Oh no, Oli.

I'll keep you and Joe in my thoughts. I hope he recovers well from his operation. Xx

learnermummy · 31/05/2013 10:14

Oh Oli big hugs x puts my crappy day into perspective. Hope you're all doing ok and that Joe makes a quick recovery.

forgetmenots · 31/05/2013 10:15

Oh Olimoss :(
I am sure little Joe will be just fine, but what a worry for you - do let us know when you can how you're all doing. Thinking of you.

rrreow · 31/05/2013 10:49

Sorry to hear that Oli. Poor little Joe. Keeping my fingers crossed everything goes well for him. Glad to hear you're in a good hospital that is able to deal with it quickly.

xx

pinkapples · 31/05/2013 11:26

Poor joe Sad hope your being looked after aswel

rrreow · 31/05/2013 12:24

Gearing up for a lovely afternoon at MFAU because, surprise surprise, my liver results were elevated. I think I'll have a fight on my hands (as even on the phone they were immediately talking about induction) but have DH here with me for support otherwise I'm sure I'd just become a crying mess (I don't deal we'll with conflict!).

The Piriton made a difference I think, had about 8 hours sleep (although quite fitful and still itchy) which is very much preferable over 3 or 5 hours from the nights before.

Anyway, wish me luck!

Steffanoid · 31/05/2013 12:28

good luck! if they can't provide you with concrete reasons on why you should be induced you can say no, lean on your dp to help you stand your ground

redwellybluewelly · 31/05/2013 12:33

Oh Oli I am so very sorry, it truly sucks having a baby be well and then a serious problem discovered, pleased you are somewhere with a good paed surgical team and I hope Joe goes from strength to strength afterwards. Do look after yourself as well.

rrreow hope your stay is brief, although I also have the "baby may be better out than in" hanging over my head. Pre op in an hour, anyone want to place bets on how long we'll be kept waiting today?

DD is ok ish, she can't come with us today as we both need to concentrate so have had to leave her with SIL

MrsBri · 31/05/2013 12:36

Good luck, rrreow.

Are you going to take your bag, just in case, or leave it at home in the hope you can stave off induction?

I hope it all works out for you.

rrreow · 31/05/2013 12:37

Good luck with pre op! We've been waiting for 45 mins so far (no appointment though, just fcfs)

Glad this is my second, I feel so much more sure of my rights and choices! Still have big problem with 'defying authority' though but that's not pregnancy related!

pinkbear82 · 31/05/2013 12:45

oli - sending positive thoughts to you all and hope little Joe is soon on the mend. sending lots of hugs too.

my bff and I both had a very similar dream last night - in the fact that I didn't have enough time to get to the hospital and ended up having a home birth! apparently hers ended with me txting her while I drank a proper coffee!! Am now hoping this is not some kind of omen!

having a much better day today thankfully! have sat in the garden and repainted my toe nails and plan on reading this afternoon. first day in a long time I haven't felt tired just from getting up!!

hope everyone with appts get on ok and that they go the way you want them too - fingers firmly crossed for you!

MadameJ · 31/05/2013 12:57

Sending hugs and best wishes to you Oli and I hope little Joe has a speedy recovery.

Steffanoid · 31/05/2013 13:05

pinkbear how can you reach your toes?

thought the baby wasn't really moving, hadn't felt him this morning so played him some rock music and he had a nice dance away.
have had another sit on the gym ball and going on a few encouraging walks today and tomorrow if my hips allow,

people with appointments I hope they give you the answers and options you want Smile

pinkbear82 · 31/05/2013 13:25

hahaha steff - this is where having hyper mobile joints come in handy! it's not as neat as normal and I can't do a whole foot in one go but I still manage! Smile

ginauk84 · 31/05/2013 13:29

Olimoss sorry to hear about Joe, hope everything goes to plan with the op!

Hubby and I DTD last night and I suffered from such bad period type pain and lower back pain all night I wondered whether it may have triggered something but nothing happened.

Got to work today and lift was being serviced so had to climb the two flights of stairs which is not good with SPD, I could feel my pelvis sliding about all over the place!! Had my first leaving gift today as colleague isn't in next week - wow my last week of work next week!

Am not having a baby shower, been asked to bake cakes for my last day in work next week - should they not be giving me cakes? So a baileys and malteser cheesecake and a coffee cake is on order from the troops. They also suggested carrot cake but I don't DO vegetables in a cake lol, have never made one so won't be starting now lol!!

Such a beautiful day I want to be sitting in a beer garden with a nice pub sarnie and chips and a rose spritzer lol!! Am helping hubby at work all weekend so no time to relax in the garden hurumph.

Hope everyone's appointments have gone okay today, looking forward to seeing midwife next week to see where baby is!

ginauk84 · 31/05/2013 13:39

pinkbear82 I have hypermobile joints also and was told this contributed to my SPD, though my mum also has hypermobile joints and she never suffered. Are you suffering from any SPD?

Sarah2506 · 31/05/2013 13:43

Ladies having sections have you discovered the Snugglebundl? I thought it might be a bit of a gimmick but now it's been delivered I think it might be worth a shot. Have a look at their website, what do you think? I think it will be particularly handy for carrying her out to the car or just downstairs to the pram- we are in a second floor flat and I'm worried about being trapped!

MrsBri · 31/05/2013 14:19

Pink, I'm impressed that you can paint your toenails still. I just about managed to trim 8 of my toenails last week (I couldn't do the big toe and toe next to it on my left foot, for some reason!) and was chuffed to be able to do that! DH hasn't yet stepped up to the mark to finish the job, however. :-/

Gina, carrot cake is awesome. I made a really, really nice one the other week, and will definitely be making it again as it went down very well indeed.

I took a cake in for the troops on my last day in the office. Bought from Asda, not made by me! I wouldn't have even thought about it if DH hadn't asked if I was taking one.

Does anybody else have an intermittently helpful DH / DP? Mine is utterly lovely and helpful most of the time, but yesterday I ended up doing the vacuuming in as I was tired of telling him it needed doing and him not taking the hint. He knows baby hates how noisy it is, but just was not taking the hint, and I wasn't going to just tell him to do it as I shouldn't have to. Suppose he is being mostly great, so I can't really complain too much, it just annoys me somewhat!

I am considering a nap now. I was going to go for a little wander, but I'm exhausted, so may just go for the nap option instead.

MadameJ · 31/05/2013 14:27

Well my fab day has gone downhill fast.......my sil was supposed to clean our old house top to bottom for me today as we have tenants moving in tomorrow and she let me down so have spent all day scrubbing floors and walls whilst trying to entertain a 2 yo. Now to top it off my dad has being taken into hospital due to chest pains and they think he needs a triple bypass!! I want to sit and cry but I havent got time - bleugh!!

rrreow · 31/05/2013 14:32

Yay just got monitored and baby is fine. I saw a lovely doctor afterwards and although I'm obviously going against their advice by refusing induction she was really sympathetic, listened to me and understood my reasoning. Going to get ursodeoxycholic acid to treat the OC and will have to go in for extra monitoring and perhaps an extra scan to keep an eye on the baby.

All this talk of carrot cake, I've never made one before but I think that will be my project this weekend!
