me over and the heart beat seems ok, and a urine sample is ok, so they are not sure whats causing it..it is constant aswel, even through the night, so i am nackered. It hurts more when walking around or standing. I just hope it stops soon, it's starting to get me down. I had a great big row with my sister and i am sure that it was my fault cause i feel so run down... hey ho. Am trying to stay positive and resting as much as possible. I am still heaving in the mornings so feel for the rest of you suffering with sickness.x. I now realise how easy i had it with my last pregnancy!

Hopefully i will be back soon with brighter news.

Hi all hope you are all ok im fine glad the weather is cooler.

Jess I had those pains in my first pg same thing went to midwife and had samples took etc but they couldnt find anything wrong with me it was like stabbing pains in my pubic area sorry to say it dident really get any better I was told to put up with it. Hope it gets better soon.

Well im 17 weeks on thursday and havent felt really any movement my midwife did say on thursday when I went for my appointment though depending on how its laying can affect what movements you feel, I personally think he/she is lazy like mummy

Loubie37 · 31/07/2006 21:02

Uh oh I spoke too soon....I've been feeling VERY sick for most of the afternoon I've not been sick but been close to it, I just hope it goes away soon.

Jessddibbs, sorry to hear about the pains, hopefully it's just ligaments stretching? I get the odd twinge, and occasionally take paracetamol which helps.

Mrsworry - it could be your hormones - I've hardly stopped crying since Alice Dingle died on Emmerdale, and that was 2 hours ago! The slightest thing sets me off at the mo. I feel quite down sometimes about how tired I feel and all the worry re the bleeding, and then I feel guilty because of everything we went through to actually get pg. It's a difficult and sometimes confusing time, and it's natural that your not going to be on cloud 9 for the whole 9 months. That's what I keep telling myself, anyway

Jess, I have been having really sharp pains where I imagine my cervix is. When carrying my DS, if I put his weight on my bump, I get a really sharp pain where the baby must be, almost as if it has really kicked me but it must be too small for it to hurt so much. Mentioned pains to my midwife at the start of preg but she just said the classic 'stretching' theory as I hadn't had any bleeding. Haven't told anyone since as it it not all the time like yours but now wondering if I should.

jessddibs · 01/08/2006 11:08

Thank you everyone for your messages, it has really helped to know that others have felt this to. it is worse when i try and lift/move the slightest thing, so am trying to chill as much as poss.!?!

I have also felt quite down in the dumps, but i think this pain thing is getting to me, i must say though in my first pregnancy i was phsyco! I really did lose the plot over everything. I was even known to throw glasses at my dh if he was 2 mins late home!! and he used to come in other nights to find me sobbing like a baby lying on the floor refusing to move!!!! Mental. I do not feel like that at the mo, so hopefully this time will be calmer...

Well, dd is waiting to start modeling the playdough with me so had better go create!

thanks all.x.

I'm sick of pregnancy insomnia
I'm sick of pregnancy insomnia
I'm sick of pregnancy insomnia
I'm sick of pregnancy insomnia

Anyone guess what my beef is today?!!

Jessddibs hope you feel better soon, hard to take it easy with a dd I guess.
Loubie hope the sickness is just a final fling before it goes for good [hopeful emoticon!]

Loubie37 · 01/08/2006 15:36

I've had my first appointment with the midwife at our GP's today and when she asked how I was feeling I almost cried and ended up letting it all out about how worried I've been with all the bleeding etc and how I'm not able to enjoy being pg. She was really nice and has arranged for one of the community midwives to come see me on Sunday or Monday at home so I can have longer to talk through it then the 5 minutes appt I had today.

Otherwise everything is good - we heard the baby's hb which was lovely and nearly set me off again!

I'm so jealous of people who sail through their pregnancies with no worries - I want to be like that!!

Big hugs to everyone else, especially those feeling down (((hugs)))

I feel a bit glum after reading some of the recent messages, but hopefully this will cheer you all up.

I got my results back from the amnio today and they are all OK although I cried constantly for about 15 minutes after ???

Looks like we'll be telling everyone very soon now.

