I haven't found a Feb 2007 thread yet so thought I'd start one. Just found out I was pregnant on Monday so it is very early days still - but so exciting nonetheless. The due date calculators generally say I am due on 1 Feb, with on churning out 31 Jan and another 4 Feb. I thought it was more like 15 Feb but I will find our more at my first doctor's appointment on 15 June.

My stats:
me 28
dh 35
first baby
due 31/01 or 1/02 or 4/02 or 15/02 ???? (take your pick!)

Anyone want to join me?

Maazaa, you can eat prawns as long as they're properly cooked.

MrsJohnCusack · 21/06/2006 22:28

hi - I was arfy, I've changed my name....

Rachee, I'm so sorry - horrid news

Can I just ask how it's possible I feel so crap. I'm not even quite 5 weeks yet, but I just want to lie on my sofa and whimper.
I don't remember feeling this bad so early last time - and definitely not so sick. Harrumph

suzi2 · 21/06/2006 22:40

Mrsjohn - I felt crap at just past 4 wks. But it passed. I think it was the initial hormone change. it's working it's way back again now though I think.

Or you could be having multiples???

Uki · 22/06/2006 02:44

Oh Rachee -take care, it feels very unfair and sad I know. Be positive- It will all work out.

Hi to everyone else. I feel I am just hanging in myself every little thing i do i worry, I sprayed some aerosols yesterday and now paranoid i'll misscarry. I haven't told anyone and i'm finding that hard too.

I haven't given stats yet.
me 31
dh 35
ds 1
due 16/2 my dh's b'day and 16 is our lucky number as i am 16 too, and ds nearly was 14.

Teabelly we live in syd but are moving west of syd to past the blue mountains soon.

franky07 · 22/06/2006 10:21

Morning Ladies!! how are we all this morning?, i had my doctor appointment lnite and got my first midwife appointment 1st july. I forgot to give my stats:

ME 25
DP 24
First baby
due 18th feb 07

babydriver · 22/06/2006 12:37

Hi folks. Since you ask franky, feeling marginally better today, and yesterday too for that matter.

As it happens, I had just said to DH last night that I was feeling a bit less bad whilst I was reading the NCT book on food I got last time round, and then I turned to the page about zinc rich foods. On Tues night I had lamb bolognese (I know it should have been beef to be authentic!) and last night I had a salad which included sardines and chickpeas. All these things are meant to be rich in zinc so maybe for me at least there's something in the link between zinc deficiency and morning (frankly all day) sickess.

Still feeling chronically hungry and bloated tho'. Plus I have a really annoying cough which I'm finally going to the doc's about tomorrow even though I know he won't be able to give me anything.

On the nuts question maazaa, depends how much of a history of allergies there is with you and your partner and close family. If lots, then I'd avoid completely, partic if one is a peanut allergy. But peanuts are a completely different type of nut to others (they grow in the ground not on trees) so if allergy history isn't too bad then I think non-peanuts prob OK.

Oops, sorry for long post! Getting carried away...

peachygirl · 22/06/2006 13:14

HI all, comiserations to Morning Sickness ladies I'm not too bad at the moment. feeling a bit of a bloaty fish at the moment. I have ahd a few crampy pains too and that has made me a little worried.
One of my classroom assistants is also pg at the moment (due jan) everyone knows about her even though she is going for her 12 week scan next week. It's all quite nice but I do feel a bit of prssure about everything, she was going on and on about getting new mothercare catalogues and the boots club thing. I just want to get to do all these things in my own time.

babydriver · 22/06/2006 15:00

hi peachygirl. know what you mean about the pressure to suddenly become an expert in everything, and to buy, buy, buy... Resist all you can! Virtually nothing is essential for day one, lots can be begged, borrowed or bought secondhand if need be, and there are loads of MN experts to help you choose the few things you do need. We didn't get anything for DS until I was about 6months pg.

maazaa · 22/06/2006 15:11

Someone give me a kick up the proverbial!!! I should be working and just cannot be bothered! So sleepy - just want a nap!!! Having the weirdest sensations inside at times - not like period pains but something deep inside going on, just noticeable and then away again. Gets worse when i've eaten, so i guess is just body parts squishing up. Boobs still sore but no nausea. Hope things are well with the chickpea.

You're a teacher, too, aren't you Peachy? I am sure people look at me and know. I have told my management and two others who are just nice supportive types.

Was reading a thread on babycentre (though have only lurked and posted) where they are doing a loo roll test to see how many sheets round their belly is. I am sure I would win - i know it's impossible to be "showing" but I am a pot bellied flobby bird at the moment! Always had a bit of tummy as not a sveltester but my trousers won't do up!

lilymum · 22/06/2006 17:52

Feel so ill, and very sorry for myself. Couldn't face eating this morning, managed some lunch as I was out and someone else had prepared it, and just made beans on toast for the children for tea - sorry Jamie Oliver, hardly nutritious, but can't face any major food preparation.

Bedroom smelt mysteriously of garlic when I woke up this morning and sent me running to the loo to throw up.

