This baby moves on a three day cycle, manic day/not so manic/quiet/not so manic/manic/not so manic etc etc As always though, change in movements ring to check. DD used to sleep and feed roughly the same way.

Feeling like a very mean mummy tonight, MW told DH it was important I rested so I've retreated to our room and shut the door, DD can't open it. DD will have to go to DH in the spare room if she wakes - she does this anyway but I've been awake between 3-4hrs every night since Sunday with no option for lie ins or naps. I am shattered

Hopefully get some sleep to catch up, sending sleep vibes to everyone

Yea baby is moving lots which is lovely to feel her Grin any ideas whether its a sign she's on her way out? Hopefully so

Lots of BH aswel tonight so that combined might get things going tummy is really tight

pinkapples · 31/05/2013 22:17

Nothin yet red its in the paper so fingers crossed someone knows who it is and phones in as there can't be that many Great Danes in the area

joanna1990marie · 31/05/2013 22:28

My baby changes her patterns daily, I think it depends on how many times I've poked her during the night because I get paranoid if she hasn't moved within the first 5 mins of me being awake! Poor thing, she gets nudged all the time! Some days she thrashes about like a nutter all day and then others she's quiet in the day and has a long energy spurt in the evening, mw said to me all they ask for is 10 movements a day, which I think is shit because she would normally do that many before 8 am! If something doesn't seem right to you just go to triage, I'd rather piss off a busy mw than ignore my instincts.

The 10 movements a day is old guidelines for midwives, my friend told me last weekend. The new guidelines is that they should be telling us to contact them if there's a change in pattern. God knows why that particular guideline wasn't adopted immediately by all midwives.

I also have the morning panic when I'm waiting for Baby B to move! And the other day his movements were really muted for ages. If he hadn't perked up by lunch I was going to call. Luckily he did. Then turned into a nutter!

I'm very conscious of his movement and patterns. I don't count kicks though as he moves so much I can't keep up with him!

learnermummy · 31/05/2013 22:44

Evening all.
Redwelly I hope you do get some rest tonight.
Sarah - pants about your bun Sad.
Pinkapples - glad to hear dog is on the mend.

Mental day here. Not helped by burning my finger really badly on a cup of tea I'd reheated in the microwave - and then dropping and smashing my favourite mug Sad, never mind clearing up the mess! Still, power ranger cake is now complete and downstairs of house is looking presentable to guests tomorrow. Will have to leave the rest til tomorrow as I'm just shattered!

MadameJ · 31/05/2013 22:46

Well still no news really from my dad so sat watching crap tv. Having quite a few uncomfortable pains really low down but im hoping its just the fact I have done too much today rather than labour because with everything thats going on it really would be crap timing, but I suppose baby doesnt need to worry about that!!

learnermummy · 31/05/2013 22:57

Sorry to hear that Madame, hope you get some news soon.

elsabel · 31/05/2013 23:48

Sorry youre having a tough time madame hope things look up soon and your dad is ok Flowers

littlemiss ive had days when baby less active and movements are much different nowerdays, more like wriggles and squirms rather than kicks, which midwife said is normal later on.

hawkmoth did you say your spd had improved since baby had moved further down? I have sciatica but had been better past couple of days and was wondering if it was due to baby moving position (and like everything else im feeling was hoping it may just be a sign of labour coming soon!) Smile

arlandria666 · 01/06/2013 05:45

another night of feeding and expressing feel like a milk machine!
fingers crossed its working...got the midwife coming later but if its anything like the phone call i was due to get yesterday it will never happen!

elsabel · 01/06/2013 07:12

Morning ladies, sorry for tmi but ive been getting brownish/blood when goinf for a wee during the night and the odd period like pain low down. Could this be a show? Its not mucus like. Sorry know thats way to graphic for this time in the morning! But im a first timer!

MrsBri · 01/06/2013 07:26

Your midwives sound quite rubbish, arlandria, but hopefully all of your efforts pay off.

Elsabel, I think you need to call the delivery suite if you have any sort of blood which isn't within mucus, to be honest. You need to see what they say.

elsabel · 01/06/2013 07:49

Thanks mrs bri. Ive called them im monitoring it for an hour then am to call back and be seen if it continues.