I also know what I am having....... anybody want to know ?????

becks5109 · 01/08/2006 17:28

Oh Loubie - poor old you, it must be such a worry the whole time. I'm sure statistically though that past 12 weeks the chances of anything going wrong and really small. I think it great that the midwives are going to have a proper chat with you as they will have lots of words of wisdom to reassure you. I'm sure it'll get easier once you get to feel the baby moving regularly too. I am full of anxieties as well as had my 12 week scan and now don't see them till my 20 week scan - would love to hear the heartbeat for some reassurance.

Coffebeanz - go on spills the beans and tell us which flavour you're having! My guess is you're having a boy! I'm convinced I'm having another girl and my bump seems to be massive already despite me promising myself I wouldn't get huge this time as last time I put on way too much weight!

Loubie37 · 01/08/2006 18:30

Ooh yes please coffeebeanz!! Sorry for posting such a glum post earlier, I've cheered myself up since having a look at the few baby things we've bought

I'm hoping I'll sleep better tonight as I'm actually quite chilly today! It will do me the world of good if I do - I bet I haven't slept more than a couple of hours in one stretch for weeks now.

It's chucking it down again - unfortunately our conservatory is up....but has no glass or roof yet so it's looking more like an indoor swimming pool!!!

katierocket · 01/08/2006 19:34

hello everyone

jessddibs - I have heard that those sorts of pain can be fairly common (although obivously pretty unpleasant by the sound of it). Hope it settles down soon.

Coffebeanz - congratulations glad to hear your news

I have been suffering with horrendous headaches where I feel my head is going to explode. Plus still have problem with back (long dull story but have siatica (sp?) type pains that are frequently so bad I can't walk). Anyway, going to midwife on Thursday which I'm looking forward to as she'll hopefully be listening to the heartbeat and I can bore her with my various ailments!

16 weeks

jessddibs · 01/08/2006 20:17

Go one coffeebeanz tell us!!!!!!!!!

elliepippamummy · 01/08/2006 20:31

Coffebeanz where have you gone I want to know what youare having I think you are the first to know!! We are still umming & arring whethe to find out this time thnk we may lave it as a surprise especally as having elective c section again.

Got my appt with midwife tomorrow looking forward to hearing heartbeat as had loads of movement on sunday and only a little bit last night & today so some reassurance will be lovely hooefully get results from my amino bloods as well, assuming they were okay as they sad they would ring if not DD was 1 in 27000 so those sorts of ods would be nice!

elliepippamummy · 01/08/2006 20:34

aaargh my spelling was awful in the last post sorry!! Just looking at number of posts on this thead may have to start part 3 soon what does anyone else think?

Dragonhart · 01/08/2006 21:43

Glad you had good news coffeebenz. How exciting knowing what you are going to have already. TELL US!!

Loubie, having read quite alot of threads on MN (esp this one!) not sure that anyone 'sails through"!! just think that some people are better at hiding it than us! I know that last time when I was feeling sweaty, fat and an emotional wreak last time lots of people said I was 'blooming' and asked me how I was feeling. I said I was well and I am sure that most people believed me! Glad you have cheared up a bit though.

Katie rocket, I had terrible trouble with migraines in my last preg. I think I get them with hormones as had them while preg, after had DS and when I stopped BF. Since morning sickness has gone I seem to have been migraine free so fingers crossed. SO horrible to have such bad headaches and must be worse for you as you have back problems too. Hope they go soon.

I have an appt with eye woman at the hospital for my DS as they think he might have a slight squint. So worried about him as they have to put drops in his eyes and then do an eye test (not sure how they do that as he is only just 1!). Not even sure what they would do if they found he did but I suppose that it is better to find it and treat it as soon as pos. So worried about it though

Loubie37 · 02/08/2006 10:33

Aaaaarrrggghhhh!! I guess I won't be wearing this t shirt again (it used to be quite loose on me) ....someone's just asked me how long I've got left!! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry (I don't think he did either when I said I'm not due till January!!)

At least I must look pg now instead of just fatter.....

trying desperately to console myself

huge loubie
I'm sure you look lovely

Loubie37 · 02/08/2006 11:00

LOL I guess I've always been very sensitive about my size and how I look! I ordered loads of maternity clothes from the Next sale and every time something arrives I try it on and quiz Matt about whether whatever it is I've got on makes me look fatter or pregnant So far so good, I've kept everything, I think there's only 3 things left to arrive now, 2 pairs of jeans and a beach skirt (whatever that is!)

Good luck with your son's eye appointment Dragonhart, hope it goes well
