Loubie so sorry to hear that the bleeding is back again. Take it easy petal, and put your feet up in this heat.

ELM · 27/07/2006 09:34

Morning everyone..had hardly any sleep last night, stayed up watching fantastic thundestorm!

How are you this morning Loubie?

Loubie37 · 27/07/2006 10:38

I'm tired!! I hate thunderstorms, they scare me to death and we had one that went on from 2am - 5am, I didn't sleep a wink!! For some reason when it's thundering I have to be fully covered up in bed, I feel too insecure half covered up like I am normally, so as well as being scared I was also morking too (I made DH shut the windows when it started!) So I'm knackered today, it's a good job I'm having a lazy day today!

As for the bleeding, it's weird this, it stopped more or less as quick as it started. I got the shock of my life when I went to the loo at lunch time and saw all the blood (there was more than I've had before) but by mid afternoon there was no sign at all, not even brown stuff. I'm wondering now if it was a burst blood vessel or something? A bit like a nose bleed but down below?! So I'm much happier today, although I'm still going to take it easy until after my scan, just in case

Luckily I've got loads of epidodes of 'Lost' to catch up on which are hogging the planner on Sky+ so I'm going to get some of those watched today

Hope everyone else is well (LTH are you OK, not seen you around for a while??)

Loubie xx

great news Loubie you must be so relieved!!

I think LTH said she was away on holiday this week?

katierocket · 27/07/2006 15:46

Sounds like good news Loubie. Let us know how you get on tomorrow.

laughalot · 27/07/2006 16:47

Hi guys hope you are all ok loubie hope you everything is ok. Well I had my blood taken today for downs and spina bifida so hopefully all willbe ok with those results. I heard babies heartbeat which nearly made me cry also midwife said it wasquiet fast which usually means its a girl so we shall wait and see.....

elliepippamummy · 27/07/2006 17:02

Laughalot I had my quads blood done today as well DD was most interested in the whole thing and held her arm out to have hers taken!! Loubie hpe all goes okay I think you're going to be one of those people who bleed throughout. Well I am very jealous of al of you who have had storms I live in Kent and we had 10 minuts of drizzle last night & 2 minutes of rain today so still really humid and horrible. Hoping it chucks it down tonight & tomorrow as we're going to a wedding on sat and feel really sorry for the wbride & groom if its to hot (also nightmare for me & dd too!!!)

Loubie37 · 27/07/2006 18:53

Don't be jealous - we had thunder yesterday morning, for 3 hours in the middle of the night, and there's been a few rumbles today too, but it's still unbearably hot and sticky!!! It's looking a bit black again now, in fact it's just started to rain again but I doubt it will be any fresher - roll on winter

Hattie2 · 27/07/2006 21:57

We had about an hour of torrential rain here tonight and thankfully it is quite a lot cooler now. Good luck for tomorrow Loubie

katierocket · 28/07/2006 09:29

good luck today Loubie

becks5109 · 28/07/2006 11:12

good luck Loubie - i'm sure all will be fine and it'll be a lovely chance to see the baby again. Thinking of you today

Loubie37 · 28/07/2006 11:19

All is well Big sigh of relief

It seems my placenta may be low lying, I asked how that could be when it appeared fine at my 12 week scan and my nuchal scan and apparently mine has grown rather a lot (it looked huge on the scan!) so one of the outside edges is now a bit low. They're going to review it at my 20 week scan and if it still looks low book me in for another at 32 weeks.

I feel so relieved - at least there's a reason for the bleeding this time, which makes me feel less of a fraud

Thanks everyone for your advice and kind words

PS Got another scan piccie, this time with mm with his/her hands up near his/her face

elliepippamummy · 28/07/2006 12:00

Loubie fantastic news sooo pleased for you my friend had a low lying placenta and had bleeding on and off so that makes sense (although hers never moved and ended up with elective section at 38 weeks but main thing was she and baby were fine)

Dragonhart · 28/07/2006 12:17

Glad all is well Loubie and welcome to all the newcomers.

Not been on for a few days as it was DS 1st birthday on wed and all was chaotic!

Also, I AM GOING MAD WITH INLAWS!!!! Have MIL, FIL, SIL and her ds (who is 2 1/2) and actually MIL and FIL are not causing a prob it is SIL and her child!!! No-on seems to tell him off and he spends the whole time with his bottle in his mouth, apparently because he is 'away from home and unsettled' (sorry to anyone with a 2 year old with a bottle but he cant speak properly because he suck it like a dummy!). He kept trying to take my ds's presents off him or push him off the way and now has stolen ds's new push along truck and is running everyone's feet over with it (which is VERY painful) and ofcourse not getting told off for it by anyone but me or DH. I dont want to interfere with someone else's child but I am sick of it now. DS has not been able to go in the paddling pool even though it is boiling hot because ben keeps spashing him really hard and scaring him (ds is not a woose but scared of nearly drowning!!) and she doesn't say anything because 'he doesn't understand"!!!!!

I do realise that SIL is on her own and MIL and FIL do alot for her so are like extra parents and he gets jealous of any attention that MIL gives my ds because of that. And that he is acting naturally for a boy who is not used to sharing anything, dont get me wrong but it is the fact that he does not get told off for it or even told it is wrong. Dont really get on very well with my SIL as she acts like an 18 year old and it over 30 and she is always shouting at everyone. Fed up with then both so role on sun when they are leaving and I can relax a bit.

Sorry, had my rant now. Feeling more relaxed! They have gone to the park with him now and unfortunatly there was no room for me and ds (thank goodness!!) so have some peace.

Had a hospital appt yesterday and the consultant said she would suggest I had a cesarean as I had a3 degree tear last time, had some problems since and as they are pretty close. Told me that they do it at 39 weeks and as my date from scan is 10th,will be the week befroe.

