Try not to worry curious, they will be totally alert and who knows, it may mean BABY very soon... :)

AlohaMama · 30/05/2013 17:22

rrreow a fellow violiner! I keep crashing my bow into my bump when I play on the E-string - it kind of bounces off! I have to remember to lean back and give myself more space.

rue sorry you're feeling unwell, it does sound like some kind of infection. Hope you can get seen.

Glad you had a good scan AmI and that your girl is still a girl Grin

steff and whoever else was talking about thinking every pain being labour. It's not just first timers! I'm on number 2 but I still keep worrying with every twinge!

elsabel · 30/05/2013 17:28

I hope so...getting BH like crazy since i saw the midwife on tuesday and she ' massaged' my bump, apparently it can start things off and it seemed to do something, as id never had BH until she did that. Has anyone else had that??

forgetmenots · 30/05/2013 17:28

Just realised it's June on Saturday - this shit just got real :)

forgetmenots · 30/05/2013 17:29

Getting crazy BH elsabel, but not through massage (and baby not showing signs of coming!) - maybe she was gently encouraging them ona bit!

rrreow · 30/05/2013 17:30

AlohaMama does your baby move a lot when you play? Mine moves especially with notes on the G and D string! Not nearly as much as DS1 did when I was pregnant with him though (and he's quite musical now at 2yo - apparently he wants to play the violin too Grin)

Welcome elsabel hopefully not long to wait for you now!

Steffanoid · 30/05/2013 17:38

getting period pains, had a bounce around on the gym ball
c'mon pains escalate and turn into labour! I told oh we're having curry tomorrow a medium should be spicy enough for me cause I usually have passanda,
my last nice paycheck from work tomorrow before it all goes downhill, going to be frugal with this one and treat it like it's the smaller ones, see how much I can save Smile

learnermummy · 30/05/2013 17:43

Welcome elsabel, not heard of anyone doing bump massage before! Was there a particular technique?Smile

arlandria666 · 30/05/2013 17:45

Yipeeee baby has gained weight! Not a lot .7 of a gram but she said in 24 hours that's really good and she wasn't expecting it so i feel more relieved!
I still have to top his feeds up every 3 hours.
Worth the sleepless night! Now back to the breast pump :-)

Hawkmoth · 30/05/2013 18:02

My baby moves a lot to music, I also play and it dropping this week has been a godsend!

Arlandria, I hope they are using the same scales every time? The error on them is often substantial enough to make concerns where not needed so you need consistency, and preferably you don't want it to be calibrated halfway through a series of measurements.

Well done on getting a gain though!

arlandria666 · 30/05/2013 18:18

Yeah it was the same scales he has fed loads though and lapped up the cup feeds just got to keep it up

MrsBri · 30/05/2013 18:37

Yay! Well done on the gain, Arlandria :-) It's excellent news.

And I have two very painful words for you: lightning crotch! Poor DH didn't know what to say / do!

MrsBri · 30/05/2013 18:38

Oh, yes, welcome Esabel and Baby :-)

Tell us more about the massage, Esabel!

SunnyL · 30/05/2013 18:50

Not getting any major BH but getting what I term 'tight bits' when I'm out walking the dog.

Spent the afternoon making a nursing maxi dress for my friends wedding in July using this pattern here. Made it in bright red which is going to clash horribly with our orange pram but clashing is the new matching right??!

Now sitting in the sun eating crisps. I like maternity leave!

RueDeWakening · 30/05/2013 18:55

Spoke to MW who said to call gp cos it sounds like mastitis. Gp phoned me back and prescribed ABs over the phone so DH has been to pick them up and I've had the first dose.

Am seeing MW on Sunday, and gp said if I'm not feeling better by Saturday then to get back in touch.

Red hope your dd is feeling better soon.

rrreow · 30/05/2013 19:19

DS is distressed because I have taken my belly button piercing out. Lots of "Oh nooooo", shocked face and pointing at my belly Grin

redwellybluewelly · 30/05/2013 19:20

I didn't take the ABs I was prescribed because it was caused by a blocked duct and I managed to ease it out but several friends who've had mastitis at our BF group say they felt better within 24hours so I hope that you also feel better quickly.

I'm also getting that lightening crotch - now every ten minutes for the past hour, without a doubt in my mind caused by having to carry DD a lot this afternoon. Called DH home from work 30min early as I simply couldn't cook dinner and look after DD. GP says upper respiratory infection, but could go either way and become a snotty cold or a more worrying chest infection. Given we've a week before we have a newborn in the house I'm praying she gets better quickly. Plus DH can do many things but he cannot look after her if she is ill, no instinct!

arlandria thats fantastic news, did they say how long you might need to combine feed for? Its so exhausting pumping and feeding! Hope you are managing to get some rest occasionally

Steffanoid · 30/05/2013 19:21

well done arlandria brilliant news!

my bits are aching for want of a better word, feels like a lot of pressure around the area, had another bounce around on the gym ball, dp convinced me to okay a bit of a computer game that I like and now my fingers swelled back up Sad

elsabel · 30/05/2013 19:29

Well she felt my tummy and said baby fully engaged, then gave it a bit of a massage for about 30 secs and said she was getting the baby moving in hope of moving things along. She then said it should caused mini contractions, which it did instantly, my stomach started contracting and going hard, which she said is normal if the baby is ready to come out.

It seems to have caused something to happen but not quickly enough for my liking!

AlohaMama · 30/05/2013 19:48

Well done Arlandria - keep up the good work!

rrreow - not sure if baby moves when I play, probably only when I stab her with my bow!! ds not so keen on me playing, he used to tell me it was too loud Sad but I'm sure I'll eke some musical talent out of him somehow!! He does like singing to himself though...

welcome elsabel - sounds like you are nearly on your way!!

elsabel · 30/05/2013 19:55

I hope so aloha, but not getting my hopes up. I was getting some pains a couple of hours ago..which turned out to be wind! Very disappointed!

I know what you mean about the pressure steff i was getting that alot and put it down to baby engaging so its got to be good. Im sure the ball will do some good aswell.

AmIGoingMad · 30/05/2013 20:09

Welcome Elsabel!

Thats great news Arlandria! Well done!

Rue I'm glad that you contacted them and that they've been proactive in getting you sorted.

With the bh/tightenings- I still don't think I've had any. But on tue with midwife she told me I was having a tightening when she was palpating, and the same happened with the sonographer today. I hadn't felt anything/ realised either time!

elsabel · 30/05/2013 20:14

Thanks amigoingmad. I hadnt noticed it either until the midwife pointed it out to me, i could have already had some and hadnt noticed cause didnt know what they feel like. How long do you have left?

DontmindifIdo · 30/05/2013 20:22

Aha, found you! So I am now more pregnant than I've ever been, yesterday was the stage I went into labour and waters broke and today is the stage when DS arrived. So passed that milestone! Feel soo heavy and like bump is very low. It's been a very hard day with a very demanding toddler, and DH is out tonight so I didn't have him to help lift DS in and out of the bath, not good Sad

Anyway, fingers crossed I actually make it to Tuesday for ELCS date. Oh fuck, I'm having a baby on Tuesday - and it's currently Thursday. (I really need to wash my dressing gown)

Steffanoid · 30/05/2013 20:28

elsabel gutted it was wind! I think it's going to drive us crazy goimg woohoo this is it and then it being nothing

I am getting little niggles every now and again above my pelvic bone, I bet when it actually happens we won't believe it and be like nah nothing, I bet even if my waters break I'll just think I've peed myself!
