I know what you mean steff i am so busy symptom spotting im also too quick to rationalise every niggle that could actually be a sign of early labour. Pain = wind, back ache = sciatica, waters breaking = peeing myself, and so on! But hopefully very soon it will be labour!

AmIGoingMad · 30/05/2013 20:46

Elsabel I'm 36+2 today so a little while yet. A bit fed up of people saying 'oh you'll go early definitely' as its getting my hopes up and will find it really hard if I go to 42 weeks now!

elsabel · 30/05/2013 20:49

Yes i was the same, everyone kept saying id be early, now funnily enough everyones saying il be late..people always have to make a prediction with little to base it on and ive found it very annoying! Is baby your first? Do you know what youre having? Sorry youve probably already said in previous posts but im new Smile

redwellybluewelly · 30/05/2013 20:49

Don't mind I keep thinking this will be my last weekend as mum of one! I'm not getting a dressing gown, but I'm going into town to find a long cardigan

That's interesting re tightenings, AmI, as I'm not sure if the few contracting / period pain moments are the real deal or not as the bump doesn't tighten. The one I had the other day was so fierce though that goodness knows what it was if it wasn't a BH! It was enough to make me practice my breathing.

I'll see if I can get any info out of the midwife on Monday.

So many babies are here or coming soon. Very jealous!

Steffanoid · 30/05/2013 21:37

feeling very sorry for myself, have got a pounding head so.I think paracetamol and bed it is for me!

AmIGoingMad · 30/05/2013 22:42

Aw stef- have an early night and hopefully you'll feel better in the morning.

Mrsbri- that's the thing. I've had a few brief moments over last few weeks where I've thought oo ouch for a second but nothing more than that. I generally put it down to baby moving or me moving to quickly. maybe thats not what is is after all! My bump is generally pretty tight feeling so maybe that's what they were feeling- haven't a clue really! Proof as was said on last thread that we're all first timers as we've never had this baby before! Let me know what your mw says tho- I don't have masses of faith in mine if I'm honest!

Elsabel I'm having a girl ( still will only really believe this when she's out!) and have a little boy already who's 2yrs4 months. Was induced 5 days before due date last time due to late onset of pre eclampsia symptoms so no idea what natural onset of labour is meant to feel like!

AmIGoingMad · 30/05/2013 22:44

And red and dontmind- it must be a weird mix of excitement and 'oh my God !' to know your actual date!

MrsBri · 30/05/2013 22:49

Yes, my bump is tight, and as baby shoves against it all the time, all I can feel is him under the skin!

Poor bubs is having to deal with me sneezing a lot. I can tell he's less than impressed. :-(

I'll mention all my pains to my midwife and report back!

elsabel · 30/05/2013 23:27

amigoingmad i am the same, were having a girl but am keeping the tags on everything weve bought until she arrives!

elsabel · 30/05/2013 23:27

Hope you feel better tomorrow steff

SunnyL · 31/05/2013 01:37

Just woke up with heart pumping, totally out of breathe with the adrenalin pumping because in my dream i was being chased by a polar bear through a Moroccan souk. Imagine if i went into labour now and try explaining that one to the midwife?! Baby clearly woken up by my mad dream too unless it is also running away from the imaginary polar bear.

DH would like baby to start making an appearance by 11pm Friday so he doesnt have to work the nightshift over the weekend. He's so selfless Smile.

Steffanoid · 31/05/2013 02:10

sunny that would be a great thing to tell the mw, imagine her telling it to others to try and start labour!

woo headache gone, am really glad cause twist are a tiny bit swollen and if it hadn't gone by the morning id have had to call up and probably go for extra monitoring, glad it's fine Smile

redwellybluewelly · 31/05/2013 04:21

And the most ridiculous reason for being woken at 3am is "mummy, my bunny upside down". Have been awake ever since.

Stef pleased headache gone, not had them so bad this time but first time had them really badly, I am lucky as I know I dont drink enough.

OP posts:
pinkbear82 · 31/05/2013 04:30

red you and I both naughty on the not drinking enough front! I'm awful and try very hard to drink more but just struggle. Hope bunny stays the right way up and you manage a but more sleep.

yesterday was an 'everything's too much' day. ended up very teary and frustrated. today's a new day tho so keeping that in mind!

AlohaMama · 31/05/2013 07:11

Ha ha sounds like a toddlerism red. The other week I had "I left my giant squid at the doctor" Hmm at least that wasn't at 3am though.

pinkapples · 31/05/2013 07:47

Wow so much going on every time I come on now there's so much to catch up on

I too am symptom spotting but this is my first so no idea what I'm looking for :-) just hope she comes on time as I'm at the beached whale stage now and not enjoying it Confused

MadameJ · 31/05/2013 07:56

AmIGoingMad · 31/05/2013 08:06

Glad you feel better stef!

How's your daughter red?

Madame j- congratulations! That's a lovely milestone especially with previous experience.

Pinkbear I hope that today is a better day.

Learner- that sounds like a crazy day for a heavily pregnant lady! I hope things calm down/ you manage to get a nap!

I hope everyone has good days today and that those who want things to get moving start having some movement!Smile

elsabel · 31/05/2013 08:30

Thats a great milestone madame she can cone whenever now then!

Weird drean sunny must br the pre baby hormones to blame for that Smile

Mawgatron · 31/05/2013 08:45

Morning all. Glad to hear people are getting over various ailments etc- sounds like today is shaping up to be a good one. I'm off for lunch with some buddies today, which will be nice.

Even better, finally having my baby shower tomorrow- all my lovely friends have organised it behind my back, all I know is where and when it is. Oh, and that my sister is making wild garlic tartlets and strawberry cheesecake - yum!

Congrats oli and others who have their lovely babies. So excited. I have also been told by anyone and everyone that he is coming early (am currently 37+5), but we shall see.

Hears to a good day today!

MrsBri · 31/05/2013 09:42

Morning all!

Hope everyone is starting to feel better. It's glorious weather up here which always helps, doesn't it? My cold isn't really shifting much, but surely it has to soon?

Madame, well done on reaching term. It's a great feeling, isn't it? More so for you, I think?

Maw, the food for your shower sounds amazing. I love cheesecake SO much!

Planning on a relaxing day today, just pottering, after the last two busy days.

People have started asking if I have any news yet. Even people who've given birth recently, and late, so must know that it's annoying! I'm replying by saying I think it'll be a while yet. Hopefully that will stop them asking again too soon. :-/

Almost Homes Under the Hammer time. I'll get my Martin fix and then have a nice long bath, I think! :-)

Olimoss · 31/05/2013 10:08

Just wanted to let you all know that Joe has been a bit poorly and it's been discovered he has something called tracheoesophageal fistula.

They can fix it with surgery which will be done today or tomorrow and he will remain in intensive care, where he is now, for 2-3 weeks after the operation. So after an exciting start we will necessarily prob be a bit quiet till we know how he's getting on. It's scary and difficult but we happen to have been in the best hospital for this sort of thing, so lucky in a lot of ways. Will keep in touch.

massagegirl · 31/05/2013 10:09

Mrs bri am also loving homes under the hammer!
Mawg... Be careful I also had a surprise baby shower organised by my lovely friends and then baby came early two days before the shower! Sounds like yummy food!