Got to go, they are back!!

katierocket · 28/07/2006 16:29

great news loubie

trinityrhino · 28/07/2006 16:34

so pleased that everything is ok loubie

Hattie2 · 28/07/2006 18:34

Great news Loubie

Dragonhart - hope the weekend isn't too painful.

saltcod · 29/07/2006 11:36

Glad it was good news for you, Loubie.

Sorry to hear about your inlaws, Dragonhart. Can you imagine what her DS will be like as a teenager ? She's making a rod for her own back there. I used to get on great with my MIL - Our dd was the 1st grandchild - but now that my SIL has had her 1st child, my MIL didn't even bother coming to see dd on her birthday - for the first time in 5 years. Spends all her time cooing over her "newer" grandson instead..... didn't miss his birthday last week either, even though it's twice as far to travel. Poor dd was really upset at not seeing them

Has anyone seen their bump move/kick yet? I've had "squirming" movements for a few weeks now & spent an hour in the bath this morning hoping to see my belly move, but no joy yet. Hopefully won't be too much longer now

magnolia1 · 29/07/2006 11:42

Excellent news loubie

Dragonheart, doesn't sound like much fun for you at the moment

Everything here is fine, my birthday today and I feel like a bag of shit Have a cold AGAIN!!!! Kids fighting, house a mess and Dh has decided today is the day to sort the garden and go to the dump

Bump isgetting huge and baby moving a lot now I saw my tummy move for the 1st time yesterday but I am a few weeks ahead of some of you so yours will start to jump soon I am sure

Happy birthday, magnolia! Sorry to hear you're not having the greatest of days. But I bet it was so cool seeing your bump move for the first time ..... I can't wait!

Good grief, Magnolia, I was just reading your entry (hope you're feeling better soon BTW), and it struck me that, at 19+1, you're nearly halfway already! I know I'm a bit behind (14+6 - to be confirmed at scan next week), but even so, doesn't it feel like it's just zooming past?! January still feels like a long way off, but I think it's going to be here before I know it!

Loubie37 · 29/07/2006 15:31

Thanks everyone

Saltcod - when did you first start feeling movements? A couple of weeks ago I thought I felt baby move, but it's not happened since so I'm now thinking it was something else....I can't wait to start feeling movements regularly, at least I'll feel properly pg then, at the moment I feel like I'm in limbo land - neither looking nor feeling pg!! Also, can't believe your DD is now 'out of favour' with her grandma, that must be hard for her.

Magnolia - Happy Birthday!! I can't believe you're nearly half way already!! It seems strange to think that we go on holiday 3 weeks yesterday and by the time we come back I'll be 20 weeks!

Dragonhart - sorry to hear the in laws are causing you grief, I think it's something most of us can relate to to some extent, so you have my full sympathy!!

How's everyone else coping with this damn heat??!! It's supposed to be a lot cooler and fresher next week, bring it on! It's taken me 2 days sorting out the spare room (soon to be nursery!), normally it would have taken half the time, but I have to keep stopping and sitting in front of a fan to cool down grrrr...

Talking of nurseries, does anyone know what 'theme' they're having already? (or what have you got already?) I'd really like a Winnie the Pooh nursery, I'm waiting for the new Mothercare catalogue to come out to see if the range has changed - I quite like the current one so I'm hoping it hasn't!

Oh, I got another bargain the other day....we bought a baby swing 2nd hand out of the For Sale column in the local newspaper - it's a Fisher Price folding one, like new, and it only cost us £20!!

Anyway, the washing/hoovering/dusting/god knows what else is waiting to be done Will catch up with you all later

15 weks today

theUrbanDryad · 29/07/2006 19:46

hi everyone - hope your weekend's are all ok. i've been at my parents' cause it's my mum's birthday today which meant a small gathering at their house; cue lots of family friends trying to touch the bump etc...grr. still, i feel i've dealt quite well with the same questions being asked over and over. except for the one, "was it planned?" felt like saying, "yes, we shagged six times a day!" but of course i didn't. i'm too damn polite, that's my problem! as for movement, not felt too much yet, just a bit of fluttering, although it seems to like doing somersaults when i'm trying to go to sleep! still, it's all good practice i suppose. also still trying to organise wedding...we've kinda decided to elope to gretna green, but looking online it's a lot more expensive than we'd thought, so might have to ask the 'rents for help after all. grrr...there goes our plan for coming home one weekend and going, "ok, we're married now!"

saltcod · 29/07/2006 23:09

Evening everyone......

baby has been very lively tonight.... the most I've felt him/her move. Lots of flutterings & niggly "prods".

Loubie - started feeling "movement" at about 13 weeks (ish) but could go for days without anything, so would think it was just my imagination sometimes. It's only this last week where it's definitely baby moving & not just me assuming it was! Funny to think that in another couple of months we'll probably be moaning about our babies' kicking keeping us awake etc

TUD - the "was it planned" question really makes me cross..... it's like you're being asked to account for your sex life or something! Think you're showing remarkable restraint - far better than me!

Hope everyone's having a great weekend, Iona x

Loubie37 · 30/07/2006 10:17

Thanks for that Saltcod - maybe it was the baby I felt moving afterall then! I agree too re the 'was it planned' question...I've lost count of the number of people who've asked me that, how dare they assume that because I'm an older mum and have 2 teenagers that this one is an accident?! I just smile sweetly and say 'no actually, it was 2 years of trying and fertility treatment that got us to this stage' That soon shuts them up!

It's much fresher today, I hope it stays like it! We've got to tidy the garden up and finish off the greenhouse today as the conservatory men will be back tomorrow to finish off (all we've got so far is the dwarf wall and concrete base!) so everything needs to be out the way for them, so I guess we'll be busy....

Hope everyone else is OK
