I haven't found a Feb 2007 thread yet so thought I'd start one. Just found out I was pregnant on Monday so it is very early days still - but so exciting nonetheless. The due date calculators generally say I am due on 1 Feb, with on churning out 31 Jan and another 4 Feb. I thought it was more like 15 Feb but I will find our more at my first doctor's appointment on 15 June.

My stats:
me 28
dh 35
first baby
due 31/01 or 1/02 or 4/02 or 15/02 ???? (take your pick!)

Anyone want to join me?

Congratulations and welcome Monkhouse
Soundbites I'm a first timer too!
Things fine with me feeling quite well really I think lots will kick in next week (week 6) I have a visit to a farm on friday and I am not relishing the thought of all the smells!
I've spoken to the doctor and have an appointment at my surgery to do all my paperwork next wednesday. I have various concerns really the family thing is the big one but we are also going on a big holiday when I will be about 13/14 weeks so it is important to me to have my scan before then. I would be happy to pay for it to be in weeek 11 but hopefully this won't be the case.
The issues at school have got bigger my PG LSA went to see the midwife yesterday and told them we had a child in school with chicken pox. There are some concerns about her due to 'slapped cheek syndrome'around her time of conception and the midwife told her not to come into school for a week! !
Now, I went into school today ... the child in question is
not in my class
not in my building
not in the playground where my kids play
not on the dinner sitting I supervise and does not sit anywhere near me in assembly

I think it's a bit of an over reaction (I would be interested to see what you all think)
The head and deputy are fuming!
sorry it's a long one

soundbites · 23/06/2006 17:20

Sorry Peachygirl, didn't realise you were 1st time too! My doctor said my scan would be at week 11 (I am at 8+1 now) so you might be alright with your timing? The reaction to the chicken pox does seem a bit extreme, but I suppose noone wants to be held responsible for something going wrong / giving wrong advice / not taking the right precautions.

Peachy my 2 have both had chicken pox during this pg, it's rife around our area atm. Nothing to worry about if you've already had chicken pox yourself. Even if you haven't and you do get the spots, there is little chance the bubba will be harmed and little intervention they can give, so says my midwife. I'd say it's an overeaction. Measles however is a different kettle of fish.

cadbury · 24/06/2006 13:08

peachygirl - I wondered if you had been warned about touching the animals at the farm - there is a risk of toxoplasmosis (I think especially from sheep but I can't be sure that other animals aren't included too). You will be fine to be there, just don't touch the sheep especially and wash your hands thoroughly - you proabably knew that but I thought I'd mention it.

cadbury · 24/06/2006 13:12

Also peachygirl - I was teaching when pg with my dd - I had a similar situation over chicken pox. I checked with my midwife and she said that as I had already had it and as I wasn't going to be in direct contact with said child, there was no need for me to have any special working arrangements.

Teaching a morning sickness don't really mix - I would have to run out half way through taking the register to be sick in the nearest loos - sadly these were the gents loos and stank to hight heaven so it really didn't help the nausea! Happy days!

peachygirl · 24/06/2006 20:21

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!!
I have had chicken pox already (and so has my LSA who has now been singed off by the doctor awiting blood test results, in fact she has had it twice!!!)
Thanks cadbury I did know about farms and especially the sheep It's not really lambing season but I will steer clear of the sheep because there are chances of miscarrage if you come into contact with lambing ewes. You never know about lambs at these farms as they sometines have them all year around I am going to be very careful lots of washing, this farm is very good and has taps + soap at regular intervals. I thought I might get some of that anibacterial hand wiping stuff too (wasn't there a thread making fun of it a while ago?)
I have a loo right next to my classroom which is lucky and always at least one other adult so the kids wouldn't be left alone!

MaybeBaba · 25/06/2006 20:37

Hi can I join in! Just found out and have been reading this for the past few days so feel like I 'know'you all!! Due on 27th eb (day after dd's bday!!). Feel huge and bloated and in need of clothes that fit and also very tired!

maazaa · 25/06/2006 20:44

Hello Maybe! Welcome and congrats! Indeed you are in the right place for bloated and tired ladies!!!

swift1 · 25/06/2006 21:17

Hello everyone...

I have just found out I am due approx 23rd Feb, after trying since October, and having a pos mc in November.

Stats;

Im 30

dh 33

2nd baby

dd 2

2dsk 10 and 8

due 23rd

Havent been to docs yet to confirm as I am only just over 5 weeks and am worried this one might not stay there yet, so I'll wait a few weeks .

Am over the moon, but trying not to get too excited just yet, hopefully I will still be around in a few weeks and then can really join in properly.

flowertot · 26/06/2006 08:26

Welcome swift1. Congrats. Know how you feel about not getting too excited. I haven't had a m/c before, but am trying to just quietly get to 12 or so weeks before I let the news really sink in. Must be extra hard for you, but good luck and welcome to the thread

TuttiFrutti · 26/06/2006 09:47

Welcome swift1 and maybebaba! What are your stats maybebaba?

