Can't believe June is here :) will be having a baby this month, oh my god!

Any time you want to make an appearance now baby, would be grand - I think I'm ready to meet you :)

MrsBri · 01/06/2013 09:43

Yep, forget, I'm telling my baby that too.

Wouldn't it be great if labour had a defined way of starting rather than being different all the time? We'd all have a much better idea what was going on then!

RueDeWakening · 01/06/2013 09:52

Morning all Smile sorry I keep disappearing for hours/ days at a time - it's half term, can't wait till Monday! One back to school, one back to preschool... Grin and our cat has been at the vets for a poss broken leg, turns out its "just" an infected bite from fighting, with poss abscess. She's home again now, and dd got to see the X-ray which is her holiday highlight. Bloody pets!

ABs for mastitis do seem to be helping, so that's good - I've not had the shivers since I started taking them. I'm convinced I have a massive difference in supply between right & left though, anyone know if that's possible? I can hear M gulping, swallowing etc on the right and he settles down fairly quickly into that nice rhythmic sucking. Not on the left though - I get lots of fluttery sucks off him, then he has a rest, then repeats. He is getting milk from that side, but I dunno, something seems odd. Any experience? Am planning to ask MWs tomorrow when m gets weighed again.

Red - my DH did skin to skin after my section, it definitely stimulated LO if not me, he about got eaten alive Grin so LO was v ready to latch by the time we were in recovery. Also I hand expressed colostrum before it and my milk came in on day 2, just less than 48 hrs post op (can pinpoint it because I was sat on the hospital bed just sobbing for no reasons!). Maybe try that if you can?

Oli - am hoping that joes op goes/went well, will be thinking of you and him and I'm wishing you a smooth ride through nicu.

Sarah - bummer about the bakery. I'm missing my local bakery atm, we normally visit after playgroup once a week but I can't drive still so can't get there. Not up to superwoman walks either Grin

Sunny (and everyone else wanting to go into labour!) - hope you get the real deal soon!

pinkapples · 01/06/2013 13:43

Good morning June! And what a glorious one it is Grin currently lying in the sun with dogs as dh has gone on his motorbike with his friends for a bit...

I'm in the 'baby you can come now please' camp and will b starting the got curries and stair climbing next week

ginauk84 · 01/06/2013 14:33

Weather isn't that great here in the west midlands - was hoping to do some sunbathing but it's a bit cloudy and there's a cold wind!

I am 37 weeks next Thursday so will be trying all natural methods to try to encourage her to arrive of her own accord. Saying that I am sure from my calcs my due date should be 1st July not they're 27th June.

I've been so greedy this week, don't think I've eaten a single healthy meal - pizzas, subways, chippy teas! Need to go back to eating proper food!

rrreow · 01/06/2013 17:34

rue preference for one boob is quite common and it will affect supply in the other boob. A way of fixing that, if you want to, is simply to offer the less favoured boob more often.

elsabel · 01/06/2013 18:05

Hi everyone hope youre all enjoying the sun, or those who are lucky enough to have some, its got nicr here the past couple of hours.

Ive spoken to midwife a couple of times today about spotting and cramps and she reassured me its ok aslong as not lots of fresh blood, and its probably the show or dilating. Im getting period like pains every half hour now, apparently it could be labour. Does that sound likely? my due date is tomorrow and would be lovely if she was bang on! (But trying not to get my hopes up!)

Steffanoid · 01/06/2013 18:31

happy June everyone, elsabel thats so exciting I hope it is labour, went for monitoring this morning cause I hadn't felt movement since yesterday morning, he's fine, just being a lazy bum! there again im the morning for more ecg monitoring then a scan Monday,

had period pains all day radiating through to my back, did a lot of walking for me yesterday and today, had to sit in the car on the way home with my tens on, come on baby get a shift on!

elsabel · 01/06/2013 18:34

Im glad babe is ok and youre reassured. Eek how exciting we may both be on our way!!!

Hawkmoth · 01/06/2013 18:38

How exciting elsabel! Good luck for them ramping up!

Today one of my FB friends posted a load of stuff they were getting rid of, including a travel system. We were going to manage with a sling and then get a pushchair so as to save money but this one will do from birth to 15kg. It's been in a garage for a while but is in good condition. I'm so grateful.

Plus, since I didn't go to collect it I had one of those wonderful afternoon naps where you wake up an hour and a half later, not knowing where you are covered in creases from the sheets!

