Congrats sunny! I'm sure she is worth the wait!

So, no signs of anything else yet but had to go for a blood pressure check at the children's centre and she has had a good feel. Apparently mini mawg is no longer back to back and is now 2/5 engaged (he was 4/5 on Monday!). Bump is measuring 37 instead of 39 from Monday too so he has def dropped down into my pelvis. Eeeep! Have just spent the afternoon repackaged my hospital bag to make sure all is ready...

Hope all of you still waiting get some signs soon xxx

Hawkmoth · 12/06/2013 15:57

Congratulations Sunny!

Sweep failed as cervix was too far back for her to reach, despite a really good rummage. Have had some bloody mucous since, but not holding my breath. Not back at midwife for two weeks now! I'm going to make some exciting plans instead...

curiousgeorgie · 12/06/2013 16:19

Congratulations Sunny!!

I really need to go into labour, my DH's parents are away for a whole week from today and if I could just get hospital out of the way without them wanting to be there at every second that would be ideal! And the whole 'wait until we're back' just inspires me even more Wink

learnermummy · 12/06/2013 16:30

Congratulations Sunny SmileSmileSmile

MrsBri · 12/06/2013 16:37

Curious, do you have my in laws?!

They all want to be involved from the second labour starts, with DH's sister saying she will travel up as soon as it starts.

I don't want to tell anybody until we have baby as we don't know how long it will take and what kind of birth it will be. I may not be up to having visitors straight away.

DH's brother gave a blow by blow account of his wife's labour the other month. I certainly won't be doing that!

Why can't they just leave me alone and come once invited, like most normal bloody people? :-/

pinkapples · 12/06/2013 16:48

Contractions have slowed now... Hmm Still leaking tho so must be nearly all out not really sure what that means...

My parents are a bit like that been texting all day as if they think hubby can't cope on his own with me

Steffanoid · 12/06/2013 17:16

ah well come Friday dp can sort them out!

Olimoss · 12/06/2013 17:43

Excellent news, big congrats Sunny!

AlohaMama · 12/06/2013 17:48

Congrats Sunny, and great name choice. Hope you're not too exhausted after that marathon!

Congrats pink bear on getting dp home too.

And good luck all those in progress.

I'm being discharged this morning so hoping dh is feeling full of energy ready to distract ds so I can get some sleep. Hospital is lovely but they will keep waking you up to check on me and dd. Room is lovely and quiet though and nurses even took dd away to the nursery for a couple of hours over night so I could rest. That've not been too pushy on feeding her every x hours so I guess that means she's doing OK.

So to update you more...Mon at 9am had my 38 wk checkup. Dr gave me an internal and I was 3cm dilated and 70% effaced. That must have got things going as my Bh all day seemed a bit more intense but were quite variable ranging from 4-10 mins. As I've had lots of BH for months I couldn't decide if they were true contractions as they didn t seem to build. Did all my errands, got my pedicure, made dinner and put ds down to bed. By about 9pm I decided they were hurting more so we should go to hospital. In the time it took for dh to finish his emails Hmm and take a shower they hurt so I had to go on all 4s to relieve the pain. Dropped ds off at friends, cue me getting through contraction by going on all 4s on side of street. Got to hospital at 10:30 ish, porter ran with me in wheelchair to delivery room, I was already 9cm. Painful contractions but too late for pain relief. My OB arrived and checked me again and waters broke with a comedy 'pop'. I think I started pushing then and within 10 minutes she was out, so within 45 mins of getting to hospital I think. It was quick! And she's gorgeous.

Name is Evie Melelani (eve on birth cert.). Yes I know Evie is now most common name in the world or something but we chose it before we got married, when we didn't even want kids 10 years ago, and still like it.

Phew, must rest after that epic post!

curiousgeorgie · 12/06/2013 17:51

Evie is a beautiful name :) congratulations... Hope you manage to get some rest Smile

MrsBri · 12/06/2013 17:55

I'm exhausted just reading that, Aloha!

Evie is a lovely name :-)

Enjoy being back at home.

Sarah2506 · 12/06/2013 18:07

aloha love the Hawaiian middle name! Was already thinking she will have a great story at school, being able to tell the class she was born in Honolulu, but to have the middle name as well is great! Yes, Evie is popular but there are good reasons why - it's lovely!

redwellybluewelly · 12/06/2013 18:28

aloha absolutely totally adore the name Grin

Sunny congratulations! Hard core labour, now rest!

My DD1 is ignoring me totally today since we collected her from nursery, I know its only temporary but still hurts!

I'm getting so jealous of all these babies! Wink

pinkbear82 · 12/06/2013 20:08

congrats curly - hope you are enjoying snuggles

aloha you've liked the name for a long time and rightly so!

which baby is next then?!

Violet and me have had a very lazy day today - which has been amazing. just the two of us chilling together. I'd recommend it to anyone that can manage it - even just a few hours- resting and feeding and just doing it together.
figure its going to return to being manic once dp is home!

RueDeWakening · 12/06/2013 20:55

Congratulations Curly and Sunny! I can't keep up :o