I'm feeling the same as you, flowertot and swift1, about not counting my chickens at the moment. I have a higher risk of miscarriage anyway because of my age (39) and because I have fibroids. So keeping my fingers crossed and counting the days till I can feel a bit more secure...

soundbites · 26/06/2006 09:49

Good morning ladies! Welcome to the new-comers.

I went into M&S on Saturday thinking I ought to get fitted for some new bras now that I am getting a bit bigger and the assistants there were scandalised that I was still wearing underwire bras. Apparently they can affect the development of cartilage (?). I feel a bit stupid not knowing this - is this normally common knowledge? I've switched to non-wired straight away and hope nothing too untoward has happened!

OP posts:
Lucyb9384 · 26/06/2006 10:24

hi Soundbites - personally i think thats utter rubbish i wore under wired bras when i was pregnant with DD and nothing untoward happened and i'm still wearing them now. i actually even wore them a bit when i was breast feeding i think. So don't panic!

Rubymummy · 26/06/2006 10:30

hi all. Got BFP today!!!!
DH2B doesn't know yet. Am shaking like a leaf. guess due end feb 07 but only had 2 cycles of about 45 days since finsihing bf so goodness knows! there will be 20 mths between dd and db2! I must be mad. But deleriously happy!

soundbites · 26/06/2006 10:49

Congratulations and welcome Rubymummy! How exciting!

Congratulations RubyMummy !!!!!! When are you going to tell DH2B?

franky07 · 26/06/2006 11:47

congratulations Rubymummy and welcome!! Wot date du you think you are due?

peachygirl · 26/06/2006 13:05

Congratulations Ruby mummy, swift1 and ,maybebaba.
I'm still wearing under wired bras at themoment. I haven't seen my boobs get much bigger and thought I'd wait a little while longer. someone on another thread was saying that H and M do nice coloured ones so I thought I might look there.
I have been feeling a little queasy today but no sickness yet. I'm 6 weeks today but trying to take it all one day at a time.
I'm still astounded by all the CM how long does this go on for? I do go to the loo to check it isn't something else.

soundbites · 26/06/2006 13:36

Hi Peachygirl - have you actually been told not to wear underwired? Might have a look at the pretty, colourful ones in H&M. THe M&S ones are pretty boring - black or white!

Agree about CM - keep checking in case I'm bleeding. Glad it is not just me ...

My MS started with queasyness at 6 weeks. Actually being sick happened in week 7 but I think everyone is different. My cousin is due in December and wasn't sick at all, lucky thing.

Can I join you all?

Due Feb 23rd...found out a week ago that I was pg again after a m/c in Feb. Thrilled but scared too!

My stats:

me - 33
dh - 32
ds - 2.4yrs
m/c at 15+2 weeks in late Feb. Have been ttc ever since!

Just over 5 weeks and woke up today feeling shocking! Soooooooooo tired, nauseous (not sick yet though), a bit shaky and liable to flip out at anything! (poor dh & ds). Finding the heat hard to bear too. It's so humid!

Looking forward to getting to know all of you over the coming months...

titchy77 · 26/06/2006 17:23

Hi ladies
Congratulations to all you bfp's!!!
Went for my early scan today and saw baby it was lovely, she said there was a strong heartbeat and was in the right place and that it all looked fine, fingers crossed. I'm 6+3 which is what i thought and we have a scan picture which is nice. feeling a bit more relaxed but just cant wait to get to 12 wks.

cadbury · 26/06/2006 17:45

titchy, that's fab - what a relief for you

congrats to our new members - I'm loosing track - there must have been something in the water recently!!! lol

I have to say I am feeling awful today. I have been soooo tired and ds has been a right royal pain today and I haven't been a model parent I'm afraid. Thankgoodness dd has been kind to me! Really want to go to bed and stay there. I don't think that getting soaked through on both school runs has helped much either.

peachygirl · 26/06/2006 17:48

Congratulations weewilliewinkie.
soundbites no-one has specifically told me not to wear underwired but I think it is a generally accepted thing that it is best for your breasts withthem changing all the time, certainly it seems to be the general consensus on mumsnet. I still consider it early days to be buying lots of new stuff!

peachygirl · 26/06/2006 17:48

whoops, sorry titchy, thats great news for you

swift1 · 26/06/2006 20:45

Congratulations titchy77 on your healthy scan.

Last time I was pg m+s advised me to wear the maternity bras as this would also help keep my shape....what rubbish. Before I had two lovely bouncy breasts like tight filled water balloons. Now they are droopy ,as if holding up 2 very full water balloons!!! How depressing!

Can I ask what cm is?