SunnyL · 01/06/2013 18:56

Oh jealous now of both Elsa and Steph. DH and I have done our best today to get the blighter out. Nipple tweaking, DTD, raspberry leaf capsules, long dog walk, journey in my Mum's car (who is a bit of a crap driver) aaaaaaaand nothing!

DH took great pleasure in telling me though that his app says the best way of absorbing the hormone in sperm to get things moving is through the gut. Cue a 3 second pause from me as I work out what that means before I wallop him over the head. He says the offer is always there though. Selfless man isn't he?

MrsBri · 01/06/2013 19:04

Sunny, my DH has been telling me that for days. And my mw friend told me the same today. We agreed that sex was preferable. Every 6 hours!

Funny how the blokes find out that info themselves, but not so much about the rest of pregnancy. Then again, my DH knew about perineal massage, so he's clearly been researching!

pinkbear82 · 01/06/2013 19:10

wow looking like June might just be starting with a bang for lots of you!

I too had a nap this afternoon if there was any doubt the dribble everywhere confirmed it!

sunny sounds like your Dh is being totally selfless Wink I'm impressed he's done the research tho!!

spoke to dp today, told him curry, walking and ball bouncing is underway and pineapple arriving in online shopping on Monday. he quickly replied as long as I don't find someone to help with dtd he doesn't mind! Grin

suddenly realised I really haven't been drinking enough the last few days, I'm quite bad normally but know I need to keep the fluids up and need to step it up a bit.

Littlemissexpecting · 01/06/2013 19:11

Hawk I've also had a nap, just woken up! Not sure I'll get any sleep tonight now but I must have needed it!!
How exciting possibly 2 babies soon!
I'm only 1/5 engaged (as of thurs) does anyone know how quickly I can be 5/5? I would love this baby to make an appearance sooner rather than later but can't see that happening somehow. DH wants him to come late as suits him with work etc.

Littlemissexpecting · 01/06/2013 19:13

X post pink bear. I also need to up my fluids, must drink more.....

forgetmenots · 01/06/2013 19:20

Littlemiss I'm not engaged at all and mw said babies can fully engage with no warning - so I'd imagine it can be the same from any fifths!

SunnyL · 01/06/2013 19:20

You know what I hate hate hate the taste of pineapple but told DH I would rather eat an entire pineapple than follow the advice in his app!

Off topic question. I've made a nice v-neck maxi dress to wear to a friends wedding in July. I'm now concerned that all the nursing bras I have will be too high cut and will show. Has anyone seen any decent nursing bras that don't come half way up your neck line? I'm not exactly small in the boobage department 34F before my milk has even come in. Am I on a hiding to nothing?

pinkbear82 · 01/06/2013 19:22

Littlemiss we'll have to keep reminding each other!! wish there was a drink I really enjoyed and could drink loads of, but I'm just not big on anything.

MrsBri · 01/06/2013 19:23

Littlemiss, 1/5 is usually only 1/5 away from full engagement. So you're almost there. Though you can go into labour without being engaged at all.

Same as your waters won't necessarily go and you won't necessarily have a show! Useful, eh?

I've started to dribble in my sleep too. Not good, is it?!

MrsBri · 01/06/2013 19:24

Oh, and re pineapples, you have to eat at least 7 to get what you need to assist. Which will probably give you the runs! :-/

pinkbear82 · 01/06/2013 19:25

not much help sunny but could you have a vest top as back up to wear underneath just in case?
there must be some nice bras out there but I've not found any yet. I do miss a nice looking bra.

MrsBri · 01/06/2013 19:26

No warning, forget? Christ, the lightning crotch from nothing to full would probably send me through the roof! Though maybe that's what they do when they wait til labour. Ouchy!

AlohaMama · 01/06/2013 19:29

Sunny if it's to go over a particular dress you don't necessarily need a nursing bra, just something that is stretchy enough to hoik off. Or one of those soft fabric strapless bras might work, I used to use those all the time particularly with strappy tops as nursing bras always seem to have such thick straps. Strapless bra may not be the most supportive but will be ok for a day.

Exciting Steff and Elsabel. Am watching with interest.....

forgetmenots · 01/06/2013 19:31

Haha! She said literally you'd be contracting and feel a 'lowering'... Think that might be mw chat for 'lightning crotch'!

pinkapples · 01/06/2013 19:40

So jealous I want baby to come so much my family came down today 2x grandmas and grandads in preparation for baby coming their staying 2 weeks so would be a real shame if she didn't come due date in 10 days so fingers crossed! May even have to do THAT deed if that's the best way to absorb! Yup ill do it if it works it'll be worth it