MrsBri · 01/06/2013 07:51

I'm glad you've called them. I'm VERY risk averse and am straight on the phone to the team at my hospital if I'm even slightly unsure what's happening. Good luck. :-)

AlohaMama · 01/06/2013 07:56

A bit late catching up here but oli so sorry to hear about poor Joe. Hope the operation was a success s and he recovers quickly, thinking of you.

Sorry to hear about your dad madame.

Just about to go to bed here having been touching up paintwork ready for our house sale. Its a race to get it all done before baby arrives, but dh is working like a trooper. Did give him the evening off to go and watch star trek though! Thankfully not too much more to do, then get the house clean and shiny and we're good to go. And after that,, then I don't mind if baby arrives.

Spent the morning with a friend who has a 12 week old and 2.75 yr old. Put the fear of God into me about how I'm going to cope with two! I'm not sure I'm cut out for this Confused

SunnyL · 01/06/2013 08:20

Morning all.

Thought it was all systems go last night. Had very sore back, waves of pain, nausea, running for the loo and a couple of contraction like feelings. Was about to call DH and tell him to come home from work (night shift) when it all died down. Kind of disappointed now despite the fact that i was hoping bubs would stay put until i could turn it back.

Maybe i'll jump on DH today and DTD and see what happens.

How is everyone else this glorious day? Its June now so any babies coming now are actually in the right month!

Sarah2506 · 01/06/2013 08:20

I am rather jealous of the fact that most of you have people to call if unsure of what's going on- though I have been largely unsure of what's going on since October now! I have no one to call and never have, the community midwife team have a number but that's just for appointments and if I had a worry my options would be to make appointment or go to day unit. No out of hours phone number. I was thinking last night that I have absolutely no idea where to go or who to call in the event of labour starting pre ELCS. But this seems to be London maternity services for you. Next time I think I'll be more choosy and go to UCH despite the inconvenience!

MrsBri · 01/06/2013 08:28

How disappointing, Sunny! I've told DH that we are going to be DTD in a bid to make baby exit! The hormone in sperm is the same as the hormone they use to induce apparently. My friend said we should have sex every 6 hours, ha ha, which is how often they use the pessary. Not sure we can quite manage that :-/

Sarah, that is really poor. I have about 6 different numbers to call for advice etc, depending on what I need and when. Sounds crazy that you can't contact anybody.

redwellybluewelly · 01/06/2013 08:31

Sarah are there no emergency numbers on your notes? Mine has one inside the front cover.

And Sunny I hope you get the real deal sooner rather than later, I had over a fortnight of all night contractions (getting to 1 in 5min) at times but always fizzles out come morning.

DH was as good as his word last night, I did wake up at 2 when DD discovered that mummy's room qas iut of bounds. To be fair I suspect half the street woke up! So 10-7 with two short wake ups. Bliss.

learnermummy · 01/06/2013 09:21

Think I'm the only one not willing my baby out early - I'm too busy!

Sarah there must be a labour ward number on there somewhere? If not make sure you ask community midwife asap.

Sarah2506 · 01/06/2013 09:30

In an emergency I go to a and e. There is a labour ward number but I was hoping to never need it! I guess I would call them if I went into labour but certainly the attitude round here is that we don't like time wasters. I once made a midwife appointment with a week gap and not two and was told off.

pinkbear82 · 01/06/2013 09:31

morning...... June...... seemed so far away in October last year, so much to get through and would take for ever to arrive and now it's here! yikes.

Sarah I ring the Labour ward if I'm worried, they either tell me who I need to phone or deal with me. find that reassuring!

Madame hope you get some news on your Dad today. everything always happens at once doesn't it.

oli hope everything is going ok and as expected and you are managing some rest too.

everyone else I hope the start of June brings us all a step closer to meeting our little bundles x

Hawkmoth · 01/06/2013 09:34

Elsabel, yes my SPD has definitely improved. My pelvis still feels unstable but the pain is much less at the front. This happened with my other two as well, thankfully.

Anyhow.... We're having BABIES this month! Argh!
