Well at 5am this morning my waters went... Weirdest feeling ever!
Trip to hospital who confirmed it now home with hubby eating breakfast should start on its own within 24 hrs fingers crossed

learnermummy · 12/06/2013 07:16

Ooh exciting littlemiss and pink. V jealous littlemiss as think we have same due date and not a sausage here!
Still, going out with the girls tonight for a curry, so looking forward to that.

MrsBri · 12/06/2013 07:28

Exciting we're getting more babies :-) Can I have mine too please?

I've had an appalling night's sleep here what with reflux, weeing, sweating and dribbling. Nasty. Feel utterly wiped out.

Have been cramping since about 6 ish on and off.

Oh, also dreamt I gave birth on the bathroom floor! Lovely!

Baby is fidgeting a lot too. God knows what he's playing at. Sigh.

Littlemissexpecting · 12/06/2013 07:34

How exciting pink!!
Well all pretty much stopped here just the occasional contraction so just a waiting game for it to start again.
After losing your show do you just carry on as normal, unlike your waters?

Littlemissexpecting · 12/06/2013 07:35

MrsBri sorry to hear you had a bad night, can you have a nice lazy day today on sofa? I've had reflux throughout the pregnancy and its horrible

MrsBri · 12/06/2013 07:48

Hi Littlemiss, yes you just carry on. It can be up to 2 weeks before baby comes (though I doubt you'll have to wait that long!). Don't have sex though as the protection against infection has gone.

And yes, lazy day on the sofa for me. I feel really sick and (TMI) just had to run to the loo for an emergency poo, so hoping things are moving here too!

Just spoken to DH and he's working in the town where the hospital is, so we've agreed that if I go into labour while he's at work I'll just call an ambulance to take me there if necessary as it'll be quicker than him coming back to take me. Feels a bit real now!

pinkapples · 12/06/2013 07:53

Waters still coming it is so weird I thought they came and that was it but no still trickling Hmm no contractions as yet though well a couple of little ones I think waters are going pink now in the pad which is normal midwife said so just waiting

Make sure you have a rest after the bad night who knows what could happen

Steffanoid · 12/06/2013 08:02

ladies this is my jealous face Envy
nothing happening here other than people bugging me tellin me my dd has gone past REALLY! do you think I dont know!!!!Angry

MrsBri · 12/06/2013 08:05

Pink, when will they induce you if you don't go into labour? Our hospital is 24 hours after your waters go.

Weird, isn't it, the things people don't tell you about having a baby? Trickling waters being one of those.

Has your DH gone to work?

And I'm not doing anything today, I can assure you of that! Baby is doing enough for 2 of us at the moment anyway. Fidget arse baby! Think he's making the final push down :-)

pinkapples · 12/06/2013 08:16

No hubby is staying home now he works an hour away so there'd really be no point since it could start at any time... I have another appointment tomorrow at 10am if it hasn't happened on its own but I don't know they said 48 hrs but I guess it depends on the contractions... Really hoping it comes naturally then I can have my water birth although I'm quite sure when the time comes I won't care

Sat now watching tv with a towel round me as I decided I wasn't ruining another pair of trousers (the pair I went to the hospital in are soaked and in definite need of a wash hehe)

AmIGoingMad · 12/06/2013 09:02

Wow I miss one day on here and everything goes mad!

Congratulations aloha! Hope you're feeling good still and that you're getting some rest!

Pinkbear- that's fantastic news about your other half!

Pinkapples and curly- fingers crossed that you're not kept waiting too much longer to meet your babies! You too sunny- sounds like you're having a marathon time of it!

Red and rreow- sounds like they should be looking into giving you a bit of an iron boost. What have they said ?

All those still waiting and getting more and more uncomfortable-I'm with you! Have a feeling I'll be bringing up the rear of the thread though as nothing at all to report here. I'm really starting to hate all those silly people who got my hopes up with 'there's no way you'll go to 40weeks'. Currently 38+1 and feel like I'm in for the long haul!

Madame- my 2.5 old DS has also decided he no longer needs his afternoon nap, just as I started my mat leave. I'm loving having time with him but am knackered, and also wondering how the hell I'm going to cope with 2! Although I should have my body/energy back then I hope!

MadameJ · 12/06/2013 09:09

Its so exciting when you log on in the mornings now, its all go.......but nothing here.
AmI, I am desperately praying that dd will start napping again but I doubt it, she was such hard work yedterday afternoon as she was clearly exhausted but on a positive note she went to sleep within seconds at bedtime and I didnt hear a sqeak until 8am so its not all bad.

Mawgatron · 12/06/2013 09:40

Don't want to piss off the symptom spotters, but...

Period type pain and sore back sporadically through the night. Went for a wee this morn and there was a bit of blood when I wiped. I know it will probably still be AGES, but at least it is something. REALLY want to go to see ghost poet on Friday, my friend booked him to play months ago and I told him off then for booking him 2 days before due date. That is looking increasingly unlikely...

RueDeWakening · 12/06/2013 09:47

Looks like I'm off to the doctors again, the wisdom of the mn BFing board suggests I might now have thrush, as a follow on to the mastitis. V painful to feed (again) so hoping they can sort us out soon.

Hawkmoth · 12/06/2013 09:54

I am one of the living dead this morning. Was up itching, fretting and in serious pain with my pelvis until the twitting sparrows started singing. DH obviously feeling the pressure as he was grinding his teeth all bloody night, but at least he slept... He looks all refreshed and handsome today... Bastard!

Going to MW to ask if she will give me the sweep that the hospital doctor suggested last week. It's in my notes but they're not keen. If it's refused I will hibernate for a few days.

learnermummy · 12/06/2013 10:17

Poor you Rue I had nipple thrush with my first and know your pain. Make sure you get something to treat both you and baby. Also worth trying to cut down yeasts and sugars in diet (not sure how that works with diabetes though) and you can even rinse your nipples with a vinegar solution after feeding! Think also worth washing bras etc on a hot wash. Hope you get sorted soon.

Steffanoid · 12/06/2013 12:45

still nothing here, oh well sweep at 10am tomorrow which will hopefully help and not fail, woulda liked to have gone spontaneously but a little bit of intervention will be worth it if it works

Littlemissexpecting · 12/06/2013 13:14

Contractions appear to have stopped Hmm

Hawkmoth · 12/06/2013 13:23

Failed sweep. Sulk.

pinkapples · 12/06/2013 14:40

Oh no hawkmoth how do you know it failed?
What i think are Contractions every 10 minutes of so here lasting between 30-45 seconds not much pain just so uncomfortable Hmm hopefully they ramp up a bit and things get going have had enough of sitting in giant nappy and towel now

SunnyL · 12/06/2013 15:07

Just a quick one to say baby Sunny arrived this morning after a mammoth 65hr labour. All is forgiven already though as she is truly beautiful. 7lbs14 and very loooong after DH. We've named her Lily Anne Sunny.

Will post more on the labour once i get home tomorrow.

AmIGoingMad · 12/06/2013 15:09
