Pink, without wanting to put you off, you'd need to do THAT deed repeatedly for quite a while to get enough! Enough to probably lead to jaw ache! :-/

Could always alternate with sex!

pinkapples · 01/06/2013 19:56

Yea your probably right mrsbri I'm sure hubby wouldn't complain tho at the size I am I bet he'd take that over sex at the moment

MrsBri · 01/06/2013 19:58

I've been giving sympathy blow jobs the whole pregnancy. We're going to try DTD now :-)

Anyone got any good ideas re positions for the heavily pregnant?!

AlohaMama · 01/06/2013 20:16

We're the opposite MrsBri. I've recently stopped DTD as frankly the contractions afterwards were getting a bit uncomfortable and I didn't want to risk triggering anything too early. Now dh just gets my back as I turn over and pretend to sleep!! But lying on side worked for us, facing each other but kind of lying with heads away to allow room for bump iyswim. Enjoy Wink

Steffanoid · 01/06/2013 20:20

dont get too excited, tens machine did it's job and back pain gone Sad good to know it works though!

oh got very excited, me too, but I think it was just tge walking crippling me, I did tell the woman at triage it'd be funny if I went in cause I was in labour rather than extra monitoring tomorrow, wishful thinking from me - she was quite rough when feeling for babies head, he's also had a movement surge since monitoring this morning, like taunting me!

with your dress if all else fails could you secure it shut a little more with a safety pin? then you could wear the scaffolding bra and nice dress and feel comfy Grin

MrsBri · 01/06/2013 20:26

That's one I had in mind Aloha, thank you :-)

See how it goes!

thedevilisinthedetail · 01/06/2013 21:04

Sex has always made me bleed when I've been pregnant before which is extremely off putting. Nearly at the point of just giving it a go though (always been told bleeding nothing to worry about) as I'm being induced at 39 Weeks on Monday (eeek!) so would like to go spontaneously before then. I had a sweep in Thursday and had a bishop score of 5 and 6+ is supposed to indicate a positive induction potential so fingers crossed the pains (very intermittent) it has bought on are building on that good start!

MrsBri · 01/06/2013 21:07

It'll probably make me bleed too, devil, as my cervix is likely to take offence. But if it works, it's worth it. :-)

Good luck avoiding induction!

Steffanoid · 01/06/2013 21:08

Mrs bri you could try the same idea but you facing away from him, spooning I believe it is called - no need to worry about bump that way Grin

rrreow · 01/06/2013 21:18

I prefer taking my evening primrose capsules over doing THAT deed Wink I really want this baby to come tomorrow and I was hoping we could DTD tonight, but DH has been working all day (on his feet for at least 12 hours) and by the time he's back I doubt he'll have the energy...

The woman from my NCT class last time said that it's the core of the pineapple that you have to eat (basically the tough, flavourless bit), not the juicy outer bit.

Also what is this nice weather and sunshine everyone keeps talking about? Today has been overcast and cold pretty much all day here!

DH very kindly bought me some raspberry cider yesterday, but I didn't fancy it yesterday so I've had a bit with dinner and the rest is beckoning now. I think it's well deserved after a full day avec toddler!

Steffanoid · 01/06/2013 21:46

also told dp how much 'fluid' id have to ingest as he suggested it and he said it made him feel physically sick, think I've got a winner Smile

Sarah2506 · 01/06/2013 21:46

Oh my goodness all this talk of DTD makes me feel queasy! Luckily the last thing either of us want to do right now, would be bad if one did and the other didn't!! Haven't done it in ages actually, months. I've no sex drive at all. Am I the only one?!

redwellybluewelly · 01/06/2013 21:51

Re the pineapples, I tried everything and I do mean everything last time but two pineapples eaten back to vack give CHRONIC heartburn! Was months and months before I could even look at one.

ginauk84 · 01/06/2013 21:53

I have been taking my evening primrose, raspberry leaf tablets, have always eaten pineapple regularly anyway, bounced on my ball and also DTD regularly anyway so there won't be much change for me really.

Hubby would say more of the DTD part but pelvis isn't up to that lol - by the way re positions I found me on edge of bed with hubby kneeling on floor and my legs wrapped round him is most comfortable Wink

Has anyone seen the new baby mugging craze? Well seeing as we don't have a baby yet I mugged the dog lol! Http://teamstokey.blogspot.co.uk

rrreow · 01/06/2013 21:53

I don't feel like it at all either Sarah. Last time was a few months ago.

elsabel · 01/06/2013 21:58

Pains still gone steff ? Hopefully they return soon. Mine are coming around every 13 minutes, been using a contraction timer on my phone! Dp is getting very nervous! The pain is managable at the moment though. I hope this is it!

MrsBri · 01/06/2013 22:00

I haven't done it since October. No desire at all. I probably would have done it, until I had those two bleeds and both of us decided it was simply better not to. Hence the sympathy blow jobs!

Now it's desperate times and I've told him that's what we are doing!

joanna1990marie · 01/06/2013 22:04

There is always the way that doesn't get u pregnant....I had sickness till about 24 weeks so bj was not an option as it would have been my face doin the projectile thing....sorry tmi.I've thought about dtd lately but that's only because I'm 40+2 now! Dp doesn't fancy the idea due to me being absolutely massive!

pinkapples · 01/06/2013 22:06

May try DTD this week is it awful that I just don't feel like it at all av something to do with the fact that I feel gross and huge and horrible all the time but if it will get baby out it'll be worth it

Thanks re positions x

joanna1990marie · 01/06/2013 22:07

Sorry, don't know why it sent that twice, probably for extra embarrassment!

pinkapples · 01/06/2013 22:10

Also haven't done it in ages it's a nightmare I'm really quite scared that I've got used to not doing it I won't want to when baby's here... Ops fully that will change though and it's the huge weight/belly thing that's stopping me

On the subject of weight since we're in June and our baby's are coming!!!! Has anyone started to think about how to lose the baby weight? Sorry throw BiscuitBiscuitif you like

TeaAndCakeOrDeath · 01/06/2013 22:14

Hello! I have been particularly rubbish at posting on here although I have read most of it!

Just a quick one to keep the thread up-to-date but we had a little (well sort of, he was 9lb 2oz!) boy (called Robin) at home at 16.42pm today!

Started with pains about 7am, called the midwife who came at 9am and did a check and said 1-2cm, she went away and i pottered/had a bath etc.

She came back at 12.30pm and did another check and said 2-3cm, and another check at 2pm said I was 4cm. Things then sort of ramped up and I was 10cm at 4.30pm, then my waters went and baby was out in a few pushes at 4.42pm!

Have a tear and a graze so needed to nip to hospital (first class service though! Cannot fault the midwives or nhs here - went in an ambulance with baby to reserved room, stitches done, had tea and toast and then came home again!)

Alls well now, baby asleep and I'm going to catch up on The Voice/BGT!

Hope everyones well, and good luck for the rest of the month! :)

TeaAndCakeOrDeath · 01/06/2013 22:18

Oh, just realised, I may well have been under 'EddieIzzard...' username at the start! :)

rrreow · 01/06/2013 22:21

Wow congrats Tea! Well done and sounds like you had a good experience.

pinkapples Has anyone started to think about how to lose the baby weight? Breastfeeding. I've heard it works for some people and not for others, but for me I went to below pre-preg weight while breastfeeding really easily. And you should've seen the amounts of food I was packing away.