All feels horribly familiar, this is what happened last time with ds and just couldn't face food at all, and made myself quite poorly in the end.

maazaa, was very good at avoiding all the "bad" foods when pg for 1st time, but got less fussed with each pregnancy. I tend to eat what I crave for at this stage, and it changes every day. No way I could face stilton today...

teabags · 22/06/2006 18:11

So I'm not the only one feeling cr*p! No sickness but I am so tired and just can't bring myself to eat anything. I ate like a horse with my previous pregnancy. Waiting for dh to come home and cook dinner. I think it's the actual food prep I can't stand. bleurgh!

titchy77 · 22/06/2006 19:26

I dont think i've given my stats either!!!
ME 29
DP 25
DS 8
baby due 15/02/07

sorkycake · 22/06/2006 22:53

Hi Gals,
My Dh is going away on a course for work for a week, Eek! He's not taking the kids with him...what will I do?
It's quite possible I'll have either sold them or they'll have starved by the time he gets back.
I too was v.good Maaza at avoiding all they bad for you foods with my first and like Lilysmum have disregarded all the advice and will eat whatever I feel like by this third pg. Had dippy eggs yesterday and licked my fingers clean Couldn't look at eggs today though, blurggh!
My belly is huge and I'm constipated too (?tmi). This is almost as bad as feeling sick as I'm pretty skinny normally, so not really feeling great image wise. I had to tell people for this reason mainly, because they'd have noticed straightaway. Cadbury I run a toddler group as well, exhausting isn't it?
Does anyone want to volunteer to have my kids for a week while I sleep, they are angels I promise

flowertot · 23/06/2006 07:22

Hi everyone. Haven't been here for a few days, missed so much chat!
I am about 5-6 weeks and am exhausted and bloated too. When I was pregnant with DD1 I didn't even know at this stage so the feelings are so much worse this time around. GOing to a Ball tomorrow night and don't know how I am going to stay awake! Will have to have afternoon naps on Sat and Sun I guess.
Very interesting Maaza aboutb the fake tan, had forgotten that and was due for a spray tan today. Eek I will have to cancel and go for pale and interesting look instead.

bigsurprise · 23/06/2006 11:22

Hi everyone. I am so flippin knacked, all I want to do is sleep. I feel like I am drugged, this is musch worse that previous pregnancies.

Today I am mostly craving cheese, salad, cheese, baked potatoes and more cheese! That'll pile the weight on then .

I have asked my gp to refer me to for lots of tests at the fetal medicine centre. I had a nuchal scan here in Bournemouth last time (with dd) and it was awful, the sonographer was horrible.

monkhouse · 23/06/2006 12:27

Hello all! I've been lurking for a while and this is my first tentative post

I got my BFP last Saturday but it was a couple of days before AF was due, so I've been feeling really cautious, and trying not to get too excited.

I was getting a bit of cramping at the beginning of the week, which was worrying, but it seems to have passed. I'm now officially late and my temps have been high for 18 days, so it's becoming a bit more believable!

My stats are:
Me 31
DH 30
1st pregnancy
due 26 Feb (according to online thingy)

Really looking forward to chatting, and congratulations to everybody!

titchy77 · 23/06/2006 12:52

Congratulations monkhouse!!

franky07 · 23/06/2006 14:26

Comgratulations Monkhouse!! How you feelin?

titchy77 · 23/06/2006 14:28

i rang the epu to see if i was able to have an early scan and she said to go to my gp and ask him to send me for a reassurance scan, which i did and they have rang to say i have one on monday which was quick. I'm quite scared as when i was pregnant before my scan reveled the baby had died 4wks previously. I think i will be worried all the way through this pregnancy, not sleeping to well either as keep waking thinking i'm bleeding and having bad dreams so am feeling totally shattered!!

maazaa · 23/06/2006 14:44

congrats Monkhouse! hope you are feeling ok!!!

Oh dear, work will hate me......felt soooooo sick this morning. All i wanted last night was curry, so dh ordered takeaway for me (indeed, i am so lazy that he cooked himself pasta and rang the curry place for me). The remnants were left in bowl this morning - not nice to face at 7.30 - thought i would hurl, then got to work, sipped water, went to loos, 5 times thinking i would hurl, before bursting into tears on boss and going home. i am so pathetic! been asleep since and had weird dream about writing a book and a girl who used to be in hollyoaks having triplets.

trying to summon up energy to drive to cousin's hen do, an hour and a half away.....feel bleurgh!!!

did pregnancy test today. still am and line was very firm. someone save me from self!!!

maazaa · 23/06/2006 14:46

Hope you scan goes ok Titchy. Maybe it will put your mind at rest and you will chill which will be better for your bump anyway. Let us know how it goes....will be rooting for you.

soundbites · 23/06/2006 15:25

Congratulations Monkhouse.

There are a few of us who are first time mums-to-be - me, Maazaa and Franky07 I think (have I missed anyone?). I had what felt like period pains at the time my first missed period ought to have been due and others have reported this too.

I am hoping that the midwife will get in touch soon. I saw the doctor last Thursday and she said that I would hear from the midwife but not a peep yet. The info pack she gave me prepared by the midwife had a form to fill in though and instructions on the form to call for a 40min appmt so I am hoping I didn't get things confused!

Have a good weekend all of you!

Hi soundbites....maybe you should chivvy the surgery up? Mind you, when I rang the doctor's, they said a clerk to the health visitors would call. She did the next day and my appointment was booked in for 3 weeks later- tis next thursday.

soundbites · 23/06/2006 16:58

Just called the surgery, Maazaa. They looked up my notes and says the doctor's referral has gone through so I should hear from the midwife v. soon. Thanks for getting me to make the call - I feel better with the reassurance.

Can't wait to go home ... felt a little queasy pretty much all week. Tuesday was a really bad day, and I have thrown up every morning except this morning this week, but think I am learning how to deal with things now. The weekend will be a relief though!
